Thanks for your concerns Karen. It's people like your that make others hesitant to help. Most bikes are stolen and parted out. Not ridden. Nobody is trying to hiotwire a bike in a parking lot. They are just throwing them in the back of trucks or vans. Dumbest comment award
2013 gsxr 750 was stolen got it bck but the ignition was damage i try doing a switch with a resistor but it won’t start getting spark, fuel & air all it do is crank even try starter fluid still don’t start bike isn’t getting any code don’t know what else to do
Say bro i got one of those amazon aftermarket ignitions for my 04 r600 it had 2 tabs inside by where the wires go into i was told to solder a 100omh resistor between those two points but it still wont prime the fuel pump... What am i doing wrong? The aftermarket ignition also has totally different color wires than the bike wiring or some of the aftermarket ones ive seen online. I just downloaded the service manual gonna study the wiring and see if i can figgure out whats going on... Do you have any experience with these new aftermarket ignitions with the 2 unsoldered unconnected tabs on that wiring plate inside the ignition?
Does this work on a 94 gsxr750? I have no spark. Previous owner put a new ignition on he bought from Amazon and I don’t think it has the resistor in it. So my question is are the wire colors all the same on all Gixxers? I don’t want to cut wrong one.

06 gsxr600 I know this has happen to someone else not just me lol. . . In my key ring only the plastic SUZUKI key holder was left the actual key came off. Need help can i get a resistor from an appliance ? Radio or DVR ?
The resistor itself is in the ignition switch. the part that you put the key into. BMWs have a resistor in their keychain. And as far as I know, that's it. I'm pretty fairly certain that Suzuki does not have that technology. so as long as you don't cut the wires and you can drill your ignition out and turn it, It should start theoretically. Or if you use a jiggler key or if you get another key made. The key doesn't have the anti-theft chip in it. In fact, there isn't a chip. resistor itself is inside The ignition and as long as that ignition is turned over it's going to work as far as the resistor is concerned
I I have an 01 katana Suzuki my ignition has already been pulled due to lost key and been messing up lately so I cut the wires and am wanting to wire it to a toggle but I don’t know which wire my resistor needs to connect too and which ones need to go to hot side vs ground side of toggle

There has to be away but like you said its hard to find info. Grudge bikes get rid of the ignition but good luck getting any of them to talk which is why when I figured something out I made a video on it. It may be easier to find a ecu, and a ignition with a key, or just a ignition with a key and find someone to program it.
Cut Solid orange wire on ignition harness close to the wiring harness plug. Cut Orange with yellow stripe wire close to the connector. Install a 100 ohm .5 watt 5% carbon resistor on the solid orange wire closest to the connector. Connect the other side of the resistor to the orange with yellow stripe closes to the connector. Run a wire from the orange/Yelleow wire with the resistor to a toggle switch. Connect the other side of the orange wire (ignition side) to the other end of the toggle switch. Reconnect the plug to the harness, flip switch on, and push start button. You do nothing with the Orange/yellow wire on the ignition side.

Hey man I have a similar problem on my 01 sv650. Long story short attempted theft they cut the green connector from main harness to ignition. I bought a new ignition, tried to wire it and nothing, discovered said resistor tip. So your video ki d of answered this, but if I want this to work exactly like the OEM key on ignition do I follow this with the resistor tied in or do I have to redo the whole wiring like you did here? Reading everything online states that if you do the resistor method, it makes it more of a track bike, ie no fans, headlights, signals, horn, or gauges. Just trying to figure this out to ride again been at it 4 days and dont wanna drop more money on a shop to rape the wallet

@@georgehambric6 For the aftermarket keyswitch I think the wires were different color from the factory one. But on the factory plug from the bike maybe it was orange and yellow I can't find a picture right now

Update! Rewired the orange and yellow and solid orange. Now I turn the key and turns on fine. Took the ignition out and the resistor is ran to the black and white wire and a soldering point where you can’t tell the wire color. Any ideas from here? I have a good idea but open to other options. 100 ohm resistor on Kawasaki and I think Suzuki as well. don't even need the shit for the newer r1's. I know cause I do keyswitch deletes for friends who race
@@roderickmatthews7029 on an 07 I'm not sure, it's either a brown or grey wire that you have to jump with a 100ohm resistor to the wire the becomes hot after the switch would normally be turned on, then u can just replace the key with a toggle such as the run and kill switch

go to a electronics shop a buy a 100 ohm / .5 watt resistor for a few cents or a packet for a few dollars this guys instructions are total shit a relay is not even necessary to get spark from the cdi to the coils, the resistor cuts 12v to about 10 volts on the grey wire inside the original key contacts that goes to the cdi box you can add it at the cdi box wiring spliced between the orange and grey wire if you want and run no key ignition but will need a toggle switch to turn on battery red wire to the orange wire to make ignition power up so you can crank it over. this is for track bike running no lights etc

r6 is just like the r1 look up the woodcraft keyswitch eliminator for your bike find a good pic and zoom in pay attention to the with color and you should be able to figure it out

Best thing to do is get a wiring diagram and find out which is the ignition switch and look on forms tosee if a resistor is required

For 2010 they have a chip inside of the key then you have to get the key married to the ecu.

So which wires r the resistors connected to cuz u just give the colors not the wires names.

I believe with that year the key has to be married to the ecu so usually the resistor don't work.

Have you checked all of the fuses including the ignition fuse on the starter relay.

My lights worjed like normal but I had a separate switch for my fan. You can wire the fan so that it works like normal.

As far as hooking up an remote start I really dont know much about it. As far as the resistor its a 100 ohm resistor.

Depends. If you get an actual own ignition then it'll work but if you get an eBay one then it's a crapshoot.

hey bro i already wired my bike because i lost the key and couldnt afford the locksmith. so i did a bypass to the killswitch. so when i flick my killswitch it starts the bike.. i Wanted to ask you how i can install the toggle switch and which wires to connect the switch to. mind me im pretty stupid with this kinda stuff its a miracle ive got this far... thank you for any help.

I need help!! My bike k6 would start and run for a minute till f1 light came on. Code c42. I did the resistor and now when I turn the key nothing. Not even the accessories. No power at all! Please help
Update!
Rewired the orange and yellow and solid orange. Now I turn the key and turns on fine. Took the ignition out and the resistor is ran to the black and white wire and a soldering point where you can’t tell the wire color. Any ideas from here? I have a good idea but open to other options. Thanks

@@roderickmatthews7029 on an 07 I'm not sure, it's either a brown or grey wire that you have to jump with a 100ohm resistor to the wire the becomes hot after the switch would normally be turned on, then u can just replace the key with a toggle such as the run and kill switch

Tylar Johnson drk kit racing fb page. You can message me there. I know what type of lock it is. You turn the ignition key all the way to to left and it looks the wheel. There is a pin on the fork that pushes out. That's what needs cut

go to a electronics shop a buy a 100 ohm / .5 watt resistor for a few cents or a packet for a few dollars this guys instructions are total shit a relay is not even necessary to get spark from the cdi to the coils, the resistor cuts 12v to about 10 volts on the grey wire inside the original key contacts that goes to the cdi box you can add it at the cdi box wiring spliced between the orange and grey wire if you want and run no key ignition but will need a toggle switch to turn on battery red wire to the orange wire to make ignition power up so you can crank it over. this is for track bike running no lights etc

The key has to be programmed to the ecu. I would see who can do that in your area.

r6 is just like the r1 look up the woodcraft keyswitch eliminator for your bike find a good pic and zoom in pay attention to the with color and you should be able to figure it out
