I agree with Steve, when a guy doesn't call you like he said he would, call him on it and see if he corrects it. Tell him, "Yesterday, you said you were going to call and I didn't hear from you. It's important that the people around me be trustworthy, so do you have trouble following through on what you say?" If he apologizes, give him another chance. If he makes excuses or blames you, change his name in your contacts to "trouble calling" and when that pops up, don't ever answer it again. And I don't believe in the 90-day rule, sorry Steve. I believe in the "not until I'm married rule." If I'm good enough for the cookie, I'm good enough for the altar.

Three months was the standard back in the days, to get to know somebody, and make sure you had a common ground. These days, it's Tinder and all that crap. I am glad, being an 80's kid and knowing now that I would rather focus on my kid and myself. Feels way better and is really true LOVE.

I love Steve and agree most of the time. The *only* thing I don't agree with here is the "cookie" being the prize. Sir, I'M the prize. Me as a person is the prize. A life with me is the prize. My cookie is a bonus. Other than that he has wonderful advice. I realize a lot of men's goal is the cookie, but if that's what you want then get a temp, because I'm not open for business unless you either show me you're in it for the long haul, or God drops you outta the sky and says, "Here he is."
I was casually dating somebody for about 8 months. I asked him one time "what are we?" His answer was, "I don't know." I knew right then it wasn't going to last, so I enjoyed his company while I had it. He recently found the woman he had an answer to that question for. I'm so happy for him. But when they're not the ONE, they'll have those kinds of unsure answers.
Steve should have a dating show - i would come down to be set up by him 🙏🏼

I ALWAYS listen to Steve Harvey. Although my father has always been in my life from the time I was born up until now, he never talked to me the way Steve does. My father was a awesome provider and that was how he believed he showed his love however I needed these talks from the most important man in my life. I believe if I had these talks, I probably would not have made all the mistakes I made when it came to men. Now that I am much older, I apply alot of what Steve says in my life...."I'm the prize!"

My friend B gave me this same advice about not revealing the specific keys to your heart to any man in the early days, and he's a straight man too.
He didn't need to be honest about it, but he cares about women not getting conned and hurt; knowing the way most men are going to do women. Don't enable men to use or hurt you.
I'm a woman here to say that many women do men the same way. It's so very wrong, but it's our world.

The last girl who's divorced with a child and dating, she's beautiful - looks like a model. Keep moving forward, get your finances in order, own some property, and look for a man who's in the same boat as you - handsome, owns some property, maybe has a kid himself and build a new life together with him. Keep your standards high.

Thanks for the advice. Your kid is # one! If a man can't accept you have a child , move on. Never be scared to discuss your child from day one. There are good celebate men outside the church, please hold on to your values. Dating isn't easy. However, set standards and demand respect. Blessings to all single ladies , looking for that one. I been divorce for 20 some years. Been focusing on me and ejoying my oneness. Lately, I been wanting to date again scared. I have no house, no job since 2007 on disability I have nothing to offer. Lost all that when I could no longer work. My ex left because I could no longer work his true colors came out. I believe a man should be the provider! If a guy I date doesn't accept that then I am moving on till one does.

I have dating to a guy for the past 6 month at the beginning of the relationship he use to call or call back when he missed my call but now he doesn't call back he only short text only the morning and sometimes in the afternoon to check up now when I complain about he said he's busy with work
And he has come to meet my parents 3months when we got into the relationship now I don't what to do I can clearly see he is not interested again

Four years and you’re not married? He’s either already married or he’s just stringing you along ( and maybe a few others too) until ‘something better’ comes along! Life is short, stop wasting your precious life on someone who doesnt really care about you! Remember, it’s not what they say, it’s what they do that matters.

I just got out of a serious relationship that was emotionally abusive I want him to change he says he’s changed I was in a shelter for the last week and now I’m back in here living with my ex he says he’s changed but I don’t trust him and I feel like I already met the one for me last week but he’s in a different city where the shelter was located I’m ready for marriage and a baby but I’m scared I’m making a mistake if I give my ex another chance because he’s selfish and unconsiderate of my feelings.

Do not give your ex a chance. For you to go into a shelter, things were bad!!! Today it might be emotional abuse and next week it could be another type of abuse. Leave while you still can. Abuse escalates and fast and you can't come back from death.
Do not give this other dude a chance either. You need to heal. Heal by yourself, sit by yourself and write out a list of all the good and bad things about your ex. Cut that contact, make goals for how long time past since you last had contact. You don't need closure- especially with an abusive dude. You're never going to get it. Learn to become ok with that.
Sit in that dark and hurting place, don't fear it. Give yourself time, I can guarantee you within a year or so, you will never want to give abusive dusty dudes anytime of your day. You will be in a place where you will become the picker and will attract the one meant for you, when YOU want it. ❤
@@zara198522 I believe he can change I already gave him another chance . I told him about my boundaries and things that bother me and he said he won’t do it anymore . I told him if he does it again I’m leaving. He told me he will put my name on the house and he’s been going to church with me he’s going to buy me a car next week and he’s helping me get to my new job. I went to the shelter because I told him I won’t accept disrespect any longer so I asked him to drop me off. I opened a bank account in my name just in case things don’t work out again and I can use it to save money and get out of here in a house next time instead of a shelter .
@@zara198522 I don’t have anywhere to go and it’s hard living together and not have sex so I decided to have boundaries and we have sex and we hold hands and it feels good to do both I just want to cook and clean and workout and be happy. So far nothing had happened besides me telling him yesterday that he needs consent to touch me sexually because it feels bad when he just touches me when I’m not horny it makes me irritable. So he said he won’t do it anymore ever I’ve told him multiple times to stop that it’s like he doesn’t get it until I leave and he knows I can leave again so I’m sure he won’t this time. I like the way respect feels it’s something I never get. He knows he’s on his last chance . It sucks reading things like this or hearing things like this because I love him and I want him he didn’t know he was emotionally abusive I’m his first real relationship so he doesn’t have much experience I’ve helped him with his debts and I helped him with getting his life together. I told him it is my turn so he has vowed to help me get on my feet by getting me a car and helping me become more independent. I think I need to get on birth control though I’m scared to get pregnant because I’m also on a weightloss journey I’m trying to recover from the years of emotional abuse. It gave me a eating disorder I’ve passed it now and lost sixty pounds but I still have forty more to lose. I don’t want to think about this, I feel he can change.
