  • After the trials of my previous camp down on Dartmoor I went back to my "local" hills - Bannau Brycheiniog / Beacon Beacons. I was looking for a nice chilled experience and for much of the time that's what I got. But come the early hours the wind had other ideas.

Excellent video of your relaxing camp. Superb views as you climbed to your pitch which had excellent views. A bit of wind didn't spoil your camp. Many thanks and best wishes.

Glad you enjoyed it Andy. Views from hill in sunshine are always good aren't they. All the best, Roger

Glad you had a more relaxed camp this time!
It's mad when those paths just disappear. Always makes me think I've got lost or going the wrong way.
    Thanks again for the video

Thanks Lloyd. Paths disappearing - often find I've been following a sheep track!

Yes, it's always good to have a chilled, drama free camp Roger. Thank you for the kind words too. I might have a bit of knowledge about me but am severely lacking in commonsense.....you might say, gormless even (as they say in Lancashire). My dear old ma used to call me Frank Spencer. 😉

The one thing about common-sense (in my humble opinion) is that it's surprisingly uncommon. 😀 I think you do yourself a disservice, but mothers are generally correct! All the best, Roger

Well, you certainly had a beauty of a day to start!! I certainly find it difficult to sleep in the wind...I'd be exhausted in the morning for sure! Packing up in the cold I always find difficult. The views really are spectacular. Have a wonderful weekend!

I slept surprisingly well given the wind noise. that tent doesn't really flap all that much in the wind, which helps I guess.. It was very cold for the first hour or so in the morning though. Thanks for watching, roger

Full view Roger. A lovely approach - I mean the afternoon weather. Hopes for a relaxing camp are high especially with a spectacular pitch as that. Ha, I'm a local wild camper (one great vid up recently) and I ensure the correct pronunciation - I love the Welsh place names and knowing about them. Well, lovely up top despite the wind that yeah can sooth but to much can drive you mad. Good going. Mark

Thanks Mark. It's been hard to find any decent weather to get out lately so I felt quite lucky to get some for that camp.ATB, Roger

@@thewanderingforester A pleasure Roger. Yeah, I guess we've been looking for them weather windows - good on you. I came across a good weather window the other week - on my channel if interested. Peace.

Definitely up for another. My feet are a little bit better at longer walks and I have better boots as well. So even boggy places should be fine. Trouble is, since I don't drive, hard to do wildcamping on my own. One day maybe

Later in the year I'll try to come up your way. Maybe camp in the Peak District?

Well today the weather dumped nearly 3 inches of snow on us up in Cinderford, so I think perhaps the weather gods heard you!. The northern escarpment is a great place to wake up. ATB, Roger

Lovely clear video shots in your film and colourful. Very brave facing the elements for camping though. Enjoyed your outdoor experiences. Looked like a relaxing hike.

Yea, the hike in was pretty good, sun was out and hardly any wind. That changed overnight of course but i was already chilled out by then so it didn't phase me. Thanks for watching, Roger

Hey Roger! You're definitely getting your fair share of lively weather 😅everyone is wearing shorts now, irrespective of the temperature... I reckon in years to come there'll be a generation of folk with groaning knees. Never mentioned it before, but love the hat! ATB - Sue

Thanks Sue. All we seem to get lately is lively weather, eventually you just have to get out in it! Yeah, hat - an emergency buy when I lost one on Dartmoor. Thanks for watching, ATB Roger
