Superb Irish driven pheasant shooting - Fieldsports Ireland, episode 4

- For Fieldsports Ireland episode 4, Jason Doyle is pheasant shooting and red stag stalking. They are tall, Irish birds at the Shelton Abbey shoot in Co Wicklow. He is trying out a Benelli over-and-under, the 828U, and Gamebore’s Black Gold cartridges. The 828U is adjustable, so he looks at it in more detail - what he thinks of it, how it works and how you can tweak it.
For the stags, he leaves Ireland for Scotland for a spot of budget stalking. He is on the Dalness Estate in Argyll with his cousin Larry and stalker Colin Fraser. As well as an exciting stalk, there’s the extraction, which is done by garron at Dalness. Jason also answers the question: how do you take guns from Ireland to Scotland? He explains the process, recommending Stenalines, which allows you to bring both rifles and ammunition (some airlines/ferry companies allow just guns, not ammo, and Ryanair does not fly guns or ammo).

Great Show, keep them coming thanks Jason and your excellent team.
That Benelli is a lovely looking gun, nice video, keep them coming.
Great show again Jason Really enjoyed it. Always dreamed of hunting Stags in Scotland. Felt like I was there. Thank you
Fabulous! Thanks for sharing. Fantastic drive! I am SO frustrated - after having life saving Thoracic surgery I can’t shoot. It’s too risky for me to take on, and I love my Country pursuits. Best wishes to all. Bob
Thanks guys, thoroughly enjoyed. From Australia.
Couldn't wait to see this video I was standing were you were standing at the oakes what a drive pure class jason.

Loving the show Jason.
Been looking forward to this. Field sports Ireland👍 keep them coming👌🇮🇪
Great show team👍
great show well presented
Good on you for name dropping Stena : I use them to travel over to the UK to go to shoot at Bisley and there's never any bullcrap. Great video and hugely enjoyed it. maybe see you next year at the IWA !
I have to say after owning a 828U myself previously, I don't share the love! I found the recoil was horrific with fairly heavy cartridges, Rottweil Tigers 32 gram, that and I guess I struggled with the look of it, I was glad to wave mine goodbye, each to their own as they say, shoot a Beretta DT10EELL for the last few years and I am a very happy customer.
Well done nice shooting and footage.
Top notch as always.
Great vid Jason keep them comin 🤙
Great film and can't agree with you more about using fibre wads, we should all be using them. Fibres are much better than they used to be. The kills you had on those high birds prove how good they are.
Great show
Great video !
I always look forward to Fieldsports Ireland: first I have bit of a man crush on Jason, second I don't have to tolerate that rodentine poltroon Jackobie. Keep up the good work.
I can see that taking off ,I love it ,"Hello poltroon Charlie".
Well done 👌👌👌
Thanks for yet another great video. Good honest informal review of the Benelli O/U. I like the modern sculptured receiver. Must shake up a lot of traditionalists. I remember when the Benelli NOVA came out. Very modern design. It was called a lot of names like the Stars War gun etc. Turns out it gave the other pumps a solid run for their money and offered a lot of features they simply didn’t have. I think the remark made in this comment section, about Benelli’s materials aren’t up to par. Really? Like the critic is ls a metallurgist as well as a wood engineer?
Excellent video. What brand and model sunglasses are you wearing? Thank you kindly.
Great video guys, it always rains when your looking up ;-) nice shot on the stag did you happen to see any wild haggis up on the mountains, its their breeding season just now lol
Some great shooting there Jason. You’d nearly give Andy Crow a run for his money. (Nearly)
Hope we’ll see some episodes on real wiring spaniels.
👍🏻
Having patterned loads of fibre cartridges using 18.6 bore Beretta against my 18.4 bore miruku can honestly say there is little difference using decent cartridges.checking other expert cartridge testers on youtube found that the same guns with different bores produced 13 to 37 f p s difference , so I find it's a bit of a myth wit bores up to 18.7 also some of the pattens were denser with the larger bores suggesting the larger bores produced slightly better pattens. 😯
Jason one of your best videos, techniques improved 😝lol, naw seriously a great video.
Waaaw thank you Nabil massaili Algéria 🇩🇿
Great video, rewatched it again there tonight. Where is Jason's cartridge bag from?
Hi - I think it's Jack Pyke. / Charlie
Great film, what calibre is the sako and what ammunition did you use ?
red stag thank you! it’s a .270 running Federal 130 grain nosler ballistic tips.
Good show but 36g 4 for them birds is madness
Belo abate muito boms os disparo parceiro valeu fique com Deus blz
Is that a shotkam your using Jason?? How would you rate it????
Gareth Brown I love it. Great for seeing the misses!
15 or 20 pickers up?
a lot of thought but where Jason is the largest Irish colony and why would you not chose to shoot there, in your homeland

The Benelli are very beautiful but have a bad quality of materials
