We thank Chris Lee from Hooks and Hammocks for his great video on how to use these planer boards. This is either a great refresher or what you'll need to know to use your set on your boat like a champ! #CatConCrew #CatfishingLife #PlanerBoards
Thanks for the video i never use one and now I feel confident while using one from my kayak. This will be a game changer if it from specifically with an Alabama rig.
Great video and easy explanation, thanks bud. I'm from south Texas and never used planer boards and was toying with the idea of slow trolling from my kayak. After watching this now I want to give it a shot for some flatheads or big blues. You ever tried slow trolling live bluegill or gizzard shad from the planers?
Great video only question I have that I don’t think you covered and I could be wrong but….. what size of planer boards are you using and what are the different sizes used for ? I see only there’s 7 inch 9inch and bigger what’s the difference ?
Great video! Easy for a true planer board beginner to understand. I’m curious what you do when you have 6 out. Do you run 2 planer boards on each side? What keeps them from crossing over each other?
How do you determine the size planner board needed for the sinker and bait weights ? I primarily fish Ohio river cannelton pool using average sinker weight around 8oz. Sorry if this is a dumb question or asked incorrectly, but thanks for any reply and advice
Sorry for the delayed response. We also fish the Ohio, we have been dragging baits with up to 6oz dragging sinkers and large baits with no issues. The boards are extremely buoyant and most time still stay afloat even when a fish is on so I wouldnt be concerned with bait and sinker weights. Come over to our channel and check us out, Hooks and Hammocks on UA-cam!
Cool tips ,now show me catfish setup as in how you hook up your line with a the hardware that's dangling, and what part of Hoosier land your from. And keep on fishing.

Thank You.
How much weight do you use for 20-30ft depths
If they are a board we can use in each side ?
You don't have any problems with that when other boats pass by you like running over it?
It is possible another boat could hit them but they would be awfully close to your boat as well
where can i buy them at
Uncle Lou's on Facebook
These seem like a gigantic pain in the butt, but a lot of people use them!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
