You could theoretically use the prophecy shotgun like a final round shotgun from d1 where you load and fire the last shot over and over because the origin trait boosts damage.
For Judgement, one thing I am really interested about is how Headstone and Timed Payload will interact. if Whisper of Fissure is equipped, my assumption is that if you get the kill with the headshot portion the following explosion might actually shatter the crystal straight away, and if that's the case it might actually be worth considering in some instances, as it'd just be a crazy beefed up dragonfly.
Really expecting someone to find a new sparrow/skimmer flying tech. So far though I am loving them though. We just need a tech for gaining height like sparrow flying and sparrows are completely dead which is crazy to say. I saw people saying that when the skimmers were announced and I thought "no way that happens, sparrows will still be the dominate choice after a few weeks" but they might have been right. Like I am just impressed. I fully expected them to be kinda bad. I was thinking they would be cool but I was hoping it would be another vehicle to summon like you could summon either your skimmer or your sparrow without having to swap in a menu, and/or you could use the skimmer in places a sparrow cant be used, or being able to fire from them. But they are good enough movement wise I am not disappointed we cant do those other things. Also Tusk of the Boar... I am so stoked but it will only be meta for like 3 months since they are nerfing chain reaction on special weapons. Oh and Anarchy being back to where it was during beyond light is cool. I dont think it will be meta though just because exotic primary weapons are now so good its hard to justify but I am happy its back.
First impressions are skimmers are nowhere near replacing sparrows. The lack of destabilizers means that stuff like box breaks are much harder on them (pretty much have to syncbox or upbox, the latter is skimmer only. Skimmers cannot bbox unfortunately). The only things skimmers have over sparrows imo is being faster with the boost/dodge spam and upbox. Also like you pointed out, they can't gain infinite height (without a wall or a quantum skimmer) and they can't infinitely travel horizontally, both of which sparrows can do via slipstreaming. If tech gets discovered, then sure, maybe they're worth considering, but imo they just feel awful compared to sparrows. Maybe they're better for speedruning, but from the perspective of someone who has spent years learning sparrow tech, they basically took what makes sparrows fun, made it worse, then they ruined them by eliminating the skill ceiling. This is made worse by the fact that Bungie made a HUGE buff to slipstreaming by letting you double boost into a 6 set, where in the past you would have to spend a dodge per boost, meaning that you only get a 5 set with 1 boost, or a 4 set with two. Pretty much all of my issues with them would just be fixed if they gave them destabilizers, but trait swapping (summon vehicle, switch equipped vehicle to make the summoned one inherit the traits) destabilizers on a skimmer literally does nothing, so I have little hope that that will change. Maybe tech gets discovered that fixes my issues with them (it IS only the first day, after all), but I don't have high hopes. I'm glad that they're in the game for people who can't be bothered to learn sparrow tech, but I can't help but be upset that their first impression was godawful for the majority of the sparrow community, despite the fact that I 100% expected this to happen
@@SenrabMJam ah sorry I meant for most players they will be replacing sparrows. People who know sparrow tech of course aren't swapping, unless more tech is discovered. Skimmer's probably won't change speedrun tech, but they've certainly made similar options available to players that don't know techs. Best example of this I've found so far, Hypernet Current GM, you can use the skimmer to grind across the gap from the start of the sparrow section to the end, my group found this out because we hate that sparrow section, now we take that skip, push up to the third champion then send one person back to do the sparrow section. The taken blights despawn by the third champ but you need to do the sparrow section to trigger the game to realise we're far ahead so it's easier than potentially wiping at that section.
