Hey Danny - I'm still getting used to them, but I like em and the fact they are photochromic - very useful. Great to see you here and to see your sketching and painting on your channel too.
I'm getting mine soon, it won't take over my Ace Pro or DJI A4 but that's not what it's intended to do. The portability has applications the other cameras cannot do, I see this as a great addition to my travel gear bag. Great video as usual!
Hey there - and thank you. I have been using the Go series from the start and I love them. Not perfect but definitely has a place in every trip I go on.
Hello amd thanks for your review - is the footage able to "airdrop" directly into a macbook or does it have to go into the insta360 app first on the phone?
Cheers. The answer is technically no, but it depends. You can't 'airdrop', but I can transfer 2.7K video to my iPad Pro via USB-C cable (capable of data transfer - not all USB-C cables are the same). If you record any special effects like timelapse, or freeframe video - that needs to be processed by the app or Studio on computer first
With devices like this, I wish vloggers would give us a story of how they spend a day, say cycling, with the camera, showing every interaction with the camera, every button press, every phone-camera interaction, from ride prep through downloading the video at the end of the day. Your video gets a little closer to providing this kind of info than any other video I've seen since I started looking for information on the insta 360 go 3s for cycling a couple of hours ago, but I wish more of that sort of thing could be found. I suppose it wouldn't be titled as a "review" though.
I don’t understand how are you burning through your mobile date transferring files over WiFi, also pretty sure that if you can download it over usb c to your iPad then you can do the same with new iPhones. Great video anyway. Thanks
Cheers and btw its all the stuff the app is doing in the background while editing / downloading footage. Haven't tried with usb-c on new iPhone as I don't have one - and that process only works for 2.7K video
One thing I find really annoying with the GO3 (that I otherwise love!) is the bug of synchronization between sound and image in freeframe video mode. It makes the GO3 unusable for vlogging in this mode if you are filming yourself speaking. Even a short movie (3-5 minutes) mounted with the insta360 app has quickly a lag if 4-5 seconds between sound and image. This problem has been mentioned by a few reviewers, some have said it has been fixed with a firmware update… I’m running the latest version and I still have the problem. I believe it is linked to the insta360 app and not to the cameras firmware, since the sound of the rushes seems OK and it gets bad after mounting the rushes together. Happens only in freeframe mode. Haven’t you experienced this like others (probably not if you stay in 2.7K mode) ? Otherwise many thanks for your content, greetings from Belgium
Hang on, you can connect your Go 3 directly to your iPad and offload footage that way? Is this only via USBC to USBC, the insta360 app supports this? I had no idea if so!
Not via the app - word with iPad Pro via Files in iPad Pro. Just click on the GO 3 that shows up in Files, and move the footage. Only works with 2.7K video - which is why I shoot mainly using that now. Need a data capable cable, not just for charging. I use cable that came with my Samsung T7 SSD
Wow, my generic GoPro knock off has more options than that thing! However, the quality is not great and it's shaky as all can be. Thank you so much for your in-depth review and solid talking points. You covered just about everything I needed to hear to know that this Go3 will work for me, thank you!
There are pros and cons to both. Personally I use 2.7k almost all the time. Freeframe allows you to adjust ratio in post and has auto horizon levelling. It depends on what you want to achieve.
so cool to see my comment featured! thank you 😄 hopefully the Insta360 company would watch this video and take notes if they’re ever going to make a GO 4 also, one con that I noticed for me personally is how long it takes for the Quick Capture mode to start recording, which is around 5 sec. I think 🥲 feels slow especially when capturing a spontaneous moment out of no where and I miss a few seconds of it at the start… hope they could fix that in a firmware update what do you think? 😅
My only concern about these small cameras is being careful about where and what you record. It’s tempting to record in locations where people might not want you recording ( like stores or restaurants ) even though the camera is small and not as easy to spot. Cell phones are more common or normal to see. Smaller recording devices can look a little creepy or suspicious. Just some thoughts. I still like the camera.
Nah I’m getting it for my helmet ( electric scooter ) my helmet is black and this is white . Plus it’ll have a small red light so I’m pretty sure they’ll now it’s just like a helmet cam
I am looking forward to my 6 year old and the hotel pool (you know the cost) and yes, I will be wearing the camera when I proposed. BUT!!!! I wanted to watch this to answer a question and you well... You never judge how useful the hat footage was. You show lots of videos of you wearing the camera on your hat but you never said, "Gosh, this is great or I wish blah blah."
Here you go: "Gosh the hat clip is great for hands-fee footage. Just don't move your head around too quickly" - and I look forward to the GO 3 float report!
some bubble wrap with a hole for the lens should do the trick if that’s what you are going for.. or maybe strap it to the bottom of a remote control mini boat🚢 I’m gonna try it on the bottom of my kayak and see if I can spot some sharks before they sneak up and surprise the shit out of me.. they are everywhere downunder.
@TheTechPacker I'm thinking about buying 🤔 the new Insta Go 3 or the Rayban Meta, I have the Insta Go 2 and the One R, but after your complete video 📹, I'm going for the Insta Go 3 Black edition. ⚫️ Many thanks 😊
Great material! Tell me, what program do you use to overlay GPS data such as speed or route on a Go3 video in such a way?
You can do it with the Insta360 app - check the video on my channel to see how - and thanks
Love the glasses logo and the new ones you’re wearing! Great review and Informative! Thank you

How about night shot? Is it any good for low light exposure?
Huge thanks for your awesome review! can you also try getting the ND filters if it would really help on broad daylight?
Thanks - will see what I can do - pretty busy schedule though :)

Thank you - and I haven't come across that problem - as you noted, I am 99% in 2.7K mode.
are you on the latest firmware? one other UA-camr covered that issue extensively and a firmware update (now many months ago) resolved it 100% for him.

I'm still getting by with my Go2....waiting for the Go4 before upgrading
Just few month before it getting 4k
Keeping up with the Go2 while eyeing the Go4, you've got the upgrade game on lock!
Still another 3 months til the GO 3 is a year old. Will wait and see :)
When will the go 4 be released?
@jedM123 no clue my friend - but remember the GO 3 has only been out for 9 months

Thank you so much for your in-depth review and solid talking points. You covered just about everything I needed to hear to know that this Go3 will work for me, thank you!
And can you put the level of stabilization on free frame or is it already in the set so you can't customize it?
Dude - all the answers are in my videos - check out my Go 3 playlist!
Man, thus video really helps me. Thanks for your work.
Glad to help!
if they turn the box into a wireless mic you can attach to you to record high quality audio like rode ones would be awesome
Thanks for the audio information. Most people aren't talking about that.
Thanks
Are you ablet to use 50-60fps on a lower res or are you stuck at 30 fps throughout?
you can switch down resolution and get more flexibility with frame rates.
@@TheTechPacker Oh sweet. Appreciate the quick reply and video! Really helped me make a decision.
Splendid review Sir!
Thanks!
8:26 they exactly did that with the GO 3 S 😃
Need to also cover transferring data to desktops or laptops.
Wasn’t really a tutorial. I have some older videos on that. May do a newer one. Maybe.
Do you know if the timestamp issue is resolved?
I'm sorry, I don't know.
Free frame vs normal video: which one is better?

what do you think? 😅
It was great to be able to feature you - so glad you noticed! I agree, I wish it could be a tad quicker - but it's not bad at all.
But is there a big difference between 2.7k and 1440p or not?
Not huge - but a little. It's all about workflow for me.
This may help with your question - Breakdown: Insta360 Go 3 Vs Go 2: 2.7K Vs 1440p Face-Off

i was ALL IN on buying one UNTIL I heard you CONS ---- TY
That's a shame - all devices have their limitations. This is a still a very good little camera. Love it.
Insta 360! interval video recording! please!
Yes!

Nice 😊😊😊still holding into my go 3 too
Yup - it gets better the more I use it
@@TheTechPacker quality not the best, but I love how it can go places that other cameras can't
So, for you, is a normal video better?
Yes - works for me better because of practicality. I can offload by cable straight to my iPad without processing through app

does not float.. saw a video of it in a glass of water.. sorry to burst your bubble Jan.

@@rickyelvis3215 I have seen those but for example watermelon kind of hovers right below the surface -- almost floats. I'm going full on pool :-)
I prefer the Go-pro fusion
About as different as cameras can be!
One last question: where is better stabilization?
Both comparable - but freeframe has horizon lock
Great again. :)
Thank you! Cheers!
