Corgi restoration Chevrolet Impala Kennel Club No. 486 Toy model cast.

The Corgi company produced this model between 1967 and 1970, and it is one of many Impala variants in Corgi history. My very dilapidated model did not have dogs in its equipment. I borrowed two dogs to copy from a friend in the Czech Republic. The third Corgi dog I copied from another model of this company. It took me a long time to reconstruct the front lamps on the driver's side. I fitted the resin copy I had made. As usual, I made the box from 230-grit cardboard and printed it at a digital printer. My two favorite were the Olds Tornado with the pop up lights and the Mercedes 600 Pullman limo with the working windshield wipers.

I always like watching the transition from before and after... One thing I have noted - when you remake the Windows/ Windscreens etc., you mold from the Outside measurement, so isn't the replacement is slightly larger than the original? I know the replacement is likely thinner material, but still. I know it is not Precision as such, but does it make it more difficult to get a good snug fit?

Thank you very much, is this difference practically unnoticeable with models on a scale of 1 to 43? Smaller models sometimes have this problem. It all depends on the construction of the glass. In the case of small models, I try to sand off some of the top layer to cover the excess. Best regards.
