I am now 70 years old almost 71. My brother and I had for fish tanks full of fish and had a neighbor friend our age who also had quite a few fish tanks and another kid in the neighborhood we weren't friends with but also raised fish to sell. My brother and I and his friend John we just had fun with our fish the other neighbor boy sold some fish two friends but I don't remember too much about him. I had fish tank setup in my classroom through the years I don't have any fish at the moment. The reason I started to write this comment was because I wish I was 10 years old again at this time in the world where there's all this knowledge that can be gained from UA-cam. My brother and I tried to read every fish book or magazine the Pittsburgh library could bring us to the bookmobile. There weren't any other places to learn about tropical fish. This is amazing and thank you so much for filming this video and posting it on UA-cam I appreciate it and enjoyed watching it this evening thank you so much
@My Pets I found the internet a long long time ago! I taught school and I taught computer Camp during the summer... I used computer programs to help my kids with math, each student had their own spelling list of words so my spelling was individualized theater computer... we use computer programs for algebra so I wasn't some little old lady knitting sweaters and then discovered the internet teehee
I was born & raised in South FL in the 60's & 70's and had a fish farm very close by. They had their tropical fish in ponds and during the rainy season or a storm they would flood and release fish. The canals in the area were full of swordtails, mollies, goldfish, etc.!!! During big storms when the roads flooded, I'd take a net and catch fish out of the streets.... had a beautiful aquarium and didn't pay for a single fish.... caught them all out of the canals or street!!!
Classic s. Florida , I dunno whats more iconic exotic species or flooded roads and canals!!!! I remember wading through waste deep water seeing large aquatic life swimming past in parking lots and avenues....
3 years too late but damn what a facility! The amount of fish and the coloring is amazing! Looks pretty low tech but it does the trick. All the little pieces of nature that just popped up between the holding tanks just gives this farm a very nice touch. I loved it!
A few years ago I unknowingly contacted FEFS and was inquiring about visiting and purchasing fish as a beginner. Rick got me in contact with the owner of the closest fish store they supply to and they both worked out a list for me. On his next shipment of fish to the store I had my own shipment separate with special reduced pricing. Such a great guy, he and his wife and such amazing fish. They are so passionate as well. I have two 75 gallon tanks all Tanganyikan and all from Florida Exotic they are going strong and very very healthy. lots of babies since then too. lots of fun great hobby. Thanks FEFS oh the fish love the food as well.
Watching from Scotland. Seriously impressed with this guys knowledge, the amazing fish variety and sizes. The grounds. There's just so many boxes ticked here! I have never been so engaged in watching anything! Thank you to the guy who recorded it all beautifully and the amazing shots he got as well as the great questions. Seriously impressed. Subscribed and will be looking for more content like this. Longest review I've ever written but feel like it doesn't even come close to how much praise all this should get!
The fact that literally every inch of that place is sprawling with fish with some not even in the tubs is both hilarious and fascinating to me. Beautiful fish, and very eye opening!
That facility is fascinating!! What a fish paradise! He knows his fish too! He's like, "Hey Hector what's going on with these guys?" and the reply is oh we ran out of such and such. He's very hands on and tuned in to what's goin on. Thanks for sharing this place with us!!!!!!
Awsome video! As a lfs owner of over 22 years it makes me so happy to see people in my industry still loyal to the independent shops and not just undercutting them by selling online. Great people!
This blew me away, wow, I'm new to Cichlid, these fish are really nice. Thanks a lot for spending time to take us around all around the world into these farms.
I cannot explain to you how much I enjoyed this video, I am a Rift Lake nerd and wish I could hit the like button 1000x. I like your channel regardless even though it doesn't gear towards what I keep and I like how you are showing so many different facets of the hobby. I have always said this is one of the most spectacular hobbies anyone can get into due to how diverse it is - I really appreciate you taking your time to get good video of Florida Exotic Fish Farm. Keep up the great work and all the best
Sir, I'm just a rookie with African cyclids, I have a couple of lemon cyclids that have taken me 3 times and I'm in love with these fish, watching this video has made me want to learn and raise them. Congratulations on having such beautiful fish. By the way I am Cuban from Cuba but I am writing in English so you can understand me perfectly.
I really enjoyed this! "Tamala"I wish we could've seen your "Shell Dweller Cichlids" ... I bet they are to die for. We need a part two?🤗 thanks for taking time outta you're day to share this amazing footage!
Hey, Something Fishy in Cleveland was mentioned at the end of this video. I go there and it is a great place just south of DT Cleveland. Also purchased a 150G aquarium from the owner Dave.
I have watched this entire video from beginning to end. My idea of a cichlid is my angels, but these are some of the most beautiful fish I’ve ever seen.
one of the most wonderful exoctic species of cichlids which only experienced aquarists can experience and can be shown off to an aquarium club...just wonderful ..only a matter of time far-east breeders will be left redundant due to transport prices..
Love it, I have kept fish for about 45yrs on and off depending on where I was based, etc. Cichlids were my favourite fish I bred Blue Acara's as a 10yr old and swapped them at club meets I am sure the old guys were very generous. This makes me so jealous. I would love to work there, after a career in law enforcement I would gladly swap. What on earth is the water bill?
That’s an awesome farm.! Love the cichlids and the store Something Fishy he mentioned is my local store here in Cleveland. Great to know. 👍🏻 Thanks for the great video
Very nice video and Breeding farm. A dream to an old man like me. Even on vacation around the USA I traveled with half gallon or a gallon with a few fish in them. and when I stayed at a cabin or motel for a week or more I would sent up a 2-3 gallon. I felt like I need fish around me. However after living in the Philippines and saw the way salt water fish were treated and how many were lost I have been on salt water fish strike for about 40 years now. If I was not so old I would think about getting some breed in Florida. Visiting breed farms is so exciting. To each his own.
in my opinion, I think this is just beautiful. but what about including some sort of AQUAPONICS in this?! almost everything is there, I think that I would even find grants to uproot my family, go across the country to intern with my son and daughter to help, learn and teach. wow, just wow! THUMBS WAY UP!!! From the west coast with much love! R.
Randy! wow is right. I was mesmerized the whole time. I wish you could pass on my gratitude to Rick and Tamela for the privilege to have a quick run-through of their fish farm. I appreciate it very much. #< Fishez
Awesome to see the magic! I have quite a few of his fish indirectly via Spencer whom brings a ton of his fish up here, and I always scoop them up! Amazing Quality!
:) Yeah, I collect watches, and probably love blue dials the best. Lots of people in the watch community, actually, prefer blue dials. I read that it may be because blue is such a soothing color - good for anxiety / stress, etc. Thinking of getting another aquarium. I haven't had one for like 20 years. But I used to have 3 aquariums in my room. I don't remember having many blue fish, but I did have a blue Opaline Gourami.
Those were some beautiful fish. It seems like the pet stores would want to advertise that they get their fish from this particular farm. "They don't want to put my name on the label." That's a mistake, this guy's doing it right. It'd be cool if he sold straight to consumer on-line. Watching this made me want to get an aquarium set up. I've always loved Cichlids.
What an incredible fish farm. They could seriously make money on just giving tours of their unique farm. I would certainly pay to see it in person and listen to all the priceless knowledge.

Large F for the ecosystem
@@conglomerateofants9166 lol that's what I was thinking but still cool
@@conglomerateofants9166 Yeah, I don't imagine the native fish liked that very much.
@@youraverageimperialguard7932 we have some pretty tough native fish here in Florida 😏

Looks like heaven. Watching the fish swim and sound of water makes you happy. Thanks for sharing.
The owner seems excited to share his knowledge. More blessings to that guy.
holy moly, that's what you call experience. The guy said that there were 60 in the bucket. I counted, it was 62 - more or less.
you actually counted
I counted i think its more than 70
79. i counted it
Rightly so, the amount of knowledge that he had was incredible.
I counted closer to 80...
The fact that literally every inch of that place is sprawling with fish with some not even in the tubs is both hilarious and fascinating to me. Beautiful fish, and very eye opening!
Gotta have some hobby fish hanging about aswell 👌
Amazing what you can do with year round hospitable weather
Muwahahahahahahahaha yes, i laugh so hard when i watch it
At 15:10 what fish does he scoop up please help?
Id pay 2 dollas for a walking tour of the place
This is amazing! I shared this video link on my channel as well so that all the African Cichlid fans can catch this.

It's tremendously inspiring to see real passion in someone doing what they love.
OMG this is the same guy lol 😅
Appreciate the tour! Owner is cool as hell I could chill with him all day
Randy did a wonderful job with this video. He asked the right questions and got the perfect shots. Thank you for another awesome video!!!!

Probably rival cichlid fish farmers 😉

**You can buy their foods on our website here** geni.us/XtremeFood.
What is the cold that holds the African cyclad
Do you sell their food in bulk like 4-5 lbs? Thanks.
How can I get some of these fishes to buy from you guys?
No chiclid on that site
send to Brazil?

By far the best farm video I have seen - the fish, the colors, the quality - I wish I owned a store to get some of them. Just WOW.
Loveddddd This, this was SO interesting. The fish were just stunning. Thanks, this was a real treat to see.
Nice video I watched the entire 37:28 without skipping. Loved that huge pond in the ground with the steps, that was great.

I had a question on a other videos and I wondering what the fish called..
Watching this as a replay and really enjoying all of the information. Very educational.
Great job Randy! I liked the questions you asked and the way you ask them, they aren't premeditated just on the spot.
This is the best fish farm vid on UA-cam. Nice work!
I would love to work there, calming, lovely weather, and fish 😍
I hope they’re all okay and spared from the recent hurricane. Beautiful fish.
i dont even like cichlids but watched the whole video. great vid :)

AWESOME SAUCE!!! Very knowledgeable and down to earth people. Thumbs up!!! Nice shooting, too.
"We really don't want one male or something to become super aggressive and taking a spot and wacking everybody.." LOOOOVEE!!! 😃🤣😂
He is right once you place a little hiding spot, the most dominant one will smoke every fish in the tank scared to lose it to them

Amazing fish farm, fish colours are exceptional.

I've never seen color on a Gar or a BuccoNoto like I saw in this video. Amazing. Love Rick's passion. Enjoyed this video quite a bit. Thank you!
I imagine it makes a big difference when you keep them outside in the sunshine & in fresh calcium rich coral rock well water 24/7.
