감사합니다 is the Korean spelling of "kam-sa-hab-ni-da" which together and spoken comfortably can sound like "kam-sam-ni-da" because the "ㅂ"(b-sound) isn't strong and gets lost. If you were to use "가" (meaning "go") then you'd be glared at if you spoke to someone older. You should either use 가요 (ga-yo) in general to be polite; or 가세요 (ga-sae-yo) which is extremely polite and can translate to "please go". You likely wouldn't use those terms very often, though.
Hangul (the Korean alphabet) is actually quite easy to learn, I was able to learn the basics in 2 days and the rest in just 4 so if you want to learn Korean don't get scared by the alphabet😄👍

I speak Spanish, English and Intermediate Korean, and we don’t use this sound as much as they do. Also in Spanish we don’t have that vowel although we hear it as “o”, and I’ll say that in Spanish we tend to use “a” to do the same thing which is pretty close in mouth/tongue position as 어.
