At 31, I miss the late 90's and early 2000's when i truly believed that our government cared about us - the people (remember folks, i said "believed"). It's very sad to see that political drama, insentive of political salary, and overall distraction from progress is more important to these politicians. I hope we one day have politicians that are truly open and willing have a dialog with people of a different poinion than their own. We will then, finally, be able to find a comon ground and begin the process of restoring this contry.

What do WE need from a president? There isnt some sort of litmus test that tells us who are the best Presidents to vote for. What do WE need? We do not need them to be able to physically fight or plan to ambush anyone. We don't need them to solve complex mathematical equations like Steven Hawkings or, invent the next light bulb. We don't need them to hunt for food (although it might help.) What do WE need?
First and foremost, we need them to be a positive product of America herself. A hard worker! Like us! You should want no days off when you become the General of the Worlds Strongest Military. We need the President to strap on their boots and carry this beautiful nation on their back once in a while (and we shall do the same for them.) We need them to do this all, while never jeopardizing their integrity. We dont need another tenured politician.

In his response to MTG, he basically laid out the reason why no one on the republican side really wants to fix the problem. They just want to use it as in issue to run for election. The system incentivizes the exploitation of cheap labor by making incredibly difficult to get them some kind of status or even deport them, thus ensuring a pool of cheap labor is available.

you know what's another bad part of all this? biden's government passed a bill that would eliminate another batch of student loan debt and republicans say he is trying "to buy votes" ... not to help people, not to assist people, not to fulfill campaign promises, not to better the american people... to buy votes? if you do something that benefits someone, you are buying votes, then what are you supposed to do as your job in politics?
