President Donald Trump delivered his first State of the Union speech on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. It was his first State of the Union address to the nation since he took office in 2017.
In his speech, Trump covered a range of topics that have become signatures of his platform since he launched his Presidential bid in 2015. In a series of prepared remarks, Trump covered a range of topics from immigration, to the economy, to nuclear arms.

"clean coal" is like saying "happy rape"
It really is. Just like rape the one delivering the goods is probably pretty happy.
And professional box? Or weren't you referencing Willam?
Murdrocks Now to educate the masses of sheeple...YES COAL CAN BE CLEAN. With proper filtration and safety you can enjoy the benefits of coal. The only issue is that laws on filtration and safety are lax and need to be enforced.
Side Tracker Clean coal is a lie.
Nope. Coal is impossible to be "Clean". When coal is burned it releases sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and carbon dioxide (CO2). These gasses all hurt the environment in some way, especially CO2 and NOx. And while possible to filter some of these gasses with recent technology, it is incredibly expensive, hard to maintain, and is not used anywhere around the country. Seems as though you're the "sheeple" here.
Did dat boy just say "clean coal?"
No
zh11147 Coal that is kept underground. And out of the atmosphere.
Please don't call him that. But yeah, proud and scripted- much like his career.
zh11147 Coal that was sprayed with Lysol?
No, he said beautiful clean coal. Which is more super duper extra special than just ordinary single adjective clean coal.😂
Clean coal?
Look it up on google. Takes two seconds.
yea it's real
Clean coal is like saying "Dry water"
Not really clean
beautiful clean coal
Clean coal. Cold fire. Dry water. Trump truth.
flying pigs and carnivorous vegetarians.
It sounds weird but it seems to actually be a thing. See "What is 'cleaner' coal?" in source:
www.abc.net.au/news/2015-11-27/fact-check-is-australias-export-coal-cleaner/6952190
Sure, the technology exists, but do we use it? well, no, we only have 2 clean coal plants.
is water wet?
Down Hill Obama dumped billions of dollars into CCS technology. Don't act like this is a Trump thing. Reps and Dems have been talking about this since Bush.
I google what is clean coal and turn out there’s no such thing. It was just a nonsense term created by him.
Thanks for pointing that out. I also wanna show you an article from the same magazines: www.popularmechanics.com/science/energy/a4947/4339171/
"Sadly, although it might make little economic or scientific sense, the political logic behind clean coal is overwhelming. Coal is mined in some politically potent states--Illinois, Montana, West Virginia, Wyoming--and the coal industry spends millions on lobbying. The end result of the debate is all too likely to resemble Congress's corn-based ethanol mandates: legislation that employs appealing buzzwords to justify subsidies to a politically favored constituency--while actually worsening the problem it seeks to solve."
Both article are not contradict with each other. So there's nothing obsolete here.
Both article were saying the exact same thing: It is not cost efficient to implement "clean coal" because it is very expensive. I urge everyone read the conclusion of both articles.
That's why the term "political buzzword" is using by Popular Mechanics, because it make no sense people chasing for energy that are more expensive for the sake of votes.
rewer
...if you sourced a paper from 2011, then you KNEW your OP was bullshit when you made it. Hell, Obama campaigned on "clean coal" all the way back in 2008!
But the 2011 and 2017 paper did not contradict with each other. Both are concluding the same thing. 2017 paper actually do not recommend the clean coal technology.
Obama did campaigned for it, but technology told him he has to abandoned that idea because it is technology unwise to do that.
I wanna share a video about China as the world largest coal production and usage country decided to REDUCE coal/fossil fuel related energy starting from 2016: ua-cam.com/video/lIL9uRnlb6M/v-deo.html
If there's a technology that can make coal and petroleum based energy become "clean", China would have invest and research on it, since they are the biggest user of coal/fossil energy. They knew technology wise it's not economy to do so, that's why China decided switch to green energy.
Because let's face the reality, in current situation there's no way we can have clean coal/fossil energy. It's just a political buzzword created to fool voters (reference from Popular Mechanics magazine)
Beautiful clean coal... Ok dude
complete bullshit
Coal accounts for over a third of US energy consumption, whether it's clean or not...At least the "clean" initiative is trying to reduce pollution, as opposed to the people who just want it to go away, as if that will ever happen
www.popularmechanics.com/technology/infrastructure/news/a27886/how-does-clean-coal-work/
Since Obama said it was there were clean coal energies during his speech
ua-cam.com/video/GpQxPCcSZUU/v-deo.html
That's another tick mark to the # of divorces
*beautiful clean coal*
It's an actual thing, google it
Yup, look at who is the ignorant now...
It's an actual lie.
I was just gonna say
Beautiful clean baby Jesus coal.
Lol clean coal. Whats next dry water
Pringle Lays clean coal is actually a thing. Do you even research bro?
This is Vox, no one in the comments even knows what month it is.
dry water is a thing too. it's used by Caltrans and other agencies/organizations to water plants slowly over time.
Pringle Lays Well technically Water is never wet and therefore always dry, it's difficult to explain as english is not my native tongue but you can look it up if you want. Also clean coal is a thing.
Clean(er) coal maybe, but the joke that you are obviously not in on Beep Badapup is that "clean coal" is not anywhere near as clean as alternatives like solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. That's why there is no such thing as "clean" coal and Trump's attempts to protect the stubborn people maintaining that industry are a huge waste of time, and many are a burden on progress WE could be contributing towards the industry, instead of allowing China to beat us there too.
“Beautiful clean coal”
OK?
Pierre C Nothing more sustainable 😂
Pierre C there is actually such thing as clean coal
Beautiful sexy coal
Here's the thing, clean coal isn't really clean. Sure, it's cleanER, but is still harmful. We need solar and wind.
Dylan Green I think nuclear's pretty good too. Just gotta figure out a way to dispose of the waste. Otherwise, it's the best option
Here’s an oxymoron: clean coal
Did you try googling what is clean coal technology?
The Valentine Show
It lowers emissions of different minoxides and nitrogen-carbon molecules, but still has a big pollution output.
Artur Renato B.B yes but they working on making it cleaner which is great.
The Valentine Show Or we could just use the perfectly clean and renewable source of the sun and stop using coal all together...
The Valentine Show You seem awfully content. Why not just go for the already clean renewable energies?
Imagine if the German parliament was shouting DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND at the end of Merkel's speeches.
S4nteri Three letters. One chorus.
AFD. SCHLAND'SCHLAAAND.
Either way i look at it this way if religion is needed to give morale guidance for people lacking them. Then blind patriotism is providing a sense of accomplishment by virtue of association.
Whatever holds the social fabric and keeps my fellow citizen civilized...
It would be incredibly weird in my country as well. We didn't even have the Dutch flag in our parliament untill last year.
Part of the rise of the alt right in Germany and Europe is because of their fear to be proud of themselves. The people with the wrong message were the only ones who took pride in themselves and so they have started to grow.
Don't worry, the US will invade to stop the 1001 year riech and bring democracy back again xD #makecoldwargreatagain #makeworldwargreatagain
"THE NAZIS ARE BACK" quote every american news outlet
The chanting is so bizarre. I mean, I do that as a joke with my friends, but I never knew people in America actually did it unironically
The German Empire well yeah, okay, suppose you wouldn't
LOL
It’s ok bud I’m from America and I’m scared too lol
Yeah, the chanting isn’t normal unless its sports game.
So now we can't be proud of been an American? come on everyone we are ALL 1 great nation why not support it.
clean and coal???? tell me i heard that wrong
rainatske 😂😂😂😂
It’s actually “beautiful, clean coal”
It means you take the coal and you clean it.
zh11147 No.
zh11147 clean"er" coal. It's not clean at all.
since when has coal ever been clean???
Moses Jonson I know right
he meant clean as in not diluted lol trump is stupid and an ass but im pretty sure
My loyal minions would eat my clean poop and bathe their babies in my clean pee. So why not let them die digging clean coal?
since Obama said so
Around when Australia's conservative government got in, they were on about the same bullshit. It's nothing more than a marketing campaign to defend the interests of coal shareholders.
_"So this is how democracy dies... With thunderous applause..."_
Biting, Edgy, Not overdone at all.. feel good about yourself for that one man.
Both Mussolini and Hitler were democratically elected. Both had huge support bases in their countries.
666Tomato666 Godwin's law.
you mean this Godwin? gizmodo.com/godwin-of-godwins-law-by-all-means-compare-these-shi-1797807646
or is he not Macho? is he not a racist? not a white supremacist? not a nationalist? not against "educated elites"? not xenophobic? not obsessed with plot against himself? plot against the country? against science and reason? etc.
those are all fascist tendencies, which other fascists and neo-nazis see also and support him
also remember, concentration camps and war in St. Petersburg is how fascists _ended_ not how they began, I'm talking about 1920' and 1930's, not 1940's
Eduardo Hilário o
A sane person would not put the words "beautiful", "clean", and "coal" in the same sentence.
Clean coal the next Tide Pods
Chicago Bears Nice strawman argument there buddy.
Naw man tide pods be too tasty
Your stupid Kristen dumb kid
Isopods.
Also memes are not for liberals. They offended too easily.
clean coal good for the lungs
The last thing I expected was liberals/moderate democrats to start complaining about the term "clean coal", investing in a power source that has supplied our nation for years and trying to improve it with said investment, I guess that is a bad idea from what you say? No power generation is good for your lungs or body for that matter, solar and other minor means of clean energy will never meet the requirements of our society. You can argue that dams which are a medium sized way of generating power (not saying they are insignificant at all) are a clean source of power, but we are all aware at how it affects the environment surrounding it.
Woah woah woah
slow down there buddy!
"investing in a power source that has supplied our nation for years and trying to improve it with said investment, I guess that is a bad idea from what you say"
That's a regressive statement- it's like saying the USA was built on the back of slaves and so we must continue that. Or that for 2000 years we sent letters instead of e-mail so let's continue that.
Fact is, if a cheaper, less wasteful and less harmless alternative comes along, we move to that. We call it free-market/capitalism. Coal had it's run, now it's time to move on to cheaper alternatives because the power demand is going to increase exponentially in the next few decades. Data markets and technologies are booming and that is going to create a massive surge of energy demand. Bitcoin mining consumes more energy than the total demand of energy in Denmark. Can you scale the demand uptick if bitcoin markets increase tenfold?
Also, battery markets are achieving extraordinary technological advances, which is going to make the petro-based automobile industry obsolete within 2050. That's going to have a ripple effect on other conventional sources of energy. Do you really want to place your bets in coal industry in this situation?
"No power generation is good for your lungs or body for that matter," Got any proof of that? How do wind turbines destroy our body? How do Solar energy cause harm?
"solar and other minor means of clean energy will never meet the requirements of our society." Beg to differ, your honour

snigdhajyoti das, good reply.
I wonder why the empire state building was built in such a short time... Maybe because the workers had to work until they died and then simply got replaced by new ones, but what do I know?
There's a lot of factors. The biggest factor being that when it was built it was a very very simple building. Today's buildings have an incredible amount of overlapping infrastructure that needs to organized and installed, but back then it was steel beams, concrete floors, basic windows, minimal plumbing, and minimal electricity. Only 6 floors levels were actually finished enough to be used on the day it opened; the rest were completely empty and exposed structure. To bring the Empire State Building up to the modern standards it has today took an additional 80 years of work.
His point was on lowering regulations to get a building permit from 10 years to 2... he's not advocating what you're saying about working regulations, but what do I know?
Mexicans where probably the ones building it
Brayan Pineda no, not at all. Mainly Irish/Italian immigrants who were prominent during that time in New York. Chinese too.
k zi nothing about history. Working conditions sucked, but not as bad as u make it sound.
KLIN KOWL
Yeah the Empire State building was built quick. But they also used the poorest New Yorkers to do it in the most dangerous conditions with no safety or training.
Right up Trump's alley
Kyle Eaton his alley ;) xd
Those poor little boys. Please they knew what they had to do. It wasn't slave work.
What are they going to do instead then?
Didn’t hundreds of workers die to build it?
Clean coal new meme of February calling it now.
Mrlegitbeans I need this to be a thing asap
only for you normies trying to get memes from normal stuff
There is a difference between "coal" and "clean coal," dumbass. Clean Coal removes pollutant like sulfur and nitrogen oxides so that the syngas burns "cleaner" than coal.
coal is cleaner than nuclear or oil refineries. Whats your point? is coal not worth using?
thelastDAN
Nuclear has less deaths per Kw and releases less pollutants than any coal facility.
Good God did anyone in this comment section even watch the entire speech? Or even vote? ...Are y’all even old enough to vote??
Curious what word he meant @2:30, my current guess is territories but anyone have ideas other thoughts?
“Beautiful clean coal” nope... oxymoron... doesn’t work
Wow, great article very informative
ahhahah this is assuming libtards can even read.
AgnosticVeteran11B how is pumping the earth full of CO2 Any different from pumping the sky with it?
Some Dude Earth's flat folks, get on it
Clean coal, cleaner then coal, still dirtier then NG, Not to say it isnt impressive, but it is hardly the solution we should be putting our investment into. It is an oxymoron.
Is it normal for politicians to chant "USA" at these sorts of things? seems... unprofessional
Leocario shiny I was thinking that... For a second it felt like a Trump Rally...
I thought Hacksaw Jim Duggan was going to walk out on Stage there at the end
Leocario shiny no. because in this country it is shameful and unprefessional to show love and patriotism for the country you work for.
It's because they are trashy.

vox, you have now officially earned back my sub. congratulations
Make a video called "state of union fact checked"
darkdragonnasir YES I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE
Please please please do this I would trade a months worth of videos for that
Do it please
if u rely on VOX for fact checks, you'll be a dumbaas for life.
Business Momo, you might want a spell check.
“Beautiful clean coal. Trust me I’m, like, a smart person”
Mark. A. A very stable genius, might I add.
Maloney Bologna I am sure the coal workers who die from black lung find it comforting that technology makes "clean coal".
I was not misunderstanding, I just summed up what you said.
I don't know where you got your statistics from or how you interpret them, a quick google search told a different story.
What I do not understand is how someone can be "pretty happy" working the dirtiest job underground, when they could instead work on actually clean renewable energy sources. Coal is not even that profitable any longer. Since money is the only language Trump understands, money can be found in any kind of energy. Someone should explain to him that the future lies in the renewables and therefore it would be smart and profitable to jump on the wagon now instead of being left behind in the world.
Stop repeating the same thing, do some research snowflake
Mark, no, the smart person here is you of course.
"Clean coal" *promptly does spit take* dafuq!!!
aah, you've been living under the rock for the past few months...
have any extra place there?
you didn't think that they would take what he said out of context you must not be watching the news very much and fact checking btw obama likes clean coal too
"obama likes clean coal too" where do you get your news from? Hannity and Info Wars?!
666Tomato666 right here ua-cam.com/video/GpQxPCcSZUU/v-deo.html you should really check your facts before you get so pissy if you don't want to watch the whole video the start at about the 1 minute mark.
you said "likes", present tense, the correct one to use now is past tense, as in "liked"
or you trying to tell me that Mercury and Air Toxics Standards, and the Clean Power Plan are _pro_ coal?
or you don't believe that people can change their opinion based on new information?
All I heard was winning, winning, winning and more winning, and then we are going to do some more winning this year
Abyss 3 Only fools stare into the sun. Careful to not stare too long for you will always be led as a blind follower.
Learn to listen then
Say what you want, US politics is now great and terrible entertainment
Salokin say what you want, the economy has been doing well lately
Blitz it was doing well under Obama and has continued to do well under Trump. The consistency of the GDP growth has actually been historic
Yes, thanks to Obama
Salokin History's greatest and only 24 hour reality TV show.
Yes, companies are getting much better at exploiting their workers!
one thing I learned; coal *is* beautiful and clean - next thing you know he’ll say global warming is a hoax ... oh wait
ashleyxo your stupid
The United States Of America his stupid what?
It's called climate change.
ashleyxo because it is
I'm pretty sure he meant that the American process of producing energy using coal is alot more cleaner compared to other countries from which it was imported from. Which it is. The net co2 produces is way lower Vs imported coal energy.
Now how about adding some context?
I mean, thanks for the edits + the link, but an explainer video, contrasting topic by topic the points he makes in the speech would give us more to chew on.
"beautiful, clean coal." I don't know how he said that with a straight face
gotta love that beautiful clean coal
Nathan G *beautiful clean coal*
Nathan G This is gonna be the new meme of February
And the nose too, its fun to have black boogers.
I live in coal because it's clean.
Your stupid sam
You're*
The United States Of America But not as stupid as the president.
The United States Of America And not as stupid as a person that spells you're as your.
It's what plants crave
thank god for this video bc trying to watch it last night with all the constant applause was killing me
Thanks for the highlights!
Thanks for the speedy coverage! Y'all are fast folks. Fast folks indeed.
They just want views
IntensePeppers Nah they hope to get like 200 tops
True but it's different when you cover a news story that only highlights the most anti-liberal things Trump said as fast as possible
removing more regulations is anti-liberal things?
Andrew Kovnat bro, they cut out just about all the positive things and only left in this stuff. This wasn’t even a fifth of what he said, nor was it the relevant part.
I love me some clean coal sure keeps my lungs nice
Hudson Miller 😂😂
Hudson Miller
He said in an interview “they take the coal and they clean it!”
Hudson Miller 😂😢
we just scrub the carbon footprint right off
You Sir Are Legend 😂😂
Will there be a commentary by your channel describing the whole event and having the presidents statement fact checked?
I love how only 3 people clapped when he said "beautiful clean coal"
Did he just use clean and coal in the same sentence?
AgnosticVeteran11B The process may be true, but the name is a misnomer.
Clean coal is a term given to coal with few impurities that leave little to no residue behind after being burned. Its not to be confused with air quality, remember he denies global warming and so its clean to deniers. Take care
It's an industry term...like sweet crude oil...which does not really tastes sweet, Robin, so don't drink it!
Beautiful too
Stop repeating the same thing snowflake
Hate the excessive clapping
Jogie Glen Mait it was so annoying to watch and hear during the state of the union.
Jogie Glen Mait; get used to it.
It's to show agreement or support for each point that Trump talks about. You can clearly see the polarity within the US displayed strongly in the government.
Thats the single reason I never watch the state of the union, it would be like 20 minutes long if they didnt spend forever clapping
And excessive standing up
notice the switch to a blue tie, making him appear calmer, more reasonably than usual
I'm a conservative but I usually come to Vox or other such channels for a left wing view. What I just don't understand is why the Dems wouldn't stand or clap for anything, including positive statistics, the anthem, praise for first res ponders from past disasters or a host of other worthy things to be happy about. It's as if their hatred for Trump outweighs everything that they claim to support. I understand they dislike him, but can't you support the positive things he's done, or the vast compromises he is willing to take regarding immigration issues?
J Davis what happens when you put party over country
Very true it seems SGI
J Davis No it’s not like that. It’s just a sad partisan thing. Watch Obama’s SOTU or bushes or any presidents. The opposition party always sits stone faced
I assume that is true to an extent, but if you watch Bush's SOTU it's not like this at all.
It wasn't so long ago that Representative Wilson shouted "you lie!" in the middle of an Obama speech. This is something that happens on both sides.
The US is now being sued by asia because of your tariffs on solar tech
Thanks don for all those "clean coal" jobs...
Salokin dude you’re everywhere chill tf out lol
Oh well, buy American solar panels now.
Salokin so you are saying that import costs should not exist.
A Chinese company has announced going to make the panels in the US. The taffifs are to make US companies more competetive. Let them sue. Wh yare folks so afraid? O my!!!! They will sue us...lol
OK like I’m not paying lol make us
Clean coal is like smart Trump. Impossible.
Arnaud Chapeleur Clean coal as in cleaner less harmful ways to gain power from the coal. Why are democrats and republicans so close minded smh
Chase Eggeman and he meant fresh and like new coal too
Congrats, you know what the definition of "clean coal" is. If you knew even just a little bit more about it, you would understand Arnaud's comment.
You watch this 4 minuet video and that’s all you see? You’re what’s wrong with America
Arnaud Chapeleur oxymorons
And why is eliminating regulations an inherently good thing? The 2008 economic crisis was caused by a lack of regulations on the banks, which allowed them to be very reckless, except in Canada, where our banks are more regulated, which is why we were less effected than many other countries.
Is there any documentation on the regulations he removed?
What in the hell is he trying to sell?
Something dangerous
Coal.
clean coal, torture, nukes
America
Julio Guzman the American dream
"Rebuilding our nuclear arsenal" what are you talking about... Yes modernising but rebuilding?? Have you ever seen how much of that arsenal there is?? XD the USA has the biggest Nuclear arsenal... This guy is such a dweeb
Kolmorka Russia actually has more nuclear weapons then America.
Kolmorka "hopefully we will never have to use it" again he wants to have better stuff than the enemy does watch the whole video before commenting
TheLegend69 He has that already is my point
Zeno Rosé oh sry on that one... But it is not like it's an arms race anymore America could bomb the entire globe if it chose to so I don't think it would be necessary to get more than the ammount of weapons they currently have, especially if trump"never wants to use them hopefully"
Regardless on whether or not we should expand or reduce our arsenal, we do need to update our systems. The most dangerous weapons in the world shouldn't be running on floppy disks.
Thank God there’s a 4 minute recap, i am NOT trying to watch 2 hours of this
Clean coal? No problem. Just run it thru a quick cycle of your dishwasher. Tada!!
This is the same moron who just put tariffs on solar cells. (facepalm)
AZOffRoadster The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity made the term “clean coal” a household name through a 30 million dollar public relations campaign touting the benefits of clean coal technology.
Down Hill the money spent is not proportional to how “good” it is. It’s relative to how much the public understands what it is and the degree of urgency.
AZOffRoadster It’s an industrial process, better for the environment and what not
Ben Larsen
The processing of coal is clean-ER , but not the full production cycle, i.e. from mining to end goal.
Our main concern should be to focus around 70% our resources to advance our technology and materials & 30% going towards updating and maintaining current energy infrastructure and production methods.
Jonathan D
Please explain your reasoning to me ? I work with startups who are trying to push for incentives to help them expand and thrive, but in the system you mentioned I would see too many loopholes to really encourage corporations to do anything largely different.
Lol, so you just cut out the clapping.
Andrew Kovnat Lmao
The clapping might've seemed unnecessary to them, I mean it's just sound of course whatever he says is being clapped for
I know. I actually found it a bit repetitive and unnecessary with the amount they did it. I feel as though Trump could've said more with the same amount of time if they hadn't punctuated his every sentence with an applause.
Andrew Kovnat but he wouldn't have spoken if he wasn't being constantly applauded
Andrew Kovnat In fact, officials from legislative branch is required not to clap as a tradition to maintain neutrality of the event, because it’s a federal thing rather than a partisan thing. And you can see most clapping is from the president’s party.
wtf did i just watch
ua-cam.com/video/DgxZr6LLS34/v-deo.html
Jamie Liverett
Because nukes have so much to do with economics. Because fossil fuels will get humanity anywhere in the next decades.
I would try to argue with you, but I honestly don‘t have the time nor the energy to explain everything over and over again. I know you won‘t believe or even properly „listen“ to me. You’d rather believe that guy.
So yeah, f*ck that.
Jamie Liverett
Oh and the hitler thing? Apparently you don‘t either?
Jamie Liverett You shouldn't talk about "educating yourself" and than state that Hitler was a "democratic socialist".
*YOU JUST WATCHED A LEFTIST ORGANIZATION TAKE 3 MINUTES OF TRUMP QUOTES OUT OF CONTEXT TO MAKE HIM LOOK WORSE.*
Vox, can you another video where it has the blurb at the bottom saying things like "stock market has gone up worldwide, this would happen with any president" basically a fact checker?
Why is he saying coal is good? You should go green, get back into the Paris Accord, and become an example for the world!
Cole Haskins I'm an american and I couldn't agree more, just goes to show you how Trump misrepresents this country
It's far too expensive to go green. Especially when the United States is absolutely plentiful in natural resources, especially coal.
If we invested in more green energy sources, the Government would likely have another shutdown as the US Government simply can't afford it within the budget.
Coal is good, we have all lived through this so called “environmental crisis” throughout our lives.
What did the Paris Accord do to limit China and India, the two largest polluters in the world?
wherever the money goes baby
Read about the real state of the union, the things Trump failed to mention, on Vox.com: bit.ly/2DR5ZQx
Stop divinding Americans with your propaganda and liberal agenda. We need to UNITE.
Bernie sanders called out trump on all his bullshit in his response: ua-cam.com/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/v-deo.html

DUDEEEEE omg im dead
Anybody watching from September 2013?
Edward Hill September 2001 actually.
Drew Ramstetter are you watching before September 11, 2001
Wait 2013! Warn everyone America is stupid enough to elect trump in 2016 as president.
Anyone watching on November 22, 1963?
Also buy a ton bitcoin and sell it all in December 2017. You're welcome
Did he face the Rep. side the whole speech? I don't recall that being usual, but interesting.
Thank god this exists. I need to do an essay, and this just saved five hours of my life.
"clean coal"???????
The Dubstep Channel yeah I kinda questioned that but Wiki clean coal had an explanation. Now the real question is the cost of what looks like a long process to obtain clean coal.
"Google"?????
I too polish my coal

because that's the way to go 😀
That freaky fascist chanting at the end...chilling.
So this is how liberty dies with thunderous applause.
hipster doofez How is deregulation the fall of liberty? I keep hearing claims of fascism bit can't remember one fascist nation that started by shrinking government.
Honestly, it's become like listening to a child. How he says obviously false things as if they were known facts.

hadi erturk what did he lie about?
henk koonstra dat clean coal tho
Majidul - climate change is a scam
henk koonstra no, no it is not.
I was just thinking that there should be a version without all that wasted time clapping
lol at the beginning that one guy just stands up alone.
"Clean coal"
"Rebuild the nuclear arsenal"
We might just say good bye to our lives.
I use coal as soap because it's *clean*
he did not write that himself he was actually saying whole sentences
anybody else think that the last little chanty part was odd? It was the sotu... not a football game
Why am I watching this year old video. I'm not even american.
its so sad to see him disregard every science fact in 4 minutes
Man64U Yes he doesn't believe a bunch of bureaucrats at the UN boo hoo
Милен Байков Ok Mr. Russian bot. Are you going to pull out "but Hillary" card in your next argument? There are actual scientists with PhDs in democratic party. How many scientists are in the republican party? Dont get me wrong, two party system is just bad for America but democrats are more reasonable than the republicans.
Милен Байков You Russian bots are here to confuse the American people. Russian bots like you are the ones who dislike every video that says something negative about Trump, not the American people. Polls show that Trump is the most disliked President in the history of Usa.
Милен Байков Pol Pot? Ok bye 4chan kid.
Милен Байков www.businessinsider.com/why-are-so-many-scientists-democrats-2016-8?r=US&IR=T&IR=T Im done with you troll. I saw you under other comments aswell. Crawl back to 4chan kiddo and leave politics for the grown ups.
What I learned today: coal is both clean and beautiful. “Words of wisdom” from Trump.
If I say BEAUTIFUL CLEAN COAL loud enough, maybe people will start to think it’s a real thing.
Nothing on the tragic stories that were shared in this speech in your video?
It's like Trump skipped the last year and lived in another world than everyone else. Oh wait, he did.
Yeah, well, when has he ever lived in our world, right? Best case scenario, he was born and raised in an uber wealthy environment, that alone is already a vastly different experience of life than any of us.
sad to hear repeats of the bias media in your post.
Batman Jr. he was getting us tax cuts. You're probably to unqualified and to uneducated to even hold a job to know about tax cuts.
And he is bringing companies back from China to give jobs to Americana
Batman Jr. Well I think we are better than one year ago. I am not a republican, but I think he is doing just great
Did he just say beautiful, clean coal?
“BEAUTIFUL CLEAN COAL” [insert spongebob mocking meme here]
How did everyone stomach watching even a second more of this?
Nevermind the government shutting down or anything 🤷🏻♂️
ImpastaSauce ahh a trump fan I see
Well technically it was a shutdown pushed by the likes of Schumer...
Jacob Murray the government controlled by the republicans couldn’t strike a deal with the dems over DACA. Both parties take obstructionist roles when they are the minority party in congress. Republicans shutdown the government over Obamacare during the Obama administration and the dems did it over DACA. Not a dem only thing
That_llama_in_a_tuxedo I never said it was. The context was specific to the more recent.
It’s not that uncommon
Yesterday night I got hungry, the only thing I could find in my fridge was "beautiful clean coal" yuuum. Now i'm lying in a hospital. Thanks Mr. President.
Lol, but seriously though solar panels kill way less people than coal per KW.
How is this satire even funny?
You will not go to the hospital for eating coal
Exactly. Coal acts like fiber in the body (it isn't digested), and usually doesn't contain enough toxic material to be dangerous. You could go eat a lump of coal right now, and you might vomit from the taste, but that's about it.
Charcoal is a little different, but I digress. Eat all the coal you want, just don't eat too much.
Actually coal could do more good than harm to your body. We’re talking about eating it not about using it as an energy source.
YOU LIED TO ME.........
ITS 3 min 58sec NOT 4 MINUTES.
This 4-minute video gave me a headache from rolling my eyes so often. I can’t even imagine watching the whole thing
Beautiful. Clean. Coal. Guess we’re putting lead back in pencils too.
I still can't believe this man ACTUALLY believe that coal makes earth better
He doesn't believe that, he serves the interests of people getting rich off coal.
mdjey2, tear apart the Middle East for energy? Though I won’t deny that we have a presence there, it’s not for energy, as only about 0.6% of our energy comes from petroleum.
www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3
You act like we go there to steal oil, which isn’t true. We buy it.
Shoulders of Giants yeah let the earth die
he isn't backed by anyone
and it takes way more energy to make the material and infrastucture for wind and solar wich isn't reliable 100% of the time. look at germany. wind a solar subsidies from their government and now they have shortages and surpluses. you may think that a surplus of energy is great but there is no way to store it and the grid can't handle it. so Germany's solution to their surplus is to PAY neighboring countries to TAKE their surplus energy. so what is your solution? or are you going to sit their and call people stupid?
"or anyone else"
not saying it's aliens... but it's aliens.
Is it me, or does it always look like he’s reading his speeches for the first time?
As a brit I found it strange that even high status people in the crowd chanted USA USA USA at the end, is every American deluded by patriotism?
heyits- alex no but we are actually proud of our country
About 40% of Americans are deluded.
yes.
MasterHutto tbh chanting USA over and over again sounds pretty ignorant, tribal, and nationalistic. Pretty disgusting to hear our representatives in Congress do it
Hey dumbass... people from all over the world kill themselves to get here. If it sucks so bad, WHY??????
I'm from Canada, so it's not entirely fair for me to comment on American politics.
I did see in the full length speech that he talked about making changes to the American prison system. Increase reform and lower damning sentence lengths. That seemed really important to me as an outsider! I think that should have been included in your recap.
He also talked about his immigration policy for like half an hour. That probably should've been mentioned too. Even though I, and I suspect vox, don't agree with his politics. I don't think that means one should skip it.
Great videos vox :)
It's hard to get everything in a short video like this. I applaud you for trying, though!
...included in your recap, eh!
We the people in the USA HATE TRUMP he does not speak for us! We do not hate immigrants we do not belittle women ... he speaks for himself and his billionaire/millionaire golf buddies
half of the usa loves trump
l chuckled. Thanks for the laugh
39% right now. Lowest of any president since Gerald Ford. Only 12 states have a 50% or higher approval rating.
Did you edit it down to 3 minutes by just cutting out all the self-congratulatory applause?
01:02 *beautiful* *clean* *coal* LOL 💀💀😄
I watched it all and I could've done it in 4 minutes?
wtf man!
“Clean coal”, something isn’t adding up 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I watched the whole thing on VOX, thank you for the coverage. It seems that he paused for applause every 5 seconds, there may be more applause than speech...
Thank you for editing out all the damn excessive clapping😂
