I like how this started with a cute obscure creature and immediately shifted to intense sorcerer cultists and monster death cults😅
Star Wars without the expanded universe would be just another movie franchise. The expanded universe writers created a universe full of wonders with passion and enthusiasm, into their work they put their soul and in doing so they gave a soul to star wars. The expanded universe is exciting, fascinating and full of wonder and that's why it is superior to Disney's mediocrity. We have Grandmaster Luke Skywalker!
And thus the disney mediocrity failed.
Star Wars wouldn't just be another franchise. It the became the American Odyssey before the first EU book came out.
Lmao, the sequels were trash cause they seemed like something taken directly from the expanded universe
Disney has been ruining star wars
@@Zeb0101 Taken from the EU and twisted to provide marketing in a time of society where inclusiveness and female representation is at an all time high, although the way they went about doing this was all wrong and if they had thought about it more with a detailed story, than it would've been liked more.
Rey is extremely powerful for no reason, Finn should be paralyzed at worst or dead at best, Kylo Ren is a stupid character that might have killed the New Republics Jedi Temple, yet wields a lightsaber as if it were heavy as a sledgehammer (I know lightsabers are heavy, but if you go toe to toe with an entire fledgling jedi temple and win, you've gotta be quicker), absolutely terrible lightsaber duels that displayed no skill, and much much more.
Knowing Star Wars in its entirety is an expensive task in both time and wealth.
No I didn't know anything about the Charon but I'm glad to know that there was a splinter group that broke away from the hopelessness and started decent and honest lives of their own and I didn't know that there was a planet named rainbow and the natives that inhabited it good work Geetsly 10/10 thank you for the video.
Thank you Geetsly your a awesome dude.
@@kyleslavik6324 it’s not them. It’s a fake telegram bot scam going around. They’ve made 3 accounts now as the first 2 have been banned and deleted. It’s all a fake scam
@@dnooch2147 okay thank you for letting me know it has been going around lately.
All I can say is thank you for the many videos you’ve made. It’s stuff like this makes me proud to be Star Wars fan
I knew the Charon existed (thanks to the RPG sourcebook "The Ultimate Alien Anthology") but most of the details were new. The Sorcerers of Rhand I knew from "Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor", and from the "Jedi Academy Training Manual" RPG sourcebook. The Jeby was news to me, though as you described it I was thinking "That sounds like it was made by a small child", which turned out to be more or less exactly true (although 7 is probably a little older than what most would class as "small child" )
Same, the only thing new to me was the Jeby, hope he keeps it up though, and REALLY digs into the obscure stuff.
Over a thousand videos, and still going strong. Keep it up Geetsly’s
I knew of the Sorcerers of Rand and that they were a death cult thanks to the stories of Cronal, and I had heard of the Warriors of Shadow indirectly, but I didn't know the whole story.
That was definitely a lot more obscure stuff than most "obscure SW lore" videos & lists, which tend to cover stuff from old WEG-Era source books, bad novels from the 90's (Waru seldom fails to get a mention), and crap from the Droids and Ewoks cartoons (and sometimes other 80's media too).
And of these, I was aware of the Charon and the Sorcerers of Rhand, but not in detail.
The Old EU or Legends had a lot of lore that it absolutely looney when given a lot of thought to it.
That joke about Anakin on Mustufar was SO out of left field.
It's because you had the low ground
I'd heard of all of these but didn't know much. I think the most interesting semi-obscure Star Wars fact I know about is that The Yuuzhan Ving had a puppet government known as the Ylesian Republic. Another is the two droid species that destroyed the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy both appear in legends, one IN Dorids and the other in the Lando trilogy
After heard of Charon, I am surprised nobody, aside from the Dread Masters, ever thought of committing omnicide against the entire galaxy to put an end to all sorts of conflicts.
Ya know a piece of lore I wish was in this video? The Five! Now THEYRE obscure.
By the way, I love your videos so much, they give me everything I need out of regular Star Wars lore.
Also, hello from the Stupendous Wave Team!
Ive liked the story in which a Tusckan raider became a jedi and of course everything within the E.U. after return of the jedi. The war with the vong along with Jason's fall to the dark side was an amazing arc. Also events after that like Luke and his journey with his son Ben when the Mother returns and jedi start going insane.
Interesting to consider that Maul may have modeled his spider legs after Charon. Filoni started around late season 3, so he may have made it seem that way on purpose.
The more lore the better, we are ravenous.
The Jeby is the Geode of the legends.
nah the diffrence is the Jeby are made by a 7 year old and geode is made by adults
1.) The Jerby: It's cool that there were other contests and the like where fans got to create something to become canon. The closest thing I ever heard of before this video was that contest to pick that Jedi to be in the 2003 Clone Wars Mirco series, where the Wolf Jedi won.
2.) The Charon: Huh, I'm guessing Brother Eye was a big fan of these guys. Now it makes so much sense why in the DC comic Future's End he converted most of Humanity into cyber spider people. LOL.
Also, as for the obscure lore I know, compared to you Geetsly and your great network, I don't know much. The most I know are a few obscure characters here and there. Such as the Grand Moff Naomi Ddargon, who I only know of because I looked up Grand Moffs on Wookiepedia looking for a decently obscure ruthless one for a fanfic I made, and also Clone Trooper Wildfire a member of the Wolfpack that fought against the Empire, because I looked up as many Clones that either disobeyed Order 66 or we're forced to do it but realized later it was wrong and joined the fight against the Empire because I'm very interested in that stuff.
Most ppl don't realize just how absolutely wild Star Wars actually is
Disney doesn't seem to give a fuck however but that's neither here nor there
Yo geets, please keep posting the obscure and rare contents of Star Wars, it’s genuinely the best part about Star Wars.
What's black and red and white all over? Palpatine after his duel with Windu. Sorry. I couldn't resist.
Looks like someone is catching up on the Cult and Supernatural Encounters novellas.
Love being apart of the community to hear "almost a thousand videos over the years"gave me chills. I remember watching these videos with my little brother in my parents house, and I'm a college graduate moving to my masters and my brother just started his 2nd year at University. Crazy how time flies, keep em coming Geetsly!
I definitely didn't know a adorable polkadot rainbow tentacle monster before this
The first one was a surprise but the other two are well known to me, especially the sorcerers. They are both great mid level antagonists in the saga edition tabletop game, which has a surprisingly complete wiki.
As a Star Wars fan this video has blown me away tbh and I think a second episode is needed
The Jeby could be Abaloth force droppings floating about in the dark force sewer system of the outer rim. Tentacle creatures are the worst to me. The potential to force penetrate my face openings for probing sounds bad. Like really bad.
I knew about the Lovecraftian horrors of the second lore faction. I saw a picture of that thing with stars all over itself on the cover of a book back in middle school.
I had heard of the sorcerers and knew quite a bit (but not all) about the charons, but besides that this really was some very interesting and obscure info
Everyone needs to know about the Senate.
I AM the senate!
NOT YET!!!
Its treason then...
I don't think I had previosly heard about any of these. Nice to learn something new about Star Wars lore
It would be interesting to see the effects of a strong New Republic making large campaigns to the Unknown Regions to "conquer/tame" the 'Wild West' of the galaxy.
found the channel and gotta say excellent work
This feeling when you know final piece of "most obscure things youdidn't know" style vid.
And we have watched about 1000 of them videos, loved this one! Thanks for being the best youtuber out there! Great vid!
I knew a little of everything so thank you for the vid. I love everything even the 1st one but with my head canon of that first one. I didn’t know to much of anything until I saw this vid so thanks again this is one of the reasons I love Star Wars.
I remember reading about the Sorcerers of Rhand and how the Gunninga Gap takes its name from Norse Mythology.
Geetsly woke the Balrog
the charon splinter group seems pretty similiar to what happened with the esh-ka in swotor.
You didn’t mention the b’omarr regeneration gems under Jabba’s palace or “unidentified Rodian in loincloth” ;)
This is why I love Star Wars, you can always found new pieces lore to explore even when you think you I've already see everything.
The Jeby is like a Star Wars x Dr Seuss crossover lol
I'm surprised that I had actually heard about TWO of these things before but overall wow this was incredibly obscure and amazing to hear about
I lovedeath cults. Euron crows-eye is one of my favorite characters in asoiaf and the faceless men are by far the best assassins ever made
TYVM for all your hard work. You all fill in the blanks and keep me going back to Audible to listen again for things I missed, completely. I just finished up the Fate of the Jedi series and overall I must say I am impressed with the story as a whole. Not really sure how Obi Wan was able to archive his account of the monolith encounter when they were all mind wiped. Back to you guys! However, it opened up the possibilities of furthering the spreading threat of the Sith as well as keeping the Imperial Remnants skulking about the galaxy. MOSTLY I really dig the Hapan Consortium. If you care to make a video on that story that would be cool. Telling the tragedy of the death of that great story line could help the fan base to keep the pressure on Dis to revitalize it. Spin off it. Mash it up in a blender and serve it over ice....what ever. The Jacyn-Ben-Rey conjunction by way of rape focused inbreeding of characters by Disney was shameful. Not to mention the complete exclusion of several clan Solo members. It is all cannon now so, oh well. I just really like Tenniael Ka Jo and her Rancor tooth light saber. A FING RANCOR TOOTH for a handle lightsaber with a teal colored blade got me. I mean she had to kill the thing first, right? Allana (Hapan Princess) is a seriously cool little powerhouse of a character with tons of potential, and she has a pet Nexu. (the creature that went after Padme in the pit on Geonosis in E.2). Their ships are interesting. I like the cruiser design.
Dude, I never knew about this stuff! Thank you!
You're the best Star Wars channel in my opinion Geetsly's, keep it up!
Know about the Sorcerers of Rand but I wasn’t aware of their full history. As for the other two the first one was most obviously made by a child. The last one was a bit bleak but I’m glad that some Charon got out.
I need a Sorcerers of Rhand live action Disney+ show now.
I just want to thank you for making these vids i am a huge star wars fan and my man you made me almost a expert in the star wars Lore
*Geetsly casually talking about one of Star Wars' many death cults*
*Me saying to myself*
Wow that guy (@ 9:59) has a chin that could hit a home run and a forehead to mount the scoreboard on
All of these are more cannon than the sequels
Huh, well, this was a very fascinating and interesting video, i wonder what more unknowns exist in the Star Wars Lore? If you ever cover any more of it? I will look forward to find out.
The most obscure fact I know is that if you try to use a lightsaber like a sword you probably won't be able to cut through anything (or at least virtually anything).
PS: You probably won't be able to block much either.
A lot of the unknown space is still unknown to me. I think a lot of that stuff came after the clone wars and the bane and maul books, I'm still left in the dark about. Have been meaning to read the plagueis and revenge of the sith books but my reading list is already pretty long
Feels like an episode of Jojo:
Stand? Check.
Weird cult? Check.
Storytelling that must absolutely have context in order to be fully understood? Check.
Delved greedily and Deep?
I really hope there are no Yuuzhan Vong Balrogs. That would suck.
Nice LOTR reference in the vid. As an avid fan of both Star Wars and Tolkien it is appreciated.
before you insult the Jeby here is some back ground information on Paul Rice. He was a second grader studying in USA missuouri and had a learning disability although he did not actually win the contest he was given an honorable mention.
I'm pretty sure that's the plot of a certain Dr Seuss book. Isn't there one about a think looking for it's spots.
This dude makes the sw content in my opinion.
0:42 thought we were gonna hear about a Balrog for a moment there :)
If I looked like the Charons, I’d think my existence was an abomination too🤧💀
The last group of that spider race. That one I had heard about them.
Its a shame the Sorcerers of Rand were never written about in actual books.
I knew about the last two but that first one is awesome!
I was already aware of the Sorcerers of Rhand and the Charon, but had never heard of the Jeby until now.
Can we get like 12 more of these this was great
Star Wars: plot armor
Also Star Wars: a space ship that looks like a ship from centuries ago
I have a Star Wars Galaxy comic with the Jeby was jus looking at it today!
I love this lore video. thanks for the great upload 👍
Don’t trust that message. It’s a fake scam channel
Please make a video about the giants from the forest moon of Endor known as the Phlags please
These groups kind of reminds me of The Dreadmasters from the Knights of the Old Republic game.
imagine being born as an alien just for some UA-camr from another planet to call you whacky. that is beyond funny
I would love a full lore video on Dromund Kaas. It’d be a doozy.
The Charon are decently well known. You can find a lot of videos about them.
Yes, and he’s using the awake soundtrack again!
So it's a spider with four legs. Groundbreaking.
0:40 nice Moria/balrog reference
Oh legends never change
Heard of all of these except the Jeby. Interesting, cute little thing it is too. Aha.
A loveable bunch he says!!!
E.T. is a force sensitive.
The fact we haven't seen those wonderful creatures from the rainbow planet is enough to warrant a riot
it's stuff like this that makes Star Wars!!! The EU/Legends is Star Wars at its purest and best form!
Can we have a video about the Sorcerers of Tund? We know they’re a dark side cult splintered off from the old Sith Empire, but we have so little information on what they are and how their organization ran itself.
Heard and read about 2 and heard of the charon but no details about them. 1 was completely unknown to me.
Played in otherspace adventure back in the day.
In a legends star wars book called the crystal star there was a a star circling a blackhole. The star was dead and had turned to crystal. Luke had gone to a station near the crystal star and in the book it says that the vibration of the crystal star had a nullifing effect on the force. It blocked his ability to use the force. Only when he was far enough away could he use the force again.
the coolest part about SW EU is that all of it was added to the story as a labor of love. So, it became deep and nebulous like the web of myths in ancient times with endless side tales added over time. SW is truly a modern myth.
The second and the third I knew. First I didn't.
Recognized the two I did from WEG star wars ttrpg sourcebooks. They are, imho, criminally underappreciated as lore sources considering their impact behind the scenes and their thoroughness.
Example, when Zahn was tasked with revitalizing the brand with The Thrawn Trilogy, the company sent the rpg in response to the author's request for setting information.
He had access to everything else, but the rpg books were laid out in a way and we're so detailed in the minutiae that they were even mentioned by the author in interviews.
Also, random shit from them have shown up in the TV series on Disney so, I mean they're still getting referenced.
The Expanded Universe makes u think
3:09 i’m terrified. I think this is one big trick bu the creature to make u happy all the while your in a dream state and it’s eating you, I’m staying the hell away from this place
Should do Lost Tribe of the Sith next.
what's the ancient jedi starsailor called again?(pictured in the first 10 seconds here, pretty sure Geetsly's did a vid on it but can't remember it now ...)
Valenthyne Farfalla's flagship, the Fairwind.
Yeah the weird polka dot sentient from rainbow is quite a new one to me. Never heard of them. Must be annoying to have to suck your dots up everytime you laughed too hard. the kid in me chuckled a bit there.
What other living beings were living in other space, when the charon began their conquest?
1st one, no I've never heard of. The latter 2, yes I have. I think it's brilliant that an 8 year old contributed to the Starwars Legendarium!! 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
Please make a video on the Mnggal-Mnggal. I would wager that most fans haven’t heard of it
