    Simultaneously holding both buttons down on the Yeti Nano while plugging in the USB seemed to reset the device in some way. The Bottom button cycled yellow and red during the process. Afterward it still says "DFU in FS" in Device Manager but the Sherpa App now recognizes the device and I was able to apply the firmware update successfully. The Sherpa app said the device was at v 0 and was updated to v4.5. www.reddit.com/r/microphones/comments/9roarp/blue_yeti_nano_no_longer_detected_by_windows_10/

    I was playing league of legends and streaming when suddenly my microphone stopped listening. I had to stop the transmission and see what happened.
    This microphone is crap and they better get it back before they lose the warranty. From the moment I took it out of its box and connected it, it gave me problems.
    wont recognize. I had to change USB cable. it served me for 4 months until what happened in the first paragrap.
    now its broken. and it's bullshit not finding clear answers anywhere. or any support from the page

    Very helpful I was doing it differently but there was a delay. Now with your unmute trick, there is no delay on monitoring my voice. thanks!

    • @InfoGuerra
      @InfoGuerra 7 років тому

      In case you're wondering how to get rid of the delay, go to the recording tab on the Blue Yeti, then Properties, then Listen, there uncheck "Listen to this device". Then go back to Playback on the blue Yeti and do the unmuting on microphone, just like the Professor did on the video. Now you will no longer have the delay on your headphones.The sensibility however is now regulated on the Levels tab with the microphone gage on Playback tab of the Blue Yeti, no longer on Recording tab, I suggest a value of 30 to minimice background noise. You tray your own value. If you don't uncheck the Listen to this device checkbox, there will be a delay on your voice monitoring thru the headphones. it is annoying to monitor your voice with delay, almost impossible to concentrate.Some people don't notice the delay but once you do this, you will definitely notice the difference.Thanks to the Professor for this video.if you want to se my Blue Yeti in action, click on my Icon, it will take you to my channel InfoGuerra.tv

      Not sure how to fix that. Did you try deleting the device and then plugging it back in? If that doesn't work you might want to try contacting Blue support: www.bluemic.com/service-requests/

    • @TheRealAdamT
      @TheRealAdamT 8 років тому

      That really sucks. I have deleted it and reconnected. No change. This didn't happen until I upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1. On 8.1 everything was fine.

    I found a fix for my own personal issue. The yeti would not pick up any form of audio whenever I would power on my PC. I would need to unplug the yeti and plug it back in for it to begin working normally.
    I found out that changing any of the microphone settings within Windows 10 (mic volume, renaming the device) would cause this to happen. I have since uninstalled the drivers, unplugged, restarted and plugged back in and have not changed anything and I have not had the issue since.
    Hope this helps someone out there!

    My live monitoring randomly stopped working overnight. Went to make sure it wasn't muted (Playback Devices->Yeti Nano->Level), but the option for microphone is gone. I've reinstalled drivers, and am struggling to find others with this problem. This mic is less than a week old, and has been working fine. All other functionalities are working. Any ideas?

    When I want to use my yeti pro as my default playback device, sometimes when I click on a UA-cam video it WONT play, when I enter a game there will be NO sound, until I unplug and plug back the mic or disable and enable it. How do I fix this?? And it also doesn't work when I want to use it for voice chat in let's say overwatch, and only OCCASIONALLY works in audacity, sometimes the green bar doesn't even move, in recording devices for the blue yeti. How the hell do I fix this, the first day I receive the mic and there's so many problems.

    THANK YOU!!!!!! My mic got unplugged ( has happened many times ) But this time for some reason it everything got reset to default. For me the fix was changing the default volume from 82 to 0. (4:44 in vid ) Took me 2hours to find out what it was even bought a new cable and almost a new mic entirely.

    Not sure if you are still up to the task of helping others but I am at a loss with my blue yeti mic. I have been trying for multiple hours a day for the past few days to get it working. Windows recognizes that I have a mic, when I listen to it I can hear myself speaking, but when I go to use it with another application, it never picks up any sound. In a program like discord there is no sound when I go to speak. Windows does not display any green bars indicating sound but I know for a fact it is not hardware related.

    Gang, I know it sounds odd, but if you are still having problems with the mic being recognized, I saw this solution and it worked. Use an older USB cable. It will work. Very odd. I plugged it into my 2.0 USB ports and now it works fine. My 3.0 and neither my 2.0 worked with the new cable that came with it. Freaking odd!! Good luck all!

      Hi Joel, that stinks. Did you review all the comments on this video? There are lots of tips from others and myself on things to try. For example - try a different USB port, different cable, try it on another computer to make sure it is not defective, etc...... If you exhaust all the tips in the comments and the video doesn't help, you might want to contact Blue support. They should get back to you pretty quickly.

    @Piano Tipping Hey, Piano Tipping. Today, my blue yeti randomly stopped recording, and so I restarted the computer. When my computer was back on, the mic recorded, but only for like 20 seconds. I tried to disable my headphones-mic and enable/disable the blue yeti speaker under playback. I also tried going into both the blue yeti mic and speaker to enable and disable the "allow programs to take exclusive control of this device"-button. I've also tried to reinstall its driver. What keeps happening now is that if I move from Recording to Playback under Sound, there is some times a lag which hasn't been there before. And worse: The mic works for like 3-15 seconds and then turns off without any error message, code, sound or anything. I can then disable the mic (which takes a weird long time compared to other devices - about 2-3 seconds) and then enable it again, only to find that the same thing happens again. 3-15 seconds and it's off. What should I do?

    Hello Piano Tipping! Great video :)) But unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem. I wanted to ask if you've encountered the issue that I'm struggling with right now - the headphone output from the Yeti monitors audio from the mic only on the left channel, but it's definitely not a hardware issue, cause all the other audio from my pc comes (through the very same headphone output) in stereo. Do you know what could be the reason? Cheers!

    My microphone shows up as USB Advanced Audio Device. The mute button stopped glowing overnight and now when you try to record with it it makes a small pop noise (as if you tapped on the microphone) and then makes no noise at all. Could you help?

      I'm not sure what would cause that. Did you try a new cable, or plugging it into a different USB port? Do you have another computer you could plug it into to make sure the mic itself does not have a problem?

      Piano Tipping I tried a different cable, a different port, and a different computer

      +HolySpitball If you get the same symptoms after those tests, it sounds like a hardware problem. The USB jacks on these are prone to failure. Inspect it carefully with a magnifying glass and make sure you don't have a bent or snapped off pin. See if the jack seems loose at all. You may need to repair the jack. I have another video on my channel for that. It's not for the faint of heart, and kinda tricky. If you are good at soldering it's possible. You may want to check with Blue support first.

    how do i f ix this: So i plug in my yeti. (Yes ive tried different cables made sure the right reocrding/playback devices were set) (yeti and yeti)(for monitoring and recording) it now detected it as an advanced recordign device. it wont let me monitor the audio? but i can still listen to things if i have my headphones plugged in the jack. ive had my yeti for around a year and ive never had this problem. is my mic busted? ive tried everything/ UPDATE: (like 2 mins later) i did the levels thing cuz im stupied and was too impatient to watch the whole video. thanks so much

    the reason why your microphone is detected like that is because it is broken, it is a known issue and blue will replace your microphone, it is a very annoying thing that they acknowledge but still keep selling them... It happened to mine too, it stopped been detected as blue yeti and started to be detected as advance audio device, once this happens you have to make all the things this video tells you to do, configure EVERYTHING manually because the computer cannot tell anymore what did you plug in and will not understand how to configure all this automatically, so this video is VERY helpful.
    Your microphone is broken, but it can be restored to fully working if you know how to set all these things manually, it is very annoying but you won't need to return it to guaranty if you live in a country were sending the microphone can cost you a lot...
    OH BY THE WAY...NEVER unplug the microphone, every time you do that it will lose ALL configurations...this does not happen if the microphone is working correctly and detected as Blue Yeti right away.

    I believe if the device is re-installed via unplugging or forced uninstall it will revert this setting back. So occasionally my mic will completely cut out or go robotic and I have to change USB ports, the side-affect of that is this issue which you've helped me identify, thanks!

    About the microphone being too loud with the Windows mic volume turned all the way up; I think you forgot to turn down the gain on the mic. I have mine set to 1/4 and it works fine, with the Windows mic volume set at 100%.

      +The Priest of UA-cam That's not the case. I show the knob settings at 7:57. While I did have it at around 10 o'clock, I tried different gain settings. Lowering the gain on the mic did not fix the problem for me. Lowering the volume in Windows did. It was distorted and too loud for me even with the gain set low.

      Piano Tipping Come to think of it, I have distortion/loudness issues with Morphvox Pro and Manycam in Windows 10. I did some research and apparently there's loads of people who have had microphone distortion since upgrading/clean installing Windows 10.
