4k would amazing! The Ace Pro is also an amazing option; just been testing it out the past few weeks, although it doesn't have the removable pod like the GO 3.

stabilisation is super jittery on insta 360 go 3. did not expect it to be so bad. asically anything u shoot when moving , u getting jittery footage. and itd now dark or something. i even use nd filters for it. still same .
What about when editing via the Insta360 software? They have a stabilisation mode called "FlowState". Have you tried that and did it make a difference?
@@JustTheHighlights actually yes . I found that u gotta switch off low light stabilisation and leave everything in standart then just need to keep flowstate in the app and export through the app then it is pretty stable and not so juttery if light conditions are alright
That's called a "c-stands". You can try googling it to look at its size. It's quite big and heavy, usually used for filming/ photoshoot to hold lights or light modifiers. It's not included in the Insta360 package. He just stated it as a passing remark or FYI (for your information) for those who are in the media industry that the mount is compatible.
Yes. While GO 3 is in the Action Pod, it will continue to be powered, but not recharged. You may connect the Action Pod to an external power source to charge while shooting, but please be aware that this may affect the battery's lifespan.
What kept me from getting this camera was the lack of the 1/4 inch attachment on the camera itself (not on the "case" as mentioned by this reviewer). Like, what is the point of making the smallest camera and then not giving you an option of attachment (beyond buying the "wrap-around" gopro type of mount that looks like a kind of stupid afterthought in my opinion)? If I'm supposed to use the disassembled pivot stand AND the case, I can probably do better with just going straight with a gopro camera. And no, not everything is steel ( for the magnetic attachment to work) and not every steel surface gives you an angle you desire. Also, I don't live in a region of permanent summer and I doubt the magnetic disc would work with anything but a thin shirt. However, now that I read about the underperforming stabilisation, I'm rather happy I did not pull the trigger on this one.
I believe the pendant disk is actually quite strong. Probably wouldn’t work through a thick winter jacket, but it looks plenty powerful to go through a hoodie. And it would be nice to have a 1/4 attachment but that would make it substantially bigger.
It's a great little camera, great for POV shots. However I just returned mine as it wasn't great for low night. Will most likely get the Insta360 Ace Pro.
Nice video, but how can you leave out this really important part: HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST??? How much time can you record with the tiny cam, and do you get more time if you click in in the screen-box ??
Hi thanks, quick question: if you mount on body or chest are people 12 inches away from you distorted? I am a make up artist and looking for a POV camera for tutorials. This looks cool but im not sure how it works w close subjects. Thanks!
Does the battery drain even when it’s turned off like the GoPro does? I used to have to take out the battery every time I wasn’t using it otherwise I’d get to it and it would be drained.
How is it like the quality of the footage under low light situation? I mean I know we can expect wonders, but what’s your opinion on the output if you were going to use it in a disco for example?
I really enjoy the go. Three review. Personally. I still live in the past as I use a GoPro max for all my videos. And when I am not using a GoPro Max, I am using a DJI action three camera. Both do the job.
What about for us who go on trips and want to take videos, not content creation but for memories? I used to ride motorcycles and used Contour, Garmin cams etc. But, for a car road trip what do you recommend? I really don't like the Go Pro.
Yeah, I think it's great choice for memories on trips! If you haven't got one already I definitely recommend getting the newer GO 3S since it's got better image quality.
I own one the problem was if you tried to manually choose your choice of setiing it would be jettery also gyro tend to tumble upside down causing the vid to do sideways also weak at low light mostly to many option that does not really translate to good experience
Yeah definitely works well! I tend to export all my footage from the desktop app since I edit everything on my computer. But exports still look great coming from the phone and you can still select the output resolution and bitrate. :)
Thanks for the video Nick, much appreciated. I have looked at reviews of the Go 3, X3, Ace Pro, Osmo Pocket 3, and iPhone 15 ProMax and am having trouble deciding which one to go with. I am a magician that wants to get reactions of the people I perform for, as well other simple video of venues and me performing magic. The biggest piece is I don't want to do any post editing (meaning I get the video and can do what I want with it then and there without any downloading or extra computer software). Ideally, I shoot the video, maybe do some sleight editing (simple color correction, cutting the video down, simple transitions) on a phone or tablet (with no transfer of files), then post that video to UA-cam or Instagram. Do you have any thoughts for what might make the most sense for this? Thank you!
Hmm good question! I'd say if you want to avoid too much editing, then avoid the X3 as you'll probably need to reframe most shots. Are you wanting first person shots as you do the magic? The GO 3 would be a good choice if so, since it's easy to clip to your chest or hat. Otherwise the Ace Pro & Osmo Pocket will likely give the best image quality. iPhone 15 ProMax would also give you great footage and obviously can do a lot more than just film, but its the most expensive option. Hope that helps!

Can someone answer my question please .. i have a go 2 and im thinking of buying just the pod action .. because of the screen .. my question now is would it work ? Is my go 2 and the pod for go 3 work ? Or not
Unfortunately they aren't compatible with each other. The GO 3 will only fit inside the GO 3 action pod and the GO 2 will only fit in the GO 2 pod. Good thought though!
Great video and thanks for all the tips, the only thing I'm trying to find out before I get one of these is how people are mixing the content of the Insta 360 Go with their 4k. This video for example was shot in 4K and you have sample images from the Insta 360 (that doesn't shoot 4K) mixed in with your review? Are you just dropping the 2.7k footage onto the 4K timeline and the software then upscales the content? Thanks..
Ive had the go3 for 8 months and the battery in the pod is lasting less than 10 min. And it seems the battery is lasting less everytime. I use it for Mountain bike.
The Go3 is the only disappointing purchase i've made from Insta360. And i own every camera they've made. For one simple need, the Go3 was not an upgrade from my Go2. There are times i don't want to disturb others around me with noise and there are other times i don't want a bright blue light beaming from the camera. Moreso, if i'm recording video of a reflective surface i don't want that noticeably bright light on. Yes, the camera's charging pod has the haptic feature... but what's the convenience of that? i would have to hold that pod in my hand every time to "feel" if i turned on the camera? Defeats the purpose of a small, discrete, wearable camera for B-roll. I wish any youtuber would have pointed this out and i would have held off buying it. And the Go2's design made its case an enclosure around the camera so as to protect the lens. Not the Go3 !!
Ngl the 3s should be the standart of go 3 at first place, why they make it to 2 version, and if they call it an update why they put high price just for the camera only one, it should be around $200-250 since people already had the pod which is the core part to make it usable. And why they love putting 50fps ?
How long does it take to wake up till it is able to record? This is a huge feature, if a camera can record almost instantly. I missed so many shots, because the Go2 takes so long to start recording (also phones have that issue and I hope the iPhone 16 brings a shutter button to instantly take shots 🥔)
I am thinking of buying the Go 3 so of course the Go 4 will come out the second I buy one. This very same thing happened to me when I bought a DJI Pocket 2 and was so bummed about the lack of wide angle lens, then like a week later, the Pocket 3 came out 😩

Cheers Glenn v from NZ
Hey Glenn, thanks for the comment. The 6400 is a solid camera! In terms of the GO 3 or 3S, it includes a quick release mount that has the 1/4in thread so you'll be able to still attach it with that. It just doesn't have the thread in the actual camera. It also includes a USB cable in the box which you use to transfer files to your desktop app, so no wifi is needed. Hope that helps! :)
I haven't tested how far it gets before disconnecting but it will lose connection if it's too far away or if there's too much blocking the signal (water for example). Within a few meters I've never had any problems though :)
Depends on your mode and resolution but with the 128gb model I'm getting 3 hours and 16 mins in 2.7k 25fps in the freeform video mode. Which would be hard to use up! In standard video mode I'm getting almost 6 hours of recording time with the same resolution.

Like the reflection of a light something my camera has a light green glair you think 💬 🤔 I need to fix the white balance or calibrate the white balance so won't get this greenish color popping up on the screen it does it more inside the house but when I go outside it's good you cud look at the screen and it's clear clean shots coming trough hmm..if you know anything what may be causing this let me know please.
Like any other 360 degree camera. Their marketing name for it is "invisible selfie stick" but in fact any straight selfie stick will be invisible as long as it is thin enough at the end where the camera attaches. In fact, there is no camera that can truly record spacial 360 degree footage. The "invisible" selfie stick is simply in the blind spot of the camera.
I've owned the x2 since release. Like the comment above if you're referring to the "invisible selfie stick" then that is all algorithms and software. The cameras "brain" knows where the selfie stick "should" be and edits it out of of the video.

@nickkendall thank you for this. Super useful. I'm considering this for my helicopter training flights. How's the movement sensor and horizon level, are you happy with it when on the move? Hard to tell from video, might be that youtube dims the quality of the video. Thank you a lot! Elina
How much and can I use it on a rollercoaster
Like the reflection of a light something my camera has a light green glair you think 💬 🤔 I need to fix the white balance or calibrate the white balance so won't get this greenish color popping up on the screen it does it more inside the house but when I go outside it's good you cud look at the screen and it's clear clean shots coming trough hmm..if you know anything what may be causing this let me know please.
Can you shoot a 360 Video with this?
No, you'll need the X3 or X4 for that.
@@NickKendall ok thanks for this
Can you charge with a power bank to extend the life?
Absolutely! :)
Hi, how about sound? Does that come from phone? Or seperate mic?
Thanks😊
The GO 3 has inbuilt mics :)
Why is it called the 360 when it only shoots 180 ?
The brand is best known for its 360 cameras which is why the brand name is Insta360. But yeah some their cameras don’t shoot 360 :)
Could you please tell us how it performs in windblast? I mean audio performance in windblast.
Like a phone in windblast, there is no deadcat on it so you hear the wind. These days you can fix some of that in post with software or AI.
"And just so you know, this isn't a paid review. This is my honest thoughts on a camera."
Instant like and subscribe.
😃🙌
Well he gets paid. He gets the products from insta360. That is payment and creates bias. So, it is a paid review.
What a great video! Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
two bad it doesnt have a replacing when empty battery system and the so famous and simple 1/4 hole under!
This is a neat alternative to GoPro i feel. Thanks!
You bet! :D
Can anyone tell me how exactly the X3 camera captures footage that makes it look like a drone ?
Like any other 360 degree camera. Their marketing name for it is "invisible selfie stick" but in fact any straight selfie stick will be invisible as long as it is thin enough at the end where the camera attaches. In fact, there is no camera that can truly record spacial 360 degree footage. The "invisible" selfie stick is simply in the blind spot of the camera.
I've owned the x2 since release.
Like the comment above if you're referring to the "invisible selfie stick" then that is all algorithms and software.
The cameras "brain" knows where the selfie stick "should" be and edits it out of of the video.
Does it really has a FREE CASE AND TSHIRT?
Yep!!
I hate this camera. It doesnt have avideo recording limit like the go 2
😂
Very helpful thanks , subcribed 👍
Glad it was helpful and thanks for the sub! :)
If the black one has the grippy texture, I know it will eventually degrade and become tacky.
I don't think this will; it's a texture on the solid plastic, not a rubber or outer casing. :)
@@NickKendall good to know! Thanks for clearing that up!
Hi! Can this connect to a intercom system because of the mic? For motor riders?
Good review, im getting one now.
Enjoy it! :)
Awesome video, thanks!!
Thanks for watching! :)
Nick Kendall Thank you for posting.
My pleasure! :)
Thank you for a great review. I have been looking for a camera like this for ages! Cannot wait to get one and start using it.
My pleasure! :)
With the new low price on dji action 4, nope not worth it for go3
it’s waterproof
Yes! Just not the pod.
I'm sold on the freeform
It's great! :)
I loved this video so much!!! (my wallet didn't though 😩) Great review!
I feel your pain! Thanks for watching!
Without the case battery lasts like 15 mins on 4k this is a pointless purchase specially at that price tag
Are you sponsored by insta360?
They don't pay me, but they do send me the cameras for review and they never dictate what I say.
I wish the next version will be 4k 60fps and black,
BATTERY?????
Could the last person to leave GoPro please turn off the lights.
They can't even make their basic cams work properly, buggy AF.
No USB-C microphone input support is such a disappointment
So like Go Pro, just you know, it works.
Lol putting that little guy on a C-Stand is hilarious
😅
Das Problem bei dem Teil ist: Die Videoqualität ist echt Müll.
