My 98 ext cab Tacoma has no abs and is stripped down. I have locked up my front tires a couple times with the stock brakes as is. So I opted to just overhaul with new powdercoated calipers and upgrade the rotors, pads, and lines over stock or a brake kit. Everyone has different needs. Props for going your way to put your brake kit together. It looks awsome. You can put rear discs from a supra also but I just overhauled my rear drums and did a manual adjustable proportioning valve since the oem valve started to leak.
I got my brake upgrade done, it wasn't cheap for sure.. I tried drilling the spindle larger waste of time, ended up using a carbide bit and rolled it around making the hole larger until the caliper bracket fit flush.. could not find a machine shop to do my rotors, So I used a tire machine at work to center the rotor and used a carbide bit and spun the rotor until I got it ground out. Works fine, I believe it needs to be like 86-87MM with a angle bevel on the edge of the hole. Don't waist time drilling and tapping the rotor to hub, put rotor on hub and mark and drill holes and use nuts and Loctite plenty of room on inside. Break pedal feels like a solid rock. Good luck

Would you recommend running drop spindles with that set up??? How do you find the spring rate at 565?? I’m planning a very similar set up for a track car did you notice a big difference in cornering??
I havent tried a drop spindle with the brakes but i would definitely recommend them for any type of track setup. it keeps the tie rod geometry much closer to stock than a balljoint flip so you wont have issues with bump steer. I dont know if qa1 still offers a 565lb spring but id go with 600 or higher for a track setup. they still offer that and the part # is 8mb600. The difference between stock and the qa1's is light years apart. the qa1's are so much better all around. you can even get the double adjustables if you wanna get more serious about tuning your suspension. i also just ordered some adjustable rear qa1 shocks that i'll be throwing on as soon as i get them.
