Keep going ! I've been using ML for about 5 years now. I shot in cold weather in Iceland, as well as in warm and wet environnement in Colombia, I never had problems. Of course sometimes you make set a wrong setting and the camera might freeze, all you need it to pull off the battery and reboot the 5D but that's just normal. About the overheating, yes sometimes if you shoot too much continuesly it might get hot but you have to adapt your workflow.
Just started shooting on the eos-m with ML. Yup some settings can be glitchy. I pull the battery sometimes and sometimes do resets. For the most part it is pretty stable though once I get it in the right setting. BTW you went to Iceland huh? See my Petri Dish Earth vids about what Iceland really is. Please. And have an open mind.
I only use my camera for stills but ML has made it so much easier to adjust for exposure on the display of my T3 and allowed for me to use every bit of that sensor that Canon locked away.
"Its so risky your camera gonna explode" I hear this nonsense warning on everything from phones to custom firmware for your PlayStation, no it wont explode and no it wont be impossible to recover a bricked device because if you can flash a device a custom firmware and brick it, you can flash the original firmware and just recover it.
@@teodorb7003 What does "breaks down" even mean? If it wont function right, remove the CF or SD card you have magic lantern on, format it on a PC and restart your camera by pulling the battery and reinsert it.
Sony 1080p xavc footage looks of a higher quality than ML and it’s built into the camera. I have ML on my t4i and my a6500 is way better ML is close but Sony takes the win . Hi, I just checked the website and I’m having no luck getting on the site either. Best guess, the website is going through an update. It’s open source firmware with many contributors so hopefully it’s nothing to worry about. I’ll check back later to see if there is any change 👍
Anyone watching in 2023 - Check out the new "crop mood" magiclantern build, it is an absolute game changer - it's what ML always wished it could be. And now it is. For free. Pure win.
im late to this party - i tried ML a couple years back but uninstalled after it kept locking my canon 700D - gave it another whirl just this week still on my canon 700D, and its glitchy but mainly working - I like the audio meters on screen and the force fps for cheeky timelapses - had no success at all with RAW video though - whatever i try in aspect ratio and resolution 1600px and below nothing works for me i just get a black screen - even tried new sd cards with 128gb and 170mbps - still black - seems like EOS M is the most compatible and most up to date version worked on in 2020 all others look like 2018 - i shall keep ML for those intervalometer and seeing audio levels but RAW video is off the menu on my camera so will make the best I can still using cinestyle profile and keep going!
It's finally become viable. Bilal has created a new firmware called the Crop Mood based on Magic Lantern which takes this camera to INSANE levels of quality and is so much more useful. I can get 4.8K (2.5k anamorphic stretched to 4.8k) 12 or 14bit RAW continuously. Just make sure to have a fast SD Card.
I tried it .. and the short answer for me is no .. its not really worth it. I would rather just buy a camera dedicated for videos with optical stabilization system.
recalentarse puede, y ya que es una camara viejita pues haz el intento lo que si te recomiendo es que no grabes videos largos trata de trabajar grabando secciones cortas de video asi evitas un recalentamiento fatal
