    I started meditating about 6 months ago because I was experiencing a lot of anxiety after an accident. I by no means great at it but I have noticed a lot less anxiety and when I do have some anxiety it’s very mild and manageable. I’ve come to the realization that meditation doesn’t have to be perfect, thoughts are going to pop up and you’re going to get distracted at times but it’s the consistency that’s going to make the difference. You keep doing it even if you don’t see a huge difference and even if you mess up, it’s the consistency that matters. It’s also very relaxing so at least you’ll give yourself that time to yourself. Deep breathing and accepting that anxiety is normal part of being a human being goes a long way, in other words don’t fight anxiety and don’t expect to find a cure. I do a meditation in the mornings and before bedtime and I also include some gratitude and manifestation as soon as I finish my meditation. My meditation are anywhere from 10-25 minutes.

      @@VirtualRealityNation Hi, thanks for talking the time to reply!
      So for me it's hard to imagine meditation without disengaging from the world around me. I want watched your video and imagined being too caught up with the fractals around me to be alone with myself that's why I asked.
      Have you meditated without VR and if so how would you compare the two?
      Of course, there is no right way to meditate and I wish you happiness and peace from however you choose to practice.
      I'm very actively thinking about buying an oculus at this minute.

    • @VirtualRealityNation
      @VirtualRealityNation  2 роки тому

      @@caveben
      Well let me put it like this:
      The visual effects and the fly through helped to ease in and slowly let go of all the thoughts. Then when the breathing starts and the fractals are in rhythm with your breathing you completely forget everything else, it does not feel distracting at all!
      Oh yes, I have been meditating now for a bunch of years even without VR. When comparing it, I think the VR solution can help people that otherwise have problems to focus on their breathing. Therefore I think this could become a common way for meditation in the future.
      Regarding buying an oculus, the VR space is evolving and there are already a bunch of apps that really are useful and a lot of fun for the Oculus and it will only grow. If you have any other questions regarding the Oculus, feel free to reach out :)
      And happy new year! :)

    Interesting. I’m happy the app is helpful but question the use of an interface in order to “meditate” rather than using just the mind. To be fair I guess it is no different to spoken or guided meditations which I have benefited from myself previously. The use of a kaleidoscopic visual feature to assist in focusing the mind is a interesting.
    In short whatever helps to reduce stress and promote mental wellbeing should be at least considered so long as it does not cause harm to others.
    How long are the sessions and is any preparation required? I’m guessing they are around 20 minutes each?

    • @VirtualRealityNation
      @VirtualRealityNation  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Barmy !:)
      Thank you for the feedback, interesting take!
      Fair point, I also think that in general the only really needed part here is your own mind. But the visual aspect feels like a bridge that supports your mind, it doesn't distract or anything, so it works better than I initially expected.
      Do you have an Ouclus? You should give it a shot.
      There is no prep needed, sessions are in different lengths and styles, so you can pick.
      Let me know if you managed to try it out somewhere :)

      @@VirtualRealityNation picked up Meta Quest 2 recently. I’ve not tried any meditation apps yet but that could change. My experience of meditation comes from studying buddhist philosophy informally and attending meditation classes and retreats. It certainly helped me through a very challenging time but ironically as my mind began to heal my reason to continue meditating began to diminish. How utterly foolish of me, clearly a serious lack of wisdom on my part.
      These days I spend hours in contemplation rather than making time for formal meditation sessions, but occasionally my contemplations bear fruit so all is not lost.

      Well visual sensory stimulation like this helps your brain sequence the environment without the VR so your basic meditation will be completely coherent to what you want they should let you buy your own house so you can manifest the environment quicker also since it’s less visual effort more emphasis should be put on the feeling good part which is the most important the better your body feels the more you connect to the subconscious mind

      There are real life videos on UA-cam in 360 degrees. But my experience with this is all of the apps have a game like feel to them. I was thinking about this and I think it’s to help the mind to distinguish between reality and VR. I’m not sure what the long term impact on the brain would be if it was ultra real, but I think it may have the same effect as porn. They say that over use of porn ruins real life sexual experiences…. I don’t know but food for thought 😊

      Hi Anurag :) Thank you for the comment
      I understand what you are saying. I guess it depends on what you are trying to achieve through meditation? Visualise and imagine your own thoughts? Here this app would not help.
      But I think like this: If you want to take a meditation session to let go of all of the thoughts, this app can definitely help to do so through the breath work.
      Of course not a replacement, more like an add-on :)
      Best wishes to you :)
