He puts so much detail into just turning the mic around
That's how you know he's professional and serious lol
He’s amazing.
I appreciate your no-bullshit review.
When shopping for audio products, I keep running into people who just don't get to the relevant information, joke around too much, or unbox it.
Thank you!
OMG yes. I used to watch unboxing videos when I first got on UA-cam. What a waste of time. They are so pointless. Like who gives AF...get to it already 😂
He was singing literally. “No bullshit” my arse .
Hi there, awesome video. I have a few problems with background noise with the blue yeti original when I do ASMR. The environment is really quiet but I keep getting lots of white noise with the gain up. Would that be different with the yeti pro? Thank you!
when the thumbnail is better than the three mics
Z Alves they are entry level mic don’t expect much
@@Brendan0520 what's a good one?
@@Serkong anything but a yeti or a cheap Chinese mic
@@gex5541 whats wrong with the yeti?
@@mladyswagalot nothing, audiophiles, it's a great mic tbh. Most people won't even notice tbh
I have been using two Rode NT1 mics for my ASMR setup but I picked up a Yeti Pro to plug into my interface to see how it might mix with my setup. So far I can't get the noise floor low enough to make the audio usable. I don't know if it is something I am doing wrong so I came here for answers. Instead, I feel personally attacked, lol. All good though, I get it.
When I plug the yeti mic into a USB on my laptop the background noise is quiet. When I use XLR cable there is too much noise coming through. I cut the phantom power to one of the channels so the splitter isn't getting double phantom power, and that seems to help but there is still a lot of static. I know this video is old but was wondering if you might have any thoughts? Should I just send it back?
This is the best and most thorough review that I've found so far. Thanks!
I use a Yeti for podcasting in a room without much soundproofing. I have the gain turned almost totally down and got the damn thing off the table and on a mic stand. Every problem is pretty much solved.
Are you saving g for a better mic
yeah and for recording for youtube videos and streams, just turning up the volume in recording software and raising the gain on the microphone itself will make the audio much better sounding.
Which yeti?
By far the best mic review I've seen after spamming them for a day straight.
I like that you popped in and said that those other 2 mics not being tested were better suited, though I think everything did sound fantastic.
The guitar jamming was my favorite test, and was just pleasant to hear in the first place.
This is one of the best vids I saw on choosing which mic to pick.... It helped me a lot!! Thank you!! ♥
I like the stereo mode to shout into the ears of whoever I'm speaking to, simultaneously surprising them and scaring the shit out of them.
Wonderful review! I have watched several review videos over Blue microphones but you definitely have been the best. Super knowledgeable, funny, detailed and thorough. Just sold me on the original. Thank you for this review!
I have the blue yeti black edition and I love it. The fact that there is so much to chose from with one mic, and you can just plug it straight in your computer / phone (if you have a dongle) is just incredible. I would definitely recommend the blue yeti to any beginners just starting youtube or streaming.
really appreciate the way you tested each mic and the dynamic mic suggestions
Thank you so much for the music making on these microphones!! This is actual what I was looking for being a singer!!
Great video sir. I love how professional and detailed the review was
Your videos are always very entertaining and the reviews are super thorough, love your channel!
Thank you for this video, it was greatly appreciated and an eye opener about the keyboard but more specifically the sounds from the sides when you were turning them around. I was considering getting the original and putting it between my wife and i so we could share the microphone while in an active voice chat with other people. So again, thank you for that full 360 demo, that really helped out.
Thorough review! Appreciate all the tests you did
I bought a Blue Yeti 2 days ago and my Macbook doesn't recognize it, because the 2 USB Ports are 3.0 and the microphone only works with 2.0... If I buy a cable microusb-usb 3.0 will it work? If not, could you please recommend me a good microphone for youtube videos (I will record sometimes ASMR and I will never stream). Thanks a lot!
I personally like the Nano, it's sleek design and small build really grabs my attention.
Lucky for me getting the nano for almost 100 outside the US , and is cooler that people giving a review about them 🎵👌
Well done. Links to the dynamic mics you recommended would be useful, too.
I know this video is a year old, but thank you for being so thorough in your comparison. Pretty much everyone else just talks into it and that’s it. Hearing various applications is much more useful.
You're very welcome. Really happy to hear that it helped out.
I'm impressed with the Nano, do you think it's worth upgrading from the Snowball?

Not when you can get the better sounding OG Yeti for the same price.
just buy a cheap AT2020 and a good audio interface. will sound way better.
@@Up_All_Night it is 30 cheaper
@@dowilson And it goes on sale for as low as $79. If it's not on sale for about the same price as the Nano now, it will be soon.
What an excellent review! This is what mic reviews should be!
this was so helpful!
I have a short budget and choosing the ideal mic for me has been a nightmare until this video.
Thx so much :)
Great review. I believe you were right on point and answered my questions. I don't think it's the best type of mic for gaming either...especially when people have loud external noises. Great for music. And you're a great musician/singer. Keep it up.
Thank you so much for your comparison. Pretty much the only video like this worth watching. This was so helpful!
Thank you so much for such a direct and coherent review!! Awesomesauce.
Comprehensive, clear, and concise. Perfect review.
Thanks for the effort on this one. Great editing / jump cuts.
this video is what I was searching...just perfect
hope ya doing good, love how informative and thorough your videos are as usual,
Thank you for telling about the environment part of using these mics. Really helpful.
I just got a blue yeti the other day cause I know it’s been a staple in the yt industry for years and I also love that I found this channel in an audiophile
Thank You! I’ll look into the USB Dynamic Mic.
Love your vids bro definitely my go to for mic reviews 🤘🤘🤘
tell me why i cant tell the difference between the 3 mics all together, i'll just get a Blue Yeti Nano lol
Yeah if you can't tell a difference, no reason to spend a bunch of money,.
haha i thought same there is not much difference to us ordinary guys, i guess musicians are more sensitive, just wondering if nano is good enough for narrator
just picked up the original yeti for $15, quite impressed for the price :P
@@bluevaboh4449 15$???? No waaaay
Kim Iglesias pretty sure he meant 150
thank you, the review was really clear and actually showed all my possible uses. I think I will be buying that other mic, I appreciate it. Actually talked me out of these so I am gonna get the ATR 2100 usb you suggested!
Awesome video bro. I never see a video with this detail level. Congrats bro. Really amazing of this content!
Very detailed - Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
My pleasure. Thank you for checking it out.
Hi there! What is the microphone you are using in the intro, please? I like it best!! I need one that will not show up in my video recording, but sounds warm and resonant, close and intimate. I'd love it to be simple... I'm recording into my MacBookPro. In my home without much background noise, but it's definitely not a sound studio. I would love your recommendation; hope you see this and might have a suggestion!!
I love the review You did for Behringer xm8500 and bought it from Amazon for myself, along with a scissor stand and other stuff, after my "gaming headset" broke and I was frustrated to find something that would not cost $100+ and break in two years at the same time. Today I have completely forgotten about the time when I had to suffer because other people would would complain that they hear metallic-hissing-noise and all other issues when You are using devices that are sold as "gaming" or "desktop" solutions. At some point a band was short of microphone for the performance I have no idea what it was, and I offered them to take mine as a joke. They took it and said it was perfect to record his growl and interview. Thank You for Your channel, it is entertaining and actually useful to make a proper shopping choices :) I remember I was actually looking in to buying Blue Yeti Pro (because it has xlr, etc) but I had a chance to test a Razer Seiren X and I noticed how good it is in picking up all the noise in the room and all the acoustic details of my room and I was 100% sure from that moment that this type of microphone will not do me good. I figured out that if I choose to go with expensive, high quality microphone, I will need to pay for additional sound filtering/editing hardware and to soundproof my room and risk getting actually worse quality sound in the end, in comparison with, if I just buy that cheap Behringer XM8500. I am using it with a professional USB sound card with XLR input though.
Thank you for being thorough and diverse in your tests. That's all I came here for, but you did a great job at it that I thought it was worth the like and time to write this.
That means a lot. Really. Thank you mate.
Great summary! Fast, to the point. Thank you!
Hella thorough review man! You hit all the aspects!
Best audio person bar none your videos are the only ones I watch for audio advice
Everything that I could have expected very good
You're awesome dude, thanks for this!

also good job on the vid very informative
Though I'm late here, they are perfectly loud, there are no worries ther.
Thanks, your efforts are great and you have the best mics channel on youtube. 👍

i was looking for such video and wow amaizing review.. thank you and i really love how you singing , wow wo wow:D
your review is just the best! concise and entertaining. love you!
This was extremely thorough!
Well made video! Straight to the point and very well explained
the best review, was looking for this comparison. you helped me choose the right one for me, usage in music. i'm also using your link for purchasing! thanks!
Excellent review. Thank you so much
Thanks for doing this video so well, now I think I’ll look into those mics you mentioned at the end
Thank you for a nice and concise review of these three. I totally agree with your choice. Essentially the Pro trio costs about twice as much for just offering better bit depth and higher sample rate roof. However, most users would never need anything beyond 48 kHz, which is a useful SR for video content. In terms of bit depth, yea, it would be nice to get 24 bit sound, but not for this price tag. Additionally, with your voice tests Original and Pro versions sounds almost identical to me, while I noticed a better sounds from Pro when you played the acoustic guitar. Considering, most people, including myself are using Yeti for voice-related recordings, and most of the time for spoken word, this little advantage in terms of sound quality will be never heard.
Excellent thumbnail!
Excellent comparison video sir! Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you. Such a great comparison!
THIS is a real review, from a professional. Thank you.
Hi Bandrew! Someone just asked a question about the Blue Yeti and I sent her to watch this video 🤓 I use the ATR2100 and the Samson Q2U so for now I am good to go until I invest in a mixer.
Btw - do you have a video that talks about good mic techniques (for UA-camrs)?
Thanks!!
This was very helpful. Thanks!
straight to the point and I agree 100 percent
Awesome Review!!! Answered all my questions!!
Woah great video! Subbed :)
Great review, thanks!
That was great. I would like to know how the mic you recommended sounds.
Thank you for this awesome review!
Thanks for the reviews thumbs up 👍👍👍
Fkn excellent comparison dude
Great video! I agree with your conclusion 100%
This is a fantastic review, thanks very much!
great video, thank you. I just started as UA-camr and learning about Audio!
I love how much detail you put into your videos!!! I bought the nano for streaming video games because I found it used for 50 dollars on amazon and couldn't pass up the opportunity for it haha! it's genuinely a really great mic and I'm already so thrilled about it!! I figured it'd be good for streaming on twitch because I stream in my quiet bedroom in my quiet apartment, and it's a pretty high quality mic!
Thanks for the awesome review!! It's what got me interested in the blue yetis! I KNOW you said it's not recommended for video games streaming, but when I saw this ordinarily 100 dollar mic for 50, I had to go for it haha! I was using the samson go mic for years and it was just not doing enough! Thank you for the review :D
Are you like one of those weirdos who make/listen to Asmr?
Nice review! Thanks!
Were you using the XLR hook ups for the Blue Yeti Pro? Was it set up through a preamp, interface, and soundcard?
You are awesome! Thanks for all you do!
You have definitely saved me a lot of money. I could not make up my mind on whether to purchase the yeti or yeti pro. I already have a usb microphone which is just awesome. Thank you!
Reallllly helpful, thanks a lot!
Great review and rationale for their use cases.
The best review i have see
thank you so much for sharing, it's really helpful!! save me a lot of money!!
Woah, there are time splits! That's amazing! I've never seen that before
Do you know if that's a new feature? Looked at other video's and couldn't find them with these timestamps or how to set them this way. Maybe it's in beta? It's so useful :D.
I wanted to leave a comment, but also noticed you dilike asmr so now I'm a bit uncomfotable but also it was helpful so here we are! Thank you for such a detailed review!
I noticed that too. So unprofessional for doing that.
Thank You! I’ll probably look into the USB Dynamic Mic, based on your recommendation :)
Awesome! The Q2u is apparently on sale for $39.99 on B&H if you wanna pick that thing. It's crazy.
Great thorough review! You are the best audio reviewer that I have found. I was in the market for a new microphone and was deciding between Audio-Technica ATR2000x and Blue Yetti. I ended up going for ATR2000x because that is what suits my needs the most (zoom calls)
That's incredibly kind of you to say. Thanks for watching, and I'm very glad you fiound the mic that fits your needs. Happy recording.
Ill be using this bad boy!
Went with the original! Thanks man
Great! Video thank you so much for your effort!
Great demo
Thank you ! Very informative!!
Thank you so much I had no idea if you rotated the yeti it made it worse I’ve been stuck for months omf
I appreciate this , I laughed through some of it....which was a good thing thanks for the help
I use the Yeti Pro for recording choirs using it's stereo pickup pattern. The only criticisms I've gotten from people who have heard my recordings with this mic is that they sound too good and show up the flaws in some of the choirs performances. I've also used the original USB Yeti which is what convinced me to buy a pair of the Yeti Pro microphones. The original Yeti is now in a friends private voiceover studio. Thanks for the comparative review.
Lol they all sound the same
The nano is more noticibly lesser quality than the other two
@@MelodicalMedia No it's not
