Dionne Warwick has had a huge career spanning almost 6 decades. She had so many hits. Burt Bacharach wrote most of her best songs. "Don't Make Me Over", "Make It Easy On Yourself", "Anyone Who Had A Heart", "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?", "You're My World", "Message to Michael", "Alfie", "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself", "Walk On By", "(Theme from) Valley Of The Dolls", "(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me", "This Girl's In Love With You", "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" etc.

Dionne was the second-most charted female vocalist (after Aretha) during the second half of the 20th century (1955-1999). She is also one of the most-charted vocalists of all time, with 56 of her singles making the Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998 (12 of them Top Ten), and 80 singles in total - either solo or collaboratively - making the Hot 100, R&B, or adult contemporary charts.
Her family is musical royalty: she and her sister Dee Dee were nieces to Cissy Houston and cousins to Whitney Houston and opera star Leontyne Price.

I love Dionne Warwick. You saw her in USA for Africa "We are the world". She made the duet with Willie Nelson, that is one of my favourites parts of that awesome song. I love Dionne's voice, young and older. She's first cousin of Whitney Houston, but a bit older. Their mothers were sisters. Every song by her is amazing but, please react to: "Heartbreaker".

Thanks for bringing back this great love song; such a catchy tune. Dionne was a big star in the 60s she had a string of hits all worthy of a reaction such as "Walk On By", "I'll Never Fall in Love Again", "Do You Know the Way to San Jose", and "Anyone Who Had A Heart". "Walk On By" is exquisitely sung and unforgettable.

She and Burt Bacharach were an unstoppable force. I’ve always felt, even with all her success in the 60’s and 70’s, that Dionne is criminally underrated. Sometime in the last decade Dionne invited Snoop Dog and several other rappers to her home. They didn't know her but of course if Dionne Warwick asks you over you go! When they got there she gave them a lecture about how they treated women in their music. Snoop in particular credits that meeting with getting him to change the tenor of his raps.

I was skeptical at first but 100% this is truly Live. Some of these old shows you couldn't see a mic so it's deceiving to the eye. But there were a couple of slight voice pitches that weren't identical, and she actually voiced the beat of the trumpet near the end, which isn't in the studio version. She basically nailed it, spectacularly. Looking back now, so many artists back then were shockingly near-perfect Live performers.

The combination of Bacharach/David and Warwick is a favorite of mine since the 1970's. I actually got to see Bacharach/Warwick in concert together at the Greek Theater in L.A. in the 1990's. It was interesting, the beautiful Warwick singing, but what distracted me was Bacharach's movements while he played the piano. Warwick is credited for a lot of songs from Bacharach, but there are others that sang his tunes. Me and my husband's special song we first danced to be a Bacharach/Bayer-Sager (then husband and wife) tune; That's What Friends Are For. It combined Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder. Today, I get teary-eyed when I hear that song since my husband passed away in 2020 of Covid. I hope you do more hits from Bacharach. My favorites are, Anyone Who Have a Heart, A House Is Not a Home, Alfie, The Windows of the World, The Look of Love, One Less Bell to Answer and many, many more. I am sure there are people that would be amazed all the songs connected to Bacharach from movies and Broadway.

Dioone Warwick not only has an amazing voice, she is a trained musician who can play piano and sight read music. Many songs, like this one, were written for her to sing because she could sing songs few could. This live version was purposefully faster to accommodate the TV segment timing. Only Aretha Franklin has more charted hits than Dionne, who also had a career resurgence in late 70s/early 80s when Isaac Hayes and Barry Gibb wrote songs for her. She was first Black artist to win Grammy in the pop category and first to win both pop and R&B Grammys in same year decades later. Her famous cousin, Whitney Houston, picked up so much of her style from her older cousin.
