We went back to New York! My stagey fiancé, Aeron James and I hopped on a plane back to New York for some of the busiest weeks of the Broadway season.
Check out what happened, with inside sneak peaks at the theatres we visited, some extra performances and plenty of cocktails and fantastic food!
Stay tuned for the final instalment next weekend and make sure you're subscribed with the notifications turned on so you don't miss it!

13:27 "THAT That is the subway exit we were supposed to take!" As a New Yorker, I feel this SO much
I recently started a new job in central London and I have yet to figure out the best exit at my final station, it's a different one each time so I feel this :'D
Your NY Vlogs are always my favorites. I've learned about restaurants & events that even I as a native NYer were unaware of. Love your work, keep it up! (And keep coming to NYC as often as possible!)
P.S. You were great on the pink carpet! Such clever ways to engage the interviewees. You're a natural at this.
How did I not see you when you were at Suffs? I guess I was too busy behind the bar working. Glad to make a cameo in your vlog. Haha.
Feel the same way you do about Shucked. Only saw it twice but would have loved to catch it a few more times. Caught the Tony-worthy comment on Ruthie Ann's performance that harkened back to your Tony announcement show. She really is great.
I know how much you like New York food, and I was not sure if you and Aeron had been to this place before. It's called Jacob's Pickles. I kid you not, they have the BEST Chicken and Biscuits! Absolutely incredible. I recommend that the next time you come here!
Wait, Jack or Jacob’s? If it’s Jacob’s I 245% agree!
@@Javachacin Yeah, I thought it was Jacks for some reason lol!
Now I’m taking your restaurant recommendations in addition to your theater recommendations! 😂 Had dinner at iPizza last night & loved it. I’ve walked by that place countless times & never tried it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Cold lobster roll, the nerve. Only way is hot butter. Lol
Agree with you on the specialty drinks! Every show should have one, bonus points if it’s unique to the show!
I finished the first part just before coming to NYC with my hubs and we kept finding ourselves following in your footsteps and we were cracking up.
Oh I love that! I hope you both had the best time!
We didn't get to see as much as we wanted to on this trip but we found a few new places to eat for when we come back. Your trips are always a few weeks before or after our trips so it's like a theatre geek travel guide for us 😂
The triangular flag things are called pennants, and American for the baby shirt is "onesie".
In the UK they're romper suits 🙂
Mickey Jo and Aeron, thank you so much for posting your reviews and vlogs. As a fellow theatre nerd, these vids give me life, and they've been very helpful in helping my husband and I plan our upcoming NY trip for my 40th. We currently have tickets for Sunset Blvd (2nd preview!!!) and Cabaret, but we haven't purchased tickets to anything else yet since--while this season has certainly been busy--there haven't been any shows that stand out. Your review of Suffs has changed our opinion on that one, for sure. Would love to chat with you about Here Lies Love sometime. Saw that last summer and was blown away!
Aeron should be able to order a pin on the Gatsby's show website!😊
I sat in the first row center mezzanine at the Goodman for TOMMY and paid the grand total (regular price) of 75.00. That was a bargain!
It was funny. I just saw Ben Cameron as our host for our Atlantis Cancun vacation so I spoke to him quite a bit. It was nice to see him host the free concert.
The cheesecake being carried like a clutch :'))))))
I really wanted to watch FIVES but just couldn't make it work. I am seeing Gatsby in Boston and The Great Gatsby the first week of July. I wanted to see them together.
@mickeyjotheatre, thank you for filming this. I love New York and Theatre. I like your details and opinions. Thanks for keeping us informed. How wonderful that y'all got the opportunity to see so many shows and and the delicious tasty delights. I have seen some of the best Broadway musicals ever. I am quite the theatre critic too, that's why I enjoy your channel.........I like forward to more. Thumbs up!
OMG, hey. I LOVED your interviews!! Great job on the pink carpet!
I described The Who’s Tommy to my friends as the opening number of the second act of the Back to the Future musical, but for +2 hours.
We saw fives as well, got a kick out of it, saw water for elephants too, I don’t know how I felt about it, loved loved loved Suffs. I saw my three over the course of a couple of weeks, not all in one day! Hats off to u both!
I LOVE the blue pants and Sparkle Black shirt. I need a similar outfit! I wear a 2x in shirts, so tricky in the US to find a sparkily shirt that is my size and would look on my pudgey body shape.
You totally held your own on the red carpet situation, you seemed relaxed and looked very cute.
A comparison video between Broadway and West End would be interesting. Different starting times, when shows are usually closed...😃
you know, I wonder if the heart of rock & roll is still beating. I wish someone could confirm that for me...
love watching these videos!! looks like you had an amazing time!
Jongro Rice Hotdog on 32nd at least lets you see what you're buying on the order kiosk and is in the same building as a nice bubble tea place. Also quite close to Herald Square, so it ended up being my dinner before heading toward Titanique last time.
Thanks for sharing your adventures. Also thanks for the food tips.
Fun questions on the pink carpet!
The Strand Bookstore is where one of the opening sequences of the movie Tick, tick… Boom! was filmed. Such a cool NYC location.
Have seen Five, Suffs, and Lempicka. Seeing Tommy soon. Looking forward to hearing more of your reviews from New York.
💙 I heard it's still beating.
I’m so happy you went to the melt shop! I love that place(it’s my go to show food place)
We LOVE it! A go-to on all of our trips 😁
Thank you!
Heart still beating 🤣 love the vlogs ..
Ugh I wish I had a fiancé to see 700 Broadway shows with me
yayyyyyyyy I love these feature film vlogs :)
I like how that guy turns up in a suit jacket but no shirt. That's confidence in how good you look. Also nice to hesr New York needs a Greggs.
I enjoyed the Museum of Broadway for a non show activity
The triangular Flag/banner things (Suffs) are called pennants here in US. :)
Not you blessing us with almost 2 hours of content, heck yeah!
That is the same Union Square where Goldman spoke, but she wasn't outside:
It was winter in New York
As the snow began to fall
And the workmen's hall had not a seat to spare
When a young man ducked inside
Just to warm himself, was all
The night that Goldman spoke at Union Square
In the meantime
.going to see new Dave Malloy at Signature.
"3 Houses"...heard anything ?
My friend Kate very much enjoyed - hope you do also!
Will you be reviewing The Great Gatsby? I'm so interested in your thoughts and if you think it'll be coming to the UK!
I will indeed, but not for a little while yet, stay tuned!
@@MickeyJoTheatre Ah, brilliant!
Is it me or does the curtain call song for Suffs sounds similar to "My Shot"?
Excellent video tour. I wish you'd reach out because my pal Adam Jacobs would love to have met you and chat. I directed him just before Covid hit in his film debut, "Last Call in the Dog House".
How were the seats at gatsby. I am sitting in that same seat when I go
Did anyone sing 'Somewhere that's Green' at that concert? Missed opportunity if not
I believe those triangular banners are called pennants.
Is the water for elephants poster a big size
Did I miss your review of the Tveit/Foster Sweeney Todd?
You didn't! I just have to prioritise the shows I was invited to review ahead of the tickets I bought!
Given the ticket prices it just be a hard time for people to see all of these openings in a few week period.
What did you name your stuffed elephant
🐘
Having trouble with sound..me or you?
Did the problem fix itself? If not let me know which part!
