Bought an Allegro 1750 for £8 in about 1982 (got 85mph from it!) - ran it for six months and then no surprise, the front N/S suspension collapsed! Shame about the inherent BL design fault - Maxis, Marinas, etc all suffered from this ailment.
I really enjoyed seeing the Austin Big Seven . Such a beautiful classic . I really appreciate the time and effort you both put in to provide us with such entertaining viewing. Thank you.
i had a new a Suzuki AP 50 when was sixteen in 1976 it was only five pounds more than than the FS1E at 245 pounds but had 5 five gears and a locking petrol cap which swung it for me but you got to love the purple paint on the FS1E
Thank you so much, poor Elton had (still has) a bad back so I had to take the lead on this one. With any luck Elton will be recovered enough next week for us to get in the workshop and carry on with the A30’s 👍
Brilliant video and can’t believe how much those barn finds have fetched especially the Vauxhall My late father Who owned and family still own a garage business in staffs will be amazed I had the ‘78 fizzy in maroon Fetch silly money I thought he Ap50 best my bro had one Love the old Austin Pre wars Great work Claire
Entertaining as ever, and seeing an Austin 1100 in Connaught green took me right back to my first ever car in 1974. I only got £45 for that a year later......
Nice to see another Chevette getting saved and nice colour, the Mk3 Cortina is a lovely looking car with the coke bottle shape...I really like the 1100, nearly bought a 3 door before a purchased my Chevette Oddy...and my first car was an Allegro, although not one here 😉...really enjoyed this one guys...😀
Another great video Claire & Elton. It was great to see you both at the sale. I'm still lusting after that Escort RS2000 though, lol. I personally like the colour Cordoba Beige as it's different and rare on an RS2000. That car is now up for sale on eBay through a dealer in Bournemouth at £35k! I love how you talked about The Professionals connection as im a massive fan of it. In regards to the Ford dealer Allen of Romford they're still going as a Ford dealer but are called Allen Ford now. My new boss worked there in his early career in the mid to late 70s. He also worked at Fords press car depot in Brentford and even test drove the RS2000 used in The Professionals in-between the film company using it. 😁👍
You are blessed to find a nearly rust free Kabett C Coupe from the late 1976-1979years maybe a Luxus or Berlina Version this was the highest comfort version
An enjoyable video, as always, thanks for this. I was fascinated by the variety of different models and the prices fetched. As the owner of a 'Sixlite' (four door) version of the Austin Big Seven, I particularly enjoyed seeing the lovely-looking Forlite. Well done too for including some interesting details about each of the models covered.
Me born 1968 in Germany haven’t seen too many Allegros either, but I liked the style.. Before there were Golfs and frontwheel driven Escorts and Kadetts this was quite an upheaval to drive a modern compact car like Alfasud or Fiat 127 before 1975…Only Renault 4 and 6 models were quite common in Germany..
Great vid as usuall . . . Allen of Romford is still a ford deal . . Google was my freind lol . . The cortina was nice i had one similar in 79 when i was living in london . . Also the Vanden Plas i didnt realise it had trays in the seats . . Cool . So many cars there . . And not enough money in my bank . . Till the next one . . Take care . . Bye from New Zealand . . 🍻👍💐🇳🇿
Another great content video, Claire you done so good with your commentary of each vehicle, had Elton not been so comfortable in the Rolls you may have been able to talk him into buying you the Chevette.
@@UKBarnFinds mine was a metallic cherry red, 1987 d reg. I replaced the seat as it was broken and the front mudguard. Spent hours polishing the chrome. Funniest thing was it had a top box, as I was riding past the local police station it snapped and flew off but luckily didn't hit anything.
Cant wait to see what the Rolls Royce goes for, will it be filmed the auction the day after? As the chap said it was down for going under the hammer the day after.
For once, I disagree with you Clare. I think the Vauxhall Chevette and the Austin 1100 would have been my personal choices. I have no time for the Ford range (even though I lived in Dagenham for a while) - never owned one and never want to!
It certainly IS an Alegro! Look at the shape. Badge engineering! Fantastic presentation, Claire
Allegro 😭🤯😂

Love the Cortina. Here in Australia we put straight 6 cylinder engines in these.
Awesome 👍 The Cortina looked stunning in person, surprised it didn’t go for more money actually.
Lovely slick presentation Claire , love the Austin Big Seven , the ' Forlite ' is the rarest version , hence the price .
Thank you Roger. I loved that Big 7 so much. As I said in the video though it was such an immaculate restoration I would be terrified to use it!
Allen of Romford is still selling Fords in Romford - part of the Allen Motor Group.
Fantastic, that’s great to hear they are still going 👍

Thank you Philip we really appreciate your support 🙂 and yes that Big Seven was stunning, even more so in person.

Great video Claire - nice format.

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed the video. I loved the 1100 too, that horizontal dash is so cool 😎
I had an early 1.3 Allegro as a Winter runaround in the late 80's, they were ok, i never had any issues with it
Thanks for sharing with us. Great to see what the barn find cars went for. Keep posting videos for us to enjoy. Cheers.
Great video again many thanks.
Absolutely first class video & I appreciate the update on the Opel, Jag & Land Rover, etc finds. Thanks folks, & well done. 😎
Thank you for your lovely comment Bill; much appreciated!
@@UKBarnFinds Why weren't the Jaguar and the Opel given a good wash before the auction? I'm sure it would have added to their prices!
I watched the auction on UA-cam both days. Will definitely go to one in person soon. Seem to know their stuff. Enjoyed the video👍

Good to see you, too! We play ‘spot the cars on eBay’ after every auction. It’s amazing how many of them quickly appear there 😂

the brown Cortina was actually 1 family owned (and 3 owners) from new mk2mitch featured it in his walkarround
did Elvis bid on the Rolls Royce?
Ahh…interesting. Love MK2 Mitch and Lauren 👍. I do know someone who bid on a Rolls Royce 😉 but it wasn’t Elvis…

That Vauxhall chevette £3240
They were terrible back in the day my father hated them in the 80,s
But heh great to see them
Phil
I like the Yamaha Fse Claire. I used to have a Yamaha Rxs100 as my first bike. I was a cool starter bike.
They are great bikes, what colour did you have?

Ahh…..great colour. Fancy the top box flying off outside the police station 😂
Was great, some interesting prices, the A90 wasa cheapie, but deep pockets to fix or a parts car perhaps 👍
Yup. Great coverage. Love the content. Great to see such a cross section of Classics. Up market Allegro 😂😂😂😂
Ps love fizzy bike
Spotted a rather nice Rover P5 3 Litre coupe, I wonder what that went for!
Just had a look on their website, the coupe went for £17, 280 including fees.
Thanks for that, those 3 Litre P5 cars are catching up on the V8 ones now, if they are in good condition! @@UKBarnFinds

@10.53, Neil had a 'Fizzy' he tells me
Cortina for me😊
I bought a yammaha 125 1980s for £250 in 1998 and sold it for £80😢
Mk3 tina ❤😍❤
Hey Simone 😀 she looked great in person as well, absolutely lovely. I honestly thought it would go for more money though….
@@UKBarnFinds Yes I'm surprised it went for such a low amount. maybe if it had been a GXL or a 2000E.
Hi
Unfortunately you did not cover the cars or prices that I am interested in , try to cover luxury and four wheel drive next time !!!!!
For once, I disagree with you Clare. I think the Vauxhall Chevette and the Austin 1100 would have been my personal choices. I have no time for the Ford range (even though I lived in Dagenham for a while) - never owned one and never want to!
1 day I were visit Anglia Auction I am from Seriab Kangar Perlis MR Ali jones
3 grand for the chevette! I bet it wasn't that new.
Wait ‘til you see what the RS2000 goes for 😳
Elton should have bought that Chevette for you Claire
I should have bought it for me! Sore point 😂 ~ Elton
@@UKBarnFindsOut of all the stuff you buy you let the one decent car slip though!
That Opel Cadet sold for a good price because it is Japanese
The guy in blue while you were in the rolls killed the shot builders bum😤 sorry
Haha! I hadn’t even noticed that. Just had a look. That’s hilarious 🤣
