Just got my first 4 pack of Nikko Hellgrammite in the mail yesterday. Excited for my first use this weekend! Nikko can thank Creek Crawler for my business.
Looks almost exactly like the hole me and my buddy used to fish in Southeast Central Ohio growing up. A lot of times just past those tunnels under the roads there are big deep holes for whatever reason and fish love it there. Saw a few gar and some massive catfish over the years with the small mouth bass. Fun places to swim too.

I have some hellgrammites in my tackle box I've used them before but never had success catching any fish on them but maybe next time I use them I'll finally have some good luck

The problem with many creeks they are either inaccessible or polluted. I wonder if the little muskingum river has good fishing ? Lastly do most creeks that flow into the Hocking river have any accessibility ? What is the water quality of the Hocking river ?
Most creeks I fish are pretty dang healthy!! I know the muskingum is fantastic so I would assume the little is great too! Most of the tributaries to the Hocking are polluted down my way from the mines.. as far as the health of the Hocking I can catch up to 11 game fish species a day. That definitely is a testament to the water quality

@@thecreekcrawler The fishing at the Licking River especially down there below the spillway is pretty decent I fish down at a little inlet on that meets up with the Licking River and then I got another area that's all shaded with trees where I caught some cats out of there and especially at that inlet pond I've had really good success catching fish out of that spot and down at the marina and the Scenic overlook up above the dam and the north fork licking river that's where I caught my first smallmouth bass a couple years ago I got a couple fishing holes down there one by Everett Park and then another area not far from the Manning Street Bridge there are a couple of still pools of water the first one is where the log Pond Run diversion ditch spills into the North fork Licking River that's where I caught my first smallmouth bass then the second one is also a still pool of water where I pulled out a pretty good 1LB-1.50LB largemouth bass I usually go there with my mom and dad and I went there last year and saw a pretty good decent-sized trout swim by us and I almost caught it but it got off
You gotta get down to NW Georgia, NE Alabama, coosa strain spotted bass. They get huge. They also fight like small mouth. 5.25lbs on the creek system tributary to Coosa and Oostanala rivers. State record is 8lbs. I get 3-5lbs spots on the regular.
The Great Miami has tons of public access! Especially in downtown Dayton, they have really put a lot of effort into making downtown a recreational hub for the area! It is very easy to walk around and fish the structures they have built down there!
These were the finesse I use the pros with the larger soft plastic craws I have! I use either 1/10 or 1/6oz depending on current and depth. Black and or green pumpkin are my go-to colors for the jigheads
if you don’t mind me asking, what creek is this? i’ve never caught a spotted bass (unless i just thought it was a lmb) and it’s on my list of fish to catch this summer

I have caught a smalljaw that was littery a mil meter away from a state of Ohio smallmouth bass. I caught it in the Great Miami river. Also I have caught a few good Crappie and a couple bluegill so far this year my brother🙏💯👊🤺💙🎣🐟. Me and my God son Gabriel are going out to chase some Crappie and Bluegill on the Stillwater river this Saturday though. God willing we will catch some slabs and some good Bluegill for dinner🙏💯👊🤺💙🎣🐟.
Spotted bass are very fond of crayfish and small minnows. I would use any presentation like the ones I mentioned. Also, the hellgrammite seemed to do fantastic at catching them too! I would focus on feeder creeks. Look on the Scioto river on google maps and go to any small creek that dumps into it. good luck and tight lines!

Yea the culverts can be designed with big gaps of concrete underneath. The fish love the shade, especially in the summer. It makes for great habitat!
