The recipe works. It took about 18 hrs for my yogurt to get tangy when left out on the counter, overnight. The brand I used ("Native", green can) got very thick when refrigerated (if anyone has every tried Siggy's Triple Cream yogurt - it's as thick as that). Consistency was little grainy but, overall, a perfect substitute for dairy yogurt. I tried another UA-camr's recipe for coconut which required more steps and arrowroot flower that did not turn out well. Joy's recipe is fast and I got the consistency I needed.
Glad to hear you made it with success! It's so yummy. Enjoy!
Follow up: for some reason, the Native Forest Simple coconut milk no longer separates when I refrigerate it. The water and cream stay mixed. I’ll try the Cha’s brand.
@@joyoushealth Hi, joy I've watched your video Im from the UK and I purchased the probiotic you suggested but I chose the 50 billion option. I just wanted to ask how many capsules would you recommend I use for 4 cans? I'm making this for my dad mainly as he has just been diagnosed with C.... So I want to try build his gut health he suffers terrible with indigestion and has done for years.. I do also pln on making bone broth and sauerkraut..
For those that are wondering, the shelf life of this coconut yogurt is 7-10 days in the fridge.
Amazing! Let me know how it works out this time :)
That's odd. Maybe it didn't ferment long enough or perhaps it wasn't in a warm enough place?
do you think this is ok for a 8 month old baby? she has milk allergy. She has had store bought coconut yoghurt
Also how much probiotic if you do not have capsule and just have powder
That's up to your own discretion but it should be okay given that she'll be having it in small amounts. This probiotic specifically is dairy-free
i am for ever grateful to all the you tubers who put out videos such as this to help those of us who suffer from food problems, in order to cope in this world. God bless you all
Thanks!
lulu k Amen and well said!!!
Lulu k Amen. I feel the same way. 🙏
UA-cam is full of wonderful people helping each other. Happy Christmas to you all xx
Repent before its too Late , Jesus Christ is coming back.,
When you take the coconut milk out thw fridge, flip the can upside down before you open it. The water will on the top and you can just pour it out
Awesome suggestion!
Mind blown!
Nuha Chowdhury awesome thanks for sharing 😉👍🏻
Whenever I’ve done that, the solid coconut part and water mixed. So now I always scoop it out!

So I bought canned coconut cream, put it in my fridge but it did not turn more solid, it was thick and creamy but liquid like...

Thanks for the recipe. You'd better use a wooden spoon as probiotics could react at the touch of metal. The same goes for dairy yogurt, you can easily see it when the left over yogurt gets watery.
Exactly my thoughts when I saw the metal spoon.
The recipe I've been waiting for. For years I wanted a recipe for making my own yogurt. I had no idea it was this easy. Thank you so much.
It so is! :) I can't wait to hear how you like it!
You presented this so well. You covered every detail. I really like the idea of placing it in the oven. Love your energy!
Thank you!
Omg this looks so delicious! I’m going to make this had no idea it was so simple! 😻😻😻😻
I am so excited to learn how to make my own yogurt....just learned almond and coconut milk! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you! Looking very forward to trying this, and thanks too for answering the reasonable and polite :) questions posed in comments. That was also very helpful and appreciated!
Gratitude for this and your beautiful energy.
THIS! I have been searching all over for exact this type of coconut yogurt, because I eat entirely waaaay too much CoYo & the price is stacking up. 😂 Thank you SO MUCH for this!!! ❤
THANK YOU for this!!! I've got a very sensitive stomach and I was just looking for ways to like yogurt without dairy and here is it!
Yahooooo! Awesome :) I think you're going to really love this one then!
58 years old.. I had kidney stones for years.. until I was about 47, and they figured out, after catching the stone.. dairy products, I cant have any sort of calcium tablet. Mine all comes from vegetables.
This tastes much better than dairy, I think❣️😊
Love this vid we all could stand the simplicity in making good things.win win ! Thank you very much. Many Blessings!!
You are really full of energy and joyful which makes me really wanna try out this recipe.
Yay! I was just looking for a yogurt substitute! Can't wait to try this :)
Awesome! :)

So easy! We can’t wait to make this! Thanks 🙏
This is the best tutorial I've found on UA-cam! You got yourself a sub!

Loving your Joyousdetox book!
What a great recipe! Thanks so much will try this weekend!!!!
I hope you enjoy it Diana!
So awesome! I just recently had to go Paleo due to being diagnosed with Celiac disease and another GI.
Glad you like it!
I heard Celiac can be cured. Search Dr Sebi. Be well 🤙
I'm so excited this actually works!! Tastes SOOOO yummy :P I'm dairy, sweetener and gluten free and this just hits all the marks. How can I get the fat to thicken more when it comes out of the fridge? I got about a half yield of what the recipe shows. I used Organic, unsweet, full fat coconut milk from a can (does contain Guar Gum). Thanks!!
Sanne Michelle Siska add sea moss
Use good quality products. The best two are Chaokoh and Aroy-D. Nothing else compares to these two.
Aroy-D does not use Guar Gum. Just coconut and water@@CuriousCat777
If you're not opposed or sensitive to natural thickeners, you can find recipes that use the whole can and thicken it with gelatin, agar agar, or cornstarch.
Super fantastic!! Thank you! I will try it , it’s the easiest yogurt recipe I have seen! Can’t wait!!
Oh good! I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for the recipe I will try it out!
You are simple and beautiful. I very rarely post a comment but you and your video is worth it. From now on i will make my own gfv coconut yogurt. Yay!😊 Thanks for the recipe.
Ruth Cajucom thank you for your sweet comment! ❤️❤️❤️
Hello I just discovered your channel few days ago. I super love your program. Keep it up. God bless you.
Katherine
Katherine thank you so much!
I love this recipe...thank you very much for sharing...
your video recipe is the best on youtube in my opinion
You can also use a spoonful of the yoghurt to set the next batch of yoghurt...no need to add another round of probiotics. In India we set yoghurt every day from the culture of the previous day's batch. 😀
M M great idea! 👍🏻
Thank u love coconut 👍🏼
It's my favourite too!
I like your energy and way of presenting. Thank you.

Very fast and simple. Thank you
I must say your hair shows you are very healthy ! Blessings
All coconuts are organic so don't be fooled with the word Organic. I am talking about fresh coconut. Coconut grow on very tall trees and the coconut water and flesh is found in the hard shell and covered with a thick husk. It's not easy to get it out. I used a machete to crack it open but these days I use a chopper.
Everything is organic, but it's what is fed to the plant or bug repellent that ruins food
wow, that's a good point! Do you think there's any other difference in processing, I wonder?
That's not true.
Only the Native Coconut is Organic.
I make coconut oil.
The others are GMO
Store bought packaged coconut shavings, desicated etc have added preservatives , whilst organic packaged coconut shavings, desicated have none added- simply 100 percent coconut -
The canned coconut milk is not natural
Is it possible to take a tsp of the older yoghurt to ferment a 2nd new yoghurt as is done with milk-derived yoghurt when making continuously ? To avoid using new probiotic capsules each time?
I was wondering the same. I feel like maybe not, but also maybe?
1/4 or more of previous yogurt, or a store bought unsweetened yogurt works well. You can use your previous yogurt 3-4 times, sometimes more.
@@mandime4798 can you use sweetened yogurt too?
Thank you for the tutorial! I am going to give the yogurt a try 🙂👍🏼
Welcome, enjoy!
I'm gonna make this soon! 😍
Thank you for the recipe. 😘
You're welcome, enjoy!
I like that it’s vegan free and gluten free and everything! Cause I can’t have any dairy

Thank you! It's SUPER yummy :)
Good day: found another hot health nut to stalk! I have been missing the lack of Chobani coconut greek yogurt stocked in the grocery (their best flavor along with lime). I did not think it was so easy to make. Also add coconut flakes, coconut sugar, etc, to this. I have been experiencing stomach problems too so I might get some of these probiotics (telling this is not in Google dictionary). They have one with 15 billion and other with 50 billion, and women's stuff which I do not need. Not sure of the difference other than strength?
@ Joyous Health hi there! Where can I purchase the probiotics capsules? I live in Hawaii, would that be at Target? Or Down to Earth Organic Store, help. Aloha! Mahalo!🌺🌺🌺
I don't think the probiotics from Genuine Health are sold in Hawaii but you can use the retail locator over here as you may be able to order them online: www.genuinehealth.com/where-to-buy/
Alternatively, you can source a high-quality probiotic from your local natural health food store and that would work as well!
@ Joyous Health Thank You! Yeah, I did some searching and Down to Earth has a lot of variety brands! They helped me with the one I am looking for with the capsule and we looked at the back information to yours that you shared on UA-cam video! ☺️🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺❤️❤️
@ Joyous Health I gonna try it out!☺️☺️🌺🌺🌺❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yay! Let me know what you think :)
Joyous Health yes! I will let you know!!☺️🌺🌺🌺

Thanks for sharing your coconut milk yogurt recipe.
Been making coconut yogurt 48 years ...a gallon every few days.
Wow that's amazing! Good for you! :)
That's awesome do u mind sharing your recipe?
I wonder how many people you are feeding. An Imperial gallon every few days is 15,000 calories every few days.
Elan Sun Star Photography how do u make yours?
@@johnnypenso9574what DIFFERENCE do calories make when you're eating real food? Wtfu you sheep.
How many days does the yoghurt last?
Around 7-10 days
I’m sooo excited to make this yogurt, thank you!!!
JCisKING you’re so welcome!
I gonna try it out! Thanks you.
How do you make your own granola?
I've got lots of recipes! This is one of the most popular on my blog: www.joyoushealth.com/23869-blog-chocolate-chia-granola

Amazing idea to make this yogurt , thanks a lot 🙏🌻
enjoy! :)
Tnx for sharing keep up e good job dear it looks delicious tnx for sharing keep
I tried this recipe and twice come on watery like kefir don't know why.
I often wonder how does the probiotics thrive in coconut milk since it contains very little sugar.
Me too
It cultures better with a bit of sugar, but it will culture some without. For Tangier yogurt with more bacteria, add a spoon or two of a sugar sweetner, like cane sugar, coconut sugar, honey, or maple syrup. It will also culture better if you heat the mix to 110° first, then add the probiotics.
Love the recipe
Obsessed with your videos! Thank you.
Miriam Hedin thank you!!
You should be able to seed some of the first batch of yogurt into a new batch, the probiotics will continue to work it will save having to use the capsules every time, I have done this making normal yogurt and Kefir many times, though I havnt tried it with coconut yet
It should work with coconut yogurt too!
Sorry forgot to say thankyou for a great video and will be trying it out
After 3-4 additional batches you might need to supplement with more caps, but that's still a pretty good output for two days worth of probiotics!
Can you use freshly squeezed coconut milk?
Well coconut isn't technically squeezed from anything - you take the dried coconut and soak it in water to make coconut milk and then blitz it up. So you could make coconut kefir since you'd be starting with a liquid base. It would be delicious!
Ps. here is an easy recipe to make your own coconut milk: www.joyoushealth.com/13227-blog-super-simple-homemade-coconut-milk
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
@@judeizzabee9543 you're welcome!
U can burst dried coconut take the meat of shred it put into a blender with water blend up strain the milk put into the fridge for 2 days all the thick cream will come up to the scoop it and whip it up and for the yogurt follow the video advise hope this was helpful 👍
Great video!
Wow so easy, thank you!
It’s important to use a wooden or plastic spoon when mixing in probiotic. Metal interferes with probiotic
Thank you for the tip! I have heard of this but from my experience, I've found it doesn't impact it a great amount.
Jenna Huezo so what about when eating it with a spoon?
Again I don't find it impacts it a huge amount. You have to pick your battles :) But if you want to optimize the amount of probiotics in it, you can use a wooden spoon!
But the coconut cream is in a tin can so wouldn't that affect the cream?
Um, just saying, I don't think any capsules have plastic in them. They are just either vegan or not vegan. If they are not then they are made out of gelatin. If they are vegan they are made out of vegetable glycerin.... not plastic
Diana Standish remember pigs will eat any thing
Many probiotics are “enteric coated” and this coating does in fact contains plastics. So it is a good idea to go plastic-free.
I absolutely love this. I’m so going to try this since I love love lovvvvvvveeee yogurt and coconut and I’m lactose intolerant this is perfect. I spent so much money on coconut non dairy yogurt so delicious brand I love it but they’re too expensive... I’m so going to try this. My husband is a vegan so this is just perfect for the both of us... thank you for sharing. I just liked👍🏻😉 and subscribed to your channel... pls keep them coming...
Jo-ann Cintron yay! Let me know what you think and thank you for subbing 😊❤️
Thank you so much Joy for finding and sharing amazing healthy video. 👍
Although I am still in search of finding a natural way of converting homemade coconut milk into yogurt
gobi bhaiya you’re welcome! I really think you need some of the meat and fat of the coconut to make yogurt otherwise just using milk will be too liquidy.
the probiotics can you please tell me where to get those from the same ones that you got please you need to let me know where to get the probiotics from please get back to me thank you

Hi.
I hope you were able to obtain the Genuine Health probiotics in your area. If not please email Genuine Health and they will be happy to help you. I love this company!
Yes! Those are the probiotics I used for this recipe actually :)
Melissa W. If you live in Canada almost all major grocery, health food and Bulk Barn stores carry Genuine Health products.
Thanks for sharing Mello!
That's coconut cream not milk
TechFlip and where exactly do you think coconut cream comes from?
Jayveen Kaur it comes from the coconut silly
Same in Australia, coconut milk is liquid even if you take it out of fridge. I am confused of these recipes..
Ozland I'm not sure but thinkkkk the key here is "full fat" coconut milk...... so maybe if it's full fat, it will get like hers when it goes in the freezer
If there is extra junk like stabilizers in your coconut milk then it prob wont separate. Just check the ingredients list.
Yum! Thanks for sharing!!!
Oh Lord! Im so glad I have find your channel. Tks for share the recipe with us 😗

Wowwwww... This is so super easy. I like the “so delicious coconut yogurt” brand but it is really expensive eating it daily. Thanks for this recipe. Your personality is amazingly. Great luck in all future endeavors. I’m a new subbie !!!
Thanks for subbing! It is delicious :)
I LOVE this recipe and forward it to friends and clients. I ordered these probiotics also. It does take me 2-3 days to get the tanginess I like and before I put it in the fridge, I add cinnamon and vanilla. Before eating, I add fresh fruit, nuts, and roasted coconut slivers- DELICIOUS! I just ordered some more probiotics (sam brand you recommend) and this time I ordered the 50 billion vs just the 15 billion per capsule- will either use one capsule per 2 cans of coconut milk or 2 per 3 cans..should work well, I hope
Lynn Lowe mmm that sounds absolutely delicious Lynn!!

Hi Joy! Thanks for another awesome and easy recipe. You are constantly inspiring me! My kitchen (including the oven) is quite cold, so I followed your instructions and then put 2 open sterilized jars in my Instapot on the yogurt settting and it doesn't seem to have worked out. :( I have looked at the comments and I did use the right kind of probiotics. Hope this isn't an epic fail for me. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? :) Sorry I won't be able to go to your event at Ambrosia on April 3rd. Hoping you can make it to either Avenue Road or Thornhill sometime soon. I have been following you since the beginning and would love to meet you one day.
