I am a woman and I like some alone time from my husband too. I think every body needs some alone time for mental health, just an hour or two. You can’t be together every single hour of the day!!

Remember Steve is from an older generation where couples become a single, bonded unit forever once you're married. But most people tend to forget that even after you involve yourself in a committed relationship, you are still you on some degree. Your partner should never be relied on for your own happiness, but at the same time should never be a virus in your life that consumes every aspect of your existence. There is a balance between personal time, and Us time. Sadly that balance depends on the couple and shifts like the tides....

Yes with friends and all or to go get groceries or pick the kids up from school or even go for a jog.

It is so important to keep individuality with some separate independence and united companionship. Be best friends right from before I do so that you always enjoy talking about stuff and can be comfortable and silly with eachother. Passion might come and go but being married to a best friend makes it last even when things are hard because nothing gives support like friendship does. I've seen this with my parents, my grandparents, my 3 aunts, extended family, and of course myself where love never fades. Nobody ever says this but your friendzone might hold your ultimate catch and you are not seeing it because in your mind friend and spouse are opposites. It could be the same but it starts before the aisle. What you see is what you get so take your time and look closely.

I believe it’s because people live together first. Men don’t have to buy the cow if they are already getting sex on a regular basis .
@@64katesy Divorce rates are higher if you live together first anyway, so that is not a good idea.
I think it has to do with the fact that people today do not take marriage seriously. They don't. Also, they view love as a feeling and certainly it starts out that way but love has to become a choice or it will not last. Further, I think that people are less careful in picking their mates. They seem to understand themselves less and therefore pick people who make good boyfriend/girlfriend but horrible mates. You need to be honest with yourself and honest about the other person's qualities.

You its strange sometimes I see these Steve Harvey videos pop up on my feed and I am like man why does this dude care so much? Like I always have a thing to mind my own business when it comes to other people's relationships.
But then I think of thbjbga I have seen with my self, siblings and friends of how things can awfully wrong where people get hurt, depressed, lose their self worth, how a bad relationship can really change a person, get them new addictions, people get used and abused, end up in never ending cycles, second guess yourself or even fool yourself cos maybe if you don't care anymore u won't get hurt. This is what makes me hesitant of being in a relationship not even marriage. I am a woman and been always traveling, studying, working, and living abroad alone. I need companionship and love we all need that, but we still need our alone time.

Mayby, that's why I'm really happy with my hubby for over 24 years now....I love my own space..go out with my girls, mayby a short vacation with my mum, just being myself sometimes...and my husband needs to be on his own either, why not? He goes on fishing trips with friends, visits his childhood friend for a few days or whatever...He is my partner in crime, my best friend, and a great Daddy...He is not in my posession or my child and He's thinking the same way...the only 2 persons in our Lifes, who had the right to told us what to do are Mom and Dad, it's that simple 😉
