Love the full and thorough breakdown of the Kirkyard! I love cemeteries, so this is very high up on my to do list when I come out there. The story about the dog, and both movies, made me cry so much! It reminds me of a lot of Hachiko. 😭 Beautiful but so sod!
HI Tony! My Brother and I so enjoyed visiting Greyfriars kirkyard when we were in Edinburgh in May. I thought it was great that they had a place you could donate to the upkeep of the church and yard- what a great way to help out to keep something so unique for the future! We also were lucky enough to find a couple of sticks to place on Bobby's grave and told him "Good boy, Bobby!" Thanks for walking me down memory road- we loved Edinburgh!
Well....Passport...Check. Scottish Memories Tickets...Check. The Scottish Memories Series was such a treat during the "time" you made them and my favorite of your videos. Seeing this "Live"???? What's better than that?
I always visit Scotland, outside of the tourist season. So I usually have Greyfriars to myself; although I did do a night tour once, years ago with about 10 others 😉 I think Mortsafe or Mortgate originate from the French word 'la mort' for death 🤔 hello from Denmark 🌸
Great video Tony, I really enjoy learning about Greyfriars. I noticed that your anti-theft tags weren't floating around - Have that situation improved? I'm hoping so!
Countdown 9 days for me coming to Edinburgh. I want to thank you for helping me learn all about it and I’ll be on the lookout for you so I can say hello.
Morning, Tony. I was in the City... Again. 2 weeks back. For Scotland's 3 Hottest days, this year! Sat 26c, Sun 27c & Mon 28c. It was another wonderful Trip. I too love Greyfriars Kirkyard. And directly behind the grave of John ( Jock) Gray? There's a Grave with the Name, 'Potter' on it. I hope that you K and the Kids are keeping well. Take care, my Friend...O
Hi Tony, I found this really informative. I was unaware of the Harry Potter connection, a little sad to see the queues of tourists to be honest. As kids more than 60 odd years ago me and my pals used to sit with our backs to the kirk wall as the sun went down. The first to run was the shanner! To be sure the rest of us were right on his heels. Keep up the good work.
After I married my Edinburgh born husband my father-in-law, who was a doctor, took me around that kirk yard with some particularly gruesome stories. I had nightmares for months afterwards!
There is one of the impressive mausoleums up the Flodden wall for the Adams family of architects. Architects for some amazing buildings across GB yet nothing in their home town of Kirkcaldy!
Hey Tony as always great videos and it's great to have you back , we all love having you back home you and the family are well? You know I'm a big fan of yours keep them coming sir 😊

It’s a beautiful kirk yard. We like visiting it later in the day when most of the tours are done. It’s very atmospheric when quiet.
