into the void is a heavy one studio version ofc
Thanks for the recommendation!
Just a rocking song. A hidden classic.
Geezer Butler, bassist and lyricist with Black Sabbath is quoted as saying it was inspired by a confrontation with a gang of skinheads in the 70’s who wore Doc Martens boots
Yes, that's the same story I've heard all my life.
Makes sense. Had left England behind in 1964, age 7.
Heard Sabbath from my friend and neighbour in the early 70s. Great stuff, great band, songs!
🤟🏼😊🎶❤️🍁✨️🧙🏽♂️🪄🧌💩🦤🤡🤡
These guys defined this genre, whatever you want to call it. 😊
One of my favorites ❤
I grew up with these guys. Nobody sounded like them back then, and 50+ years later, still nobody sounds like them (though they have influenced countless bands).
The way I always took the song Ozzy says " fairest wear boots dancing with a dwarf " then later " I went to the doctor to see what he could give me, he said son, son you went to far, cause trippin' and smokin' is all that you do--- yea!!!!. So basically Ozzy's hallucinating from drugs. " Faires wear boots you gotta believe me" Like man I'm really seeing this stuff. If you were around in the 60's and 70's this made a lot of sense. There was a lot of trippin and smokin.
You may have noticed some rubber tips on Tony Iommi's fingertips on his fingering hand. That was because on his last day working in a sheet metal shop he had an accident, and trimmed off the tips of those fingers. Then he started his professional music career, and the rubber tips allowed him to play better. He also had to change the way he tuned his Guitar, and it helped create the "Black Sabbath Sound".
On his last day 😯.
He definitely kills it on the guitar!
For another side of Sabbath you need to check out Solitude and Planet Caravan 😅
Thanks for the recommendation!
nib is another good one aswell
Thanks for another great reaction. I'm glad to see you like it. It's great see people reacting this old stuff.
Enjoying this journey ! Thanks for watching!
That’s very rare footage. Yes they are the beginning of it all. 😊
No, it's not!! lol It's simply upscaled from the original. If it is on UA-cam IT IS NOT RARE!! lol
Back in the day when there were Audio/Video stores, and I worked in one, I used to use a different version of "Faeries Wear Boots" as a demo song, when someone wanted to hear something loud or aggressive. Sold a few receivers and sets of speakers with it, so thanks Geezer, Tony, Bill and Ozzy.
You do know this was filmed in Brussels and appeared on Belgium TV don't you? Pop Shop was a classic music show over there (on RTBF). Lots of great bands performed on it.
I did not know! On the other video below it said Paris.
But RTBF is a Belgian network indeed. French speaking network.
I am from the Dutch/Flemish speaking part.
Tony Iommy The riff master !!
I have Tony and Angus Young at the RIFF master top
They defined this stuff.
🤟🏼😊🎶💙🧙🏽♂️🪄🧌💩🦤🤡
In Ozzy's Autobiography he said he and the band were jumped by SKINHEADS (the Fairies) after a show. Ozzy picked up a hammer or a pipe or a bumper jack and went Viking on the skinheads and they ran off bleeding bad. Good book so is Tony's autobiography also!
Great line-up today! Quality badass and hippy both! ☺️
Lots of great requests. Good stuff 😃
There's a lot to be said about how great and unique Sabbath were. But one thing they don't get a lot credit for: Bill and Geezer could swing & groove like mad. Killer rhythm section.
He’s not being derogatory
Into the void and hand of doom are both heavy/dark with very captivating stories
Into The Void is good.
Thanks for the recommendation.
The Wizard 2012 "rehearsal" video shows Ozzy killn the harmonica!
Used to play this album non stop when it came out 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You got the meaning 👌🏻 From what I heard, he was referring to a bunch of skinheads
After the accident that Tony had, a friend played him a record by Django Reinhardt. He only had 3 fingers on his fretting hand. Amazing guitarist. So Tony got his mojo back.
Its amazing what humans can do. He definitely got his mojo back! 😃
One mike was for the concert and the other was for the video.
Ooooh! Thanks for letting me know. Makes sense 😃
@@SaeedReacts.I didn’t know either.
2 mics one is for recording vocals
Thanks for letting me know! Much appreciated.
@@SaeedReacts. That's probably correct. A few likely scenarios:
One went to the PA, one went to a recording rig for sound or video if there wasn't a splitter available.
One is out of phase with the other to reduce crowd/stage noise and for feedback suppression.
Both were processed differently for artistic reasons.
Two mikes for recording purposes
Thanks for letting me know about that!
PARIS 1970 WAR PIGS is also kinda awesome
Hear great things about that one.
FYI With two mikes the sound mixing board operator can pan the vocals to the left and right fields to create a fuller sound, as opposed to one mike that is in the center of the mix. You can't really hear it here but if you had a set of headphones patched into the board, at the time, you would definitely hear the difference. Ronnie Van Zant (Lynyrd Skynyrd) used to do the same when playing live a few years later.
Thanks so much for explaining a bit about that! Truly learning a lot!
Re Ozzie's voice, consider what he had to be heard through! And thanks for doing a reaction to this particular track, always a fave of mine.
Great point!
Thanks for watching. Later today i have a reaction to their song "Thrill of it All" coming to the channel.
One mic would be for the PA for the live sound and one would be recording the audio.
Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated!
I always pictured pixies with hob nailed boots but then it was up to you how you pictured your 'fairies' Everything was up to interpretation back then what ever your brain allowed !
They write it and our imagination fills it in. Love that
The two mics is probably left and right channels
Thanks for letting me know.
as I tell me friends....... "if they'd of put music behind/with Ozzy talking on the reality show, and let him sing his words, it woulda been much better". the man can sing and think coherently, but just speaking is a struggle for him. just sayin'. rock on OZZY!
Hey Saeed. You Gotta do some tracks off the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album. Start with the title track. Awesome Ozzy kills it.
Hey Colin! Thanks for the recommendation. Hope i can check out some songs of different albums. Today a reaction to "Thrill of it all" will be posted.
Did you say a Sci-Fi song? Rush. 2112. If you haven't, do.
I reacted to it. I believe it was my second Rush reaction.
They just don't make bands like this anymore.
1970.....44 years....dude must of failed math !!!
Im a high school dropout.
But i am pretty good at math, but with that mistake you probably wont believe me 🤣
@@SaeedReacts. lmao....good one dude !!!
Tough dudes?? WTF??? Why would you think that??? No, Faries as in magical!! He's seeing it because he is HIGH!!! Have you figured out that all Sabbath is, is a very hard Jazz band? That's what they are.
I thought it was a double meaning. Tough dudes wearing boots which he refers to as fairies and seeing fairies because he is high.
@@SaeedReacts. They are tough dudes.
