One of the reasons why I downsample my data rate on my TL build. It's the opposite of what Raw is. Better had you stuck with 0.9x CBR than overclocking the video. Raw will overheat your camera if you aren't careful.

Hello Tao, sorry to hear about your camera. I have heard more people with the same issue. But most of them got it back to work again. So, I hope for you too.
Just one question, what version did you install on the 5DMIII.
The official build, or what quit a few people use Danne's build. The crop rec. I use this one my self also.
    Thank's in advance
    Greetings
    Richard

There seems to be no evidence for direct correlation between the death of the camera and the magic lantern firmware, although the video presents the information hinting as if there were.
In other words, what are the probabilities that your camera would’ve died similarly as it did had you used it the same amount that you did but without magic lantern? Without this information, it is not scientific to jump to conclusions.
It would be very interesting to perform an experiment where some (at least 4-10) identical cameras purchased at the same time half of them with magic lantern, installed and half of them without, and then all of them taken for the same rides and taking the same shots for X amount of years and then at the end of those years see which ones have failed and which ones have not.
Clearly, an expensive experiment which would require a lot of patience.

this experiment would go hard but unfortunately who is willing to spend so much money on such a niche topic

I believe ML also killed my 60D about 10 years ago. One day the camera just would not turn on. I took it to the repair shop and somehow the guy was able to resurrect the camera, but.... the autofocus would never focus accurately anymore after that event. Also since then the camera would drain the battery if left inside the camera for a few days (regardless whether ML is installed or not). I still have the camera and use it sometimes for astro shots, as it is now useless for most other things.
Back in the days the community swore ML would not do anything to the camera, yet here and there you'd have someone reporting similar "sudden death" / battery drain issues.

A couple of days ago the same happened to my old 60d, put the ML firmware, tested it and seems to be all good. The suddenly the screen shows only colors, the camera don't turn off so I take out the battery but when i put it again shows Err 80. After many try and error finally back to life but with the same issued you describe (battery drain, impresice autofocus, noises when turn on and turn off, sometimes Err 01 when change lens, among other issues).
