I think I need to lean on the throttle more for take off. Shes rolling over when wheels come off the ground. Maybe my rates are to high. Gonna try low rates and stand on the throttle more for faster take off. Im busting it up bad. 😢 small field isnt helping.
I might need to put a Avian 80 or a 100 amp in it so I can have reverse thrust. Dropping over the trees tops and Getting it slowed down in time kinda spooks me so I haven't Maidened it yet. I can usually easily land my Banshee 64mm without needing it but not always. I might just have to grab my balls and give it a try.
Impressive speed. 132 mph is what I get out of a clean pass with my 90mm on smc hv. I’m sure you can squeeze a bit more out of the 70mm with a lighter (4000-4500) lipo and cleaning up the front retract. 👍👍
I have flown this jet more than 25 times. I was fully aware before its maiden that using flaps is necessary to properly land this jet. It is notorious for doing unrecoverable tip stalls without warning if you try to fly slowly without deploying flaps. It is not an easy jet to land. Landing it requires a methodical, scalelike approach with a rather long straight gradual glideslope. Your sink rate must be at an absolute minimum and your speed must be kept at around 1/4 throttle. It must be flown all the way to the ground. Land it like the full size jets-on the mains and with a gentle flare. Let the nose drop naturally to the runway. Don't force landings. I would not recommend this jet as a first EDF unless you already have prior experience with heavily loaded fast prop planes. A great teacher that can prepare you to fly the Viper 70 is the FMS P-39 Cobra II. If you can fly that comfortably, your transition to the Viper will be much smoother. Again, the Viper 70 is not really ideal as a first jet for those without solid experience with fast heavily loaded prop planes because it's not easy to land, has fierce tip stalling characteristics if flown slowly - or if you bank and yank at high speeds (the famous high speed stall), and lands fast even with flaps fully deployed. Please understand that the Viper 70 is not going to land slowly like your E-flite T-28 1.2 m or even your E-Flite P-51 or Corsair.

I got 127 Mph with a 4000mah no wind with the nose gear half cocked lol
