I learned to drive on the road in a Toyota Landcruise flat bed . . We were bee keepers . . Great vehicle . Go any where . And great for doing 4wd wheel spins . . Umm . . Aparently 🤔🤣
Hi, Elton here. I'm not entirely sure where my own love of cars came from, but I did have a Saturday job in a garage when I was about 13 and, after a few months of sweeping floors and doing the sandwich run, I was taught how to do basic services on MG's. I got to see a lot of performance cars there, as it was one of the few garages that had a rolling road, so that part of my life would have had an impact on me as I was growing up.
@@trigsretromotors this is what happens when you have you tube on continuous play you make the wrong comment to the wrong person although with a bit of editing this is now the right comment to the right person and I haven't had loads to drink tonight 🤣🤣🤣. Sion, On the old Sharp stereo you undo the Volume/Tuner knobs and there will be some thin brass bolts on the spindles, you undo them then a flat trim panel will come off the spindles and then the radio pushes back and gives you screwdriver access to those clips so you can use a flat blade screwdriver and press them down, take out the panel, then pull the radio out. You don't take it out like a DIN radio as it has the spindles. Cheers Steve
Google . . Reg Cook Datsun Cherry (he raced one here in NZ ). . .or . . Datsun Cherry Race cars . . Some there mite interest you. . Reg got a specialy built 2.0litre nissan NS coupe with a twin cam 4 valves per cylinder engine . They achieved 174.5mph at Benneville . . That was a long vid but worth it . . Till next time . Hello from the colonies. [NZ] Learnt to drive in Model A Ford and a Morris Minor, depending on Dad's mood at the time. I'd love to have that light blue Mercedes convertible, or the Scimitar SE5a, the one inside. Clare, you need to get yourself a Merc. [.Just for a short while.] Once you've got it you'll never go back. I've got 4 older ones. Can't help myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video thank you! So many desirable cars at relatively good prices. I’m a Mustang fan though, so those 3 were my favourites. I own two examples of the late model (those are known as the S197, and that Grabber Orange one was by a well known US specialist called Roush, and its feature a supercharged 4.6 V8. My two……one is a black 4.6 V8 which is my Garage Queen (owned for 17 years now!) and a silver 4.0 V6 which is my daily driver, including the school run! As for what I learned to drive in, my instructor had a Mk1 Fiat Uno and I also used my mum’s MK1 Fiesta. Loving your channel 🙂
The great thing about the Mustang is they are as common as muck in the US so parts are cheap. I can get a full filter set delivered from the US (inc taxes) for £80. The parts themselves are less than £30, so it’s the delivery that stings. Insurance is about £400 from a specialist. They’ll do 18-20 mpg, so even that’s not too bad. Plus they are simple and reliable if looked after. Sure, they are a bit uncouth, but I buy into the Amercana. There’s a great club scene over here too (I help run the largest Mustang club over here…..Simply Mustangs UK 🙂

Thanks for the walk round Loved the Skoda and the story £25 and £ 75 now look at it a true classic thanks for sharing
The Alfa Romeo has its original Teledial wheels...! Pepper Pots tend to be found on Fords. Great video!
Pleased to see Claire looking well now Elton, my Headmaster drove a Ford Anglia back in the 1960's
I bought that ALFA 145 and I'm very happy about it. You have good taste!
Awesome! That car has such a stunning interior. We’re so glad it’s found a good home.
The e type is stunning
Best part Minis and presenter and the camera man gets an honourable mention.

Love the Austin's. Always wanted a Austin Ruby, now I can afford one we do not have a garage, so very sad.
Cossie had them as standard wheels, lattice style,I had 14 inch version on my xr3i convertible
Brill guys, would have to have that RS2000
Join the queue, lol. 🤣👍
Brilliant video guys, well done and thanks. A great verity to look at here but nothing beats out the two Sprints for me, I bloody love those things.
6 CWT = 6 Hundredweight = 600 pounds.
The ''C" in CWT standing for 'hundred' (as in century).
I love the yellow ford mustang GTI

If you have t seen a sloping dashboard, look at a Mark 3 Cortina GXL. It makes the VX 4/90 look flat.
The gorgeous silver fiesta 1.1S was missing the red inserts that pushed into the recessed wheel rim... Just saying 🤣
stalks look like mk2 mondeo i think
I would love a Karmann Ghia
now in my 70s in my time i owned 14 ford 105s dagenham dustbins

Who's Alex?

Didn't see you at the live one this time. Where you at home with mouse in hand like me.
No. I (Elton) was there both days and Claire was with me on the Sunday. We had our little son with us, so were on the edges of the hall this time 😃
@@UKBarnFinds Ok makes sense. I was waiting for your interview input, justified when you consider what you and Claire do for classic cars.
2 hours oh dear
Yeah, we went as quick as we could, too 😯

Great fun video. Some great cars. I'd bid on that repairable 2A Landrover. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
The dash in that Vaxhaul is very similar to what their sister company Holden were using here in Australia.
My engineering teacher had a Spartan! Mr Edmonds ! have to say his was far nicer than the one in the video lol!
He would become mr harry wales in thr u s a. But in the rest of the orld he would still be prince harry
Claire is gorgeous.
Roof on the hawk looks like a tramps hat!!
Hi Elton and Claire late to the party have been to busy being ill till now lol old age sucks!!!
We feel your pain! Hope you’re on the mend and thank you for the support. 🙏
I’d love to see more of what’s left of your Morris minor on the channel as I love a moggie too , great video, thanks 👍
Really enjoyed this ..cheers 😎
GREAT! Always, watch both the auction days on their own UA-cam channel! Fantastic stuff!
They do a great job at ACA. Lovely people, too. Do you join in the comments? Claire spends quite a lot of time there, if she’s at home.

That's a nice garage you've got there! Are modern American cars good as daily drivers? A lot of people assume they're expensive to run.
