Who is listening in 2023? Such a great song. ❤❤❤
This is my favorite by them. I told my daughter to make sure this song is played at my funeral.
I’m going to the show tonight in San Diego!
I’m listening
2024 one of my favorite sings ever. UA-cam removed my comment down below a year back or so 😂😂😂 @$$holes.
I am. Mark in Jax.
Why is this not a hit #1 song across this country! What musicianship! what lyrics! Nashville is deaf, dumb and blind for pumping out that cliche pop country crap! This Band rocks! Go see them live, what a PARTY! We saw them at the Troubadour in L.A. where all the greats have played.
well said
It's not a #1 because they're talented and probably don't have a huge marketing machine along with scantily clad Barbies in the background.
Nashville is heading in a direction that I do not want to go with the music that I listen to. Thank God we have UA-cam to find the decent music that is still alive and well. I am from St. Louis and decided long ago that underground music is the way to go.
Austen Stokes that band is from Oklahoma
Kimberly Blair It's on the playlist down here in South Texas - trying to keep that real country alive.
We miss ya fellas....get back out there. We need y'all back on stage!!!
we sure do
Amen!
This may be the best comment ever!!
i realize Im kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Dylan Ralph try Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
This song is amazing! I can't believe it took me to 2022 to learn about these guys.
same sadly
That's alright! Better late than never!!
Same
same
I’ll get to see them twice next Thursday and Saturday, they’re from a small town near Tulsa so we’re expecting full house both days. And we will have journey + Toto inbetween those days
“ let the fiddle play a ho down “ ! Great performance.
Their diamonds and gasoline album is one of my all time favorites. Much love turnpike troubadours. Red Dirt rules.
The electric guitar part during the second verse is one of my favorite guitar parts anywhere. Along with that, the vivid depiction of launching an old truck (or car) over the train tracks in the middle of the night really resonates with my high school days.
One of the most captivating things I’ve ever watched!
I've been under a rock but these guys give me a good feeling about our country music heritage carrying on!!!
This might be the best live performance of a song EVER
The musicianship is too notch. And SO glad to see young guys like this bringing real American music back!
Reminds me of a Bluegrass Dropkick Murphy's. Great Song!
That is a pretty good comparison for this song.
U couldn't say it better
Ever heard of the Old 97s?
One of the greatest live shows I've ever seen!
Some of Turnpikes song are homage to Old 97s!
I m from germany and i love this southern musik
AWESOME song! I really love the Turnpike Troubadours, and I personally think this video sums up their style. this is REAL country music, not the pop "country" or rap junk that's all the craze. I really dont see why it hasnt hit the billboard hot 100 charts! its songs like these that go in the books. I am going to see Turnpike Troubadours in milwaukee in december. $60, but definetly worth the show. Also, I am only 15, and I also dont see why teens are getting into this amazing music. God Bless Turnpike Troubadours. Great American country band, great American country music.
@Greg-gc5tb first off I can’t believe I’m seeing that you’re 15 and your name is Greg!!! I’m Greg but 45 years older than you , and I haven’t ever met a “young Greg “ like ever !! So really cool to see that , Secondly for 15 you’ve got Excellent taste in music!!!! Wish there were ALOT MORE like you out there !!!
@@gd6349ikr! People tell me this all the time for both those reasons. they say "why do you have an old man name?" ofc its bc names like bob and greg and peter and john happen to be the best. all my friends have names like that 😅 also, other young people think im weird bc I listen to the best music. I dont care whats popular, im just listening to whats good. Im sure glad you appreciate the good music in life @gd6349 👍
oh and also all my friends have the same taste of music so im pretty blessed
Such a sin I only discovered this song years later, guys need more recognition.
Ryan J just wish they will get together again someday
Never heard Evan scream like at 3:33. Bad ass!
I still can not believe that there are only 2.3 mil views of this outstanding recording... This might be the most flawless live video ever recorded... every instrument, vocals included, just unbelievable. Evan makes the singing and playing look like a walk in the park and is the sole reason I finally took the focus off of my fret hand to put some real thought into strumming. I can't wait for you guys to come up to Canada.
Please get back together. We need you!!!
my grandmother had an old sign in her kitchen with the title of this tune on her wall for years.....true then, true now........and what a smokin hot song!!!!!.....Lord bless ya boys....cheers
These guys are the fucking coolest. Just got tix for feb 15 in Minneapolis and Im pumped.
best band to boogie woogie on my ears in quite some time. Red dirt is the ONLY country left!
you are right. Country is moving West my friend.
these guys and whiskey myers are my favorites right now
Its Southern Rock.. but not country.
@@akajondoe1 It is Texas / Red Dirt music and if you don't get that look it up Yankee!
Black dirt, but long gone myself. You're right though, @Ross Fregia.
So good! And live!
I was a bit sad they did not play this when I saw them open for Willie in 2022 in Chicago, but they played splendidly.
I love this song it's my go to on the highway when I go out and about
Pure Americana. I love it!
Play this song at my funeral!
These guys are the eagles of red dirt...all mega talented....Tuscaloosa 2018 was epic....
Best you tube recommendation ever
What REAL COUNTRY MUSIC sounds like!!
Great Band!
These dude's sing the song of my life! Legit, no doubt~!
these guys are my he best out their. they are nothin but a bunch of friends having fun that's what makes them so good
That was literally perfect.
Only thing that would make this song better, is if I could listen to it louder!!!! F'n LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
This song should be in Yellowstone.
This performance makes me so happy, yet so sad at the same time...
My daughter introduced me to TT in February of this year.. I've bought two CDs so far and play them constantly. Love your music!
From now i'm a turnpike fan
Boi boi this is crucial remember that Turnpike Troubadours y'all stay together and be healthy
I’m a Fan of Turnpike Troubadours. I’ve seen them in concert! Jonny Weiss “Hello Texas.” 🎶
Seeing them open for the Dropkick Murphys next Saturday.
One of the best bands I have heard in a long time!
Oh my God fellas I want this played at my funeral what a wonderful song Great Job!👍❤❤
I was born in 73 and ... just have to say thanks a lot for such an inspiration. up to my lifetime playlist.
Banger
Watched this so many times that I can’t listen to the studio version without hearing the little fiddle ditty at the end
Hats off to whoever mixed this for NOT ruining it with loads of reverb. I was expecting it after first few notes and was pleasantly surprised of the quality. It's a good song too.
Bossier city
Play it at my funeral! It'll get some laughs!
I feel the same way!!!!!!!!!!!!
They guy on the fiddle..wow! He is awesome. Not sure who he is but he has inspired me to pick one up and start learning.
Thank you whoever you are man!
Little late to the party but in case youre still curious his name is Kyle nix
@@treyaldridge1757 Is he still with the band? Looks like someone else in later vids. I commented above - i could eat this guy. BTW, check out the fiddle playing in "The Bird Hunters". OUTSTANDING! Makes me want to dance every time i hear it.
@@janetwhite7786 well the turnpike troubadors have been on hiatus since last year, but Kyle Nix was the fiddle player from inception until the hiatus
@@treyaldridge1757 I'm also late but Kyle didn't join the band till a couple years after they formed. Semantics but I've got issues lol.
Oh. My. God. This. Video. Is. Fucking. Amazing.
This band excites my soul!! Xo
This band isnt underground its just that people who listen to mainstream country radio dont hear it. The mainstream stations are playing it now because they have no choice to because its that good.
malcolm mccoy
There is nothing good on the radio these days. It's all bands like this putting out the real country sound.
it is on the radio
it is on the radio
it is on the radio
+malcolm mccoy
Red dirt is the only real country left. Unless people like pop country crap.
Best fucking song. Makes me feel alive
One of the best live songs I`ve ever heard,Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! Restecpt for the soundguy!
Impossible to not stomp your foot to the beat
Still amazing no matter how many times I hear it. Love them!
Florida Georgia line not worthy of tieing turnpikes shoes. .
Well boots dont have laces, so.....
Florida Ga Line is some Nashville over-produced slop. To each his own, but to me country is totally different than what it goes by today. It's like Top 40 commericalized , inane BS>
But pardon me, lil Missy...I grew up watching the Grand Ol Opry when it was still at the Ryman, listening to Porter Wagoner Show when Dolly Parton was singing with him, never missed Hee Haw and loved David Allen Coe back when he was still the "Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy".
Lynard Sykard and ZZ Top, Charlie Daniels and Chet Adkins.....Glen Campbell and Johnny Cash was "crossover" music, LOL!
Girl...Please! You are so young and you just don't even know....I will just overlook you!!! Turnpike Troubadors are the closest thing I have heard to REAL country music than what is being marketed today and they were not promoted by the Nashville music industry.
I have 3 kids older than you and two younger...excuse the heck out of me for using the wrong pronoun and got you all microaggressed and triggered...simmer down and enjoy the music!!
@countrygirl countrymusiclover now don't get your panties in a bunch LITTLE MISSY.
I saw these guys in college when this song came out in Stephenville, TX
Why are there so many hates for this song????????? Better than anything you would hear on the "top 40"......
This is the video that made me fall in love with TPT. Absolute favorites. I’d give anything to watch this for the first time again. Can’t wait till they tour again
Oh my these boys can play !!! Yes!!!! this is what i was talking about!!!!! Loving this !!! Great vocals harmony is spot on!!!!
Turnpike Troubadours - “Excellent!” I’m a Fan. Jonny Weiss “Hello Texas.” 🎶
Holy hell this was amazing! That fiddle ❤️
Kyle Nix is a legend
Simply badass ... Love this!!

Still my favorite tattoo all these years later. Stil can't believe I made it out

Great new years song spending it alone! Thankful and hope I get to heaven before the devil knows I’m dead!
Love this
thanks hear ya this is awesome !
That, sir, is exactly what I'm talking about!!!
This came on the background while I was working, and I thought it was a studio recording. Nearly crapped myself when I finally looked at the video. Awesome shit right here!
Wow, I would have loved this song years ago... B. S. I love it today.... Just do not think I can get there today.... Really wish I could..... Years do make a difference!!!!! Guy born in 1940...... Singer born in 1984.......
Love these guys!
WOWWW! Good God that rocked! Long live RedDirt music!
It will never die, its been around for awhile now. Thank god!

Loved it.
Been listening to turnpike since I was 7 ish in my dads ford ecoline I’m 18 now and I still get that feeling of going to San Antonio listening to the diamond and gasoline album
Love this band ever so much. Best writers eva!
Hell I'm 66 and lyrics and tune don't get much better.
68
One of the greatest bands to come along in some time , saw them in Flagstaff, everyone in the place knew every word to every song , it was inspiring
they were just in AZ? !?!? damn missed it!!!
Even in San Francisco this year - they sold out the Fillmore and the crowd knew all the words.
AMAZING! Great band!
Seen ur group live would pay to see it again at any opportunity
Great job!
wonderful song ..makes me happy
this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard
