Bob Shmurda No it doesn’t ruin his legacy. Everyone does something they later regret. Even Malcolm X himself regrets some of the things he said and did as Muslim. One of which he had an encounter with a young white college girl who approached and asked what she can do to help make things better. He dismissed and said she can do nothing. He said years later he regretted the way he treated her. We all make mistakes the important thing is we learn from them.
I feel bad for Muhammad Ali one of his closest friends he ended up leaving him they separated in not a good way probably something he regretted when he died
EVERYTIME i think of this man and what he achieved in his life... where he came from and where he reached at his peak.. brings nothing but a tear of joy and sadness all rolled into one. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.
otacon8us he had them under his control. I mean even Talmage Hayer (the real shooter) gave the names of the four other assassins after Elijah’s death. He even admitted to being brainwashed by Elijah and thinking that anyone who was against him was better off dead and showed remorse. I’m not saying we shouldn’t forget what he did but I can see his point as many members of the Nation who grew up under Elijah also know that some folks were so blinded that they would literally kill for him.
William Feliciano hell yeah it does.. especially that song in the beginning, and way he was looking before they shot him. Just amazing how heartless of a person to take another life especially when this man wanted to help and save people.
It is so crazy the parallels of 2 Pac and Malcolm X, they both were good friends of famous fighters, they both were activists, they both were cut down by they're own community, and this song was Pacs favorite song, is what Danny Boy said, he said Pac used to ask him to sing it to him all the time, and as he was passing away in the hospital in Vegas in a coma, Danny Boy said he sung it to him, and Pac started crying even though his eyes wasn't open, his story is on UA-cam
@@morehyeshiahtorahlessons5545 Malcolm X used to be a street pimp named “Detroit Red” among other criminal activities he was into. It’s why he went to prison and ended up a muslim.
yeah im wondering if that's historical... if ali heard that playing when he got news ...or michael mann n spike lee researched n found out that radio put that song on after the news. but this rendition- is that cooke singing? doesnt sound like his voice to me...could be wrong though.
I was born by the river in a little tent Oh and just like the river I've been running ever since It's been a long, a long time coming But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will
Ali and Malcolm X were great friends. They became disconnected when Malcolm split from the nation of Islam. They say Malcolm took about 30 bullets to his body.
Mario Van Peebles also had his limitations...While Mario's facial features looked a lot like Malcolm, the real Malcolm was a lot taller and thinner than him. As for Denzel, his skin tone was just too dark but he had his mannerisms, physical appearance and voice pretty close.
Man...such a fucking tragedy, the good die young..I guess it rings true, eh? Malcolm was escaping from the narrow minded view that it should only be BLACK and pure black in one sector of the world. He realized..that no matter what color, we can still get along. R.I.P
+Jonathon Whitty That's the opposite of what Malcolm was for xD Do you listen to his teachings at all? Our brother Malcolm followed the teachings of Elijah Mohammed.
Just 2 months before Malcolm was shot and killed (By black men, don't ever forget that) Sam Cooke, who Ali was friends with, was also shot dead Tough times, and Ali only just turned 23 at the time
He wasn't killed by black men. It was blammed on black men. The shooters were given blanks. Look at his dead body youll see three gun shot wounds in close proximity. He was hit by pros from am elvated position
Killed by black men under the order of a black man who was afraid of his influence after his returned from mecca and we all know who it is .. hakktuiihh
This scene made me cry... RIP to the legends, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Gandhi and EVERYONE else who wanted freedom and peace... and ended up dying for it. A toast to the dead.
im not sure how accurate this scene is . muhammad ali was not talking to malcolm at around the time of his death. and interviews i have seen of muhammad, he didnt seem too upset at malcoms death, seemed more concerned that malcolms people were going to take revenge against him being a NOI member.
+Angela Moore (“Angie”) The original's Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" but there it's Otis' version of course ;) (personally i prefer Sam's) but ALL this movie's OST is Great as F*ck ... loved it and still love it anytime i'm watchin it ...
Malcolm's bodyguard was an FBI informant and not to long after Malcolm was shot Ali's apartment was "mysteriously" set on fire. I have a deep respect for these men so it's sad that their friendship shattered.
If anyone wants to know, the song "Odessa" isn't the one used on the ALI Score, it's called "Ceremony." It's derivative from Odessa. They only used the last minute of the song in the movie.
What gets me is that some black people call themselves kangz and Jews and yet don't realise the significance of Malcolm X. My so-called brother in-law tried to mock me for wearing a t-shirt bearing Malcolm X's likeness and yet white people have said how much they like the t-shirt. Oh, the irony.
Well actually some people are, they are born with more Female hormones then male. This tends to lean towards turning them gay, or feminine unlike other males. The influence of their mother/sister(s) helps develop this hormone even further
What's the name of the music playing right before Malcolm X is killed? THE poignant cello melody. I used to know but can't for the life of me remember.
i thought this Malcolm X role would've put Mario Van Peebles back on the hollywood map like John Travolta. Haven't heard about him since this 2001 movie.
One of the best scenes in the cinematography history. Even Malcolm X movie (Denzel Washington-Spike Lee), which I admire could not give this scene, feeling better.
Pray for Afghanistan brothers and sisters.
Pray I hit Lotto , Powerball or somethin, cause daddy need a new pair of shoes.
Mario Van Peebles looked more like Malcolm X than Denzel did, but Denzel played him better.
Truth. Mario looked JUST like Malcolm.
such a short scene, it wasnt paramount for him to portray him 100% accurately
He did, he also seems mixed instead of full black (like the real Malcolm X) unlike Denzel.
The guy who played Malcolm briefly in Selma bares the most resemblance
ReeLoy Kenjins Let me guess. You're white? We don't need you to tell us Malcom was part white. So are most African Americans. So what.
Malcom X and Muhummad Ali
Two of the most beautiful human beings of our time.
Thats right .....
floyd maywather and lil wayne
3abdo 😂😂😂
ubaidakhtar1 don't forget about Martin Luther King.
The ladies man D Awesome right
Ali even said that he always regretted turning his back on Malcolm.
Everyone regrets after the fact...... Hearing that about Ali in my opinion almost destroys his entire legacy.
But it was Ali's bodyguard that took part in the murder....
One of the saddest days in history
ProBody3000 EVER!!!!!!!!
Disgusting. Elijah should be ashamed
I feel bad for Muhammad Ali one of his closest friends he ended up leaving him they separated in not a good way probably something he regretted when he died
Crazy Bruja not really but that’s cool
Malcolm`s left his mark. He is still alive in our thoughts and in our hearts. A great man indeed. Great being a gross understatement.
Crazy Malcolm would have been 95 years old if he was alive.
EVERYTIME i think of this man and what he achieved in his life... where he came from and where he reached at his peak.. brings nothing but a tear of joy and sadness all rolled into one. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.
Rip Ali. The greatest is now in the greatest place
Absolutely. Beautiful way to put it.
Greatest no legend yes
i was living in new york when malcolm x was assassinated. i remember my mom saying they finally got him. sad!
how old are you
Kj Hammerman I really like Malcolm X
cold.
They finally got him? they didn't want him to die
No, they just knew he can't do it forever, the powerful people can't allow it obviously.
Ali couldn't even mourn Malcom's death in public until Elijah Muhammad passed away.
otacon8us he had them under his control. I mean even Talmage Hayer (the real shooter) gave the names of the four other assassins after Elijah’s death. the scene gives you goosebumps dont it
William Feliciano hell yeah it does.. especially that song in the beginning, and way he was looking before they shot him. Just amazing how heartless of a person to take another life especially when this man wanted to help and save people.
Not just goose bumps brother - tears, every time.
Yes indeed
the violin piece during this is just haunting.
Muhammad Ali said that turning his back on Malcolm was his biggest regret
I am Sad from Malcolms Death,Malcolm Your in a Better place Now,Peace Be On To You
One of the most saddest, unforgettable, moving, significant, and powerful moments in history.
Malcolm X is a great man.
Van peebles was great portraying Malcolm X underestimated actor

Pac rolled with Bloods and was horrible regarding Biggie. Biggie wasn't Pac's problem.
Pac was shown beating another black man up.

Malcolm X
(1925-1965)
I love that they paid tribute so mich to the denzel movie with this scene
They paid tribut to malcom x not to will smiths movie
Leonard Perez They both used the same Sam Cooke song for the Malcolm X scene. At least that's what I think he was referencing.
yeah im wondering if that's historical... if ali heard that playing when he got news ...or michael mann n spike lee researched n found out that radio put that song on after the news.
but this rendition- is that cooke singing? doesnt sound like his voice to me...could be wrong though.
god bless you Malcolm x
Always thought the car scene was emotional but now i understand how powerful it was.
He lives FOREVER
this made me cry the first time i seen it and the Sam Cooke music it was such a powerful scene
This version is actually the live version of when Al Green sung it. Which is my favorite version
I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I've been running ever since
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will
Always my hero Malcolm 😢😢
Ali and Malcolm X were great friends. They became disconnected when Malcolm split from the nation of Islam. They say Malcolm took about 30 bullets to his body.
That out of focus beating on the steering wheel scene. . Very cenimatic powerful choice of storytelling .
Scene makes me burst in tears every time I see it...
Lost his friends Sam and Malcolm months apart..
This was depressing but I mainly like the death scene of Malcolm X in the movie Malcolm X it just felt much more powerful
I think Mario was a closer clone of Malcom then Denzel
Mario looks much more like Malcolm X, but Denzel played him more convincingly.
I think the Denzel scene was better
I can tell
+thepunkster90x most definitely
I agree Denzel did a better job!
+thepunkster90x Difference being of course this movie (and scene) is about Ali, not Malcolm. I really don't think they should be compared
+Paul Kamin Agreed brother. That's what I was going to say.
I'm Type of Man to believe I died 20 years ago , and I live like a man who's dead already .... I have no fear what so ever of anybody or anything
Yes this scene was electrifying. Spike Lee and Michael Mann take on malcolm x assassination was both moving
just finished his his autobiography, what a great fucking man was malcolm x, rest in peace
RIP and I thank you for what you stood for🙏🏾💯
Sam Cooke - a change gonna come
Malcolm X will NEVER be forgotten💞💞
ironically the same song that was playing in the movie Malcolm X during the ride to his last speech where he was killed
r.i.p martin luther king, rest in peace malcolm X little, if i lived in those days i swear i would of helped both men...
His last words were “Peace be Unto You.” And then they shot him. His ending was so antithetical to his last words
Mario Van Peebles also had his limitations...While Mario's facial features looked a lot like Malcolm, the real Malcolm was a lot taller and thinner than him.
As for Denzel, his skin tone was just too dark but he had his mannerisms, physical appearance and voice pretty close.
Too dark?

whoever played Malcolm did a fantastic job
Malcolm X was a Spartacus to his people.
Malcolm knew he was going to die.
Man Malcolm x was a powerful man like wow This is jus emotional

CIA killed him...hired blacks, gave them blanks...they rentedthe ballroom before...the autopsy showed he was shot from above,
They will pay a black man to kill a black man just to say a black man did it - Malcolm x
The world lost a hero that night, rest in peace Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali.
Finally looking up this scene and the one from the Malcom X movie to compare...
:(
I’m sure FarahCON somewhere smiling. RIP X

simply one of the most well made scenes i have ever seen.
Ali: Brother R U Crazy?
Guy: They shot Malcolm.
r.i.p maclom x the greatest
his family felt the cold chill of reality
Ali was only like 25 years old and he lost Malcolm and Sam Cooke smh think about that
That moment knowing Malcolm died must have truly and deeply eaten away at Ali for a very long time.
Morgan freeman Malcolm X dropped down during his assignation, Denzal Washington filled out during his's, Mario Peebles flew back---wow!
This scene made me cry... RIP to the legends, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Gandhi and EVERYONE else who wanted freedom and peace... and ended up dying for it. A toast to the dead.
Ghandi...the racist
The song at the end is called A change is gonna come

And I still hate that Will was not awarded for this performance.
That sound like Otis Redding singing this song in this movie. And they had Sam Cooke singing the same song in Spike Lee's Malcolm X movie.
