Great video, LMBC all the way. We don’t have supernatural in the UK, hopefully the upcoming Funfitland will fill that void. Second for me is Pistol Whip, with the right modifiers applied makes PW an awesome , fun workout 😅
Pistol Whip is so solid! They just don't have a specific fitness modality, which is why I didn't include it on this list. And yes, FunFit Land can be a great option for Supernatural! Another one you can check out is SolarBlack - it uses very similar mechanics, and is free on Steam, Quest AppLab and Pico: sidequestvr.com/app/5274/solarblack
There really aren't any good apps for that at the moment. The only options are apps that offer a 3650 degree video of a regular Yoga class (or you can look them up on UA-cam in the headset). great video!!! same top 3 here. supernatural for the music they use, fit xr for the different kinds of workout and les mills for the one time fee and the muscle pain it gives me!!!
lol that's a PERFECT way to break it down 😂 The music is SO good in Supernatural - I was sad I had to take it all out for the video because of licensing things :/
@@VikingPrincessVR Great video and I appreciate your point of view on each app and why one is better/worse for your preferences. I go between beat saber and Supernatural for my workout as I can't imagine not having music you can grove to while sweating your butt off.
@@Occy30 Music is so important! So having those two apps as your preference makes a ton of sense :) I actually did a 1-week Supernatural workout "challenge" and I've been working on the video - but a few other sponsored deadlines this week (I got 1 more to go!) made me delay it. I can't wait to hare it with you next week !
I recently got my Quest3 and bought Les milles dance as my first game purchase. It is difficult to copy the teachers movements but i don't care because its so much fun. My room is very small but still i can have the full enjoyment after a tiring day. Thank you for all the recomendations.
I was hoping for a specific fitness game/app for PSVR2. Thanks to you for a few recommendations. Luckily, for me, i have Synth Riders, Beat Saber and Pistol Whip. And, personally to me, they count as fitness.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a PSVR, so it's hard for me to test any apps that they have exclusively on their list :/ And yes, you are right - anything that makes you move and sweat counts as fitness :) I have a separate video on the best VR rhythm games for fitness, and those are all amazing apps and included on that list. Fortunately, we are getting a lot of new workout apps these days, so I have separated the genres for a more fair comparison :) Keep it up!
All anyone needs to get fit with vr is Thrill of the fight. Everything else pales in comparison when it come to fitness. Do everything a boxer does in that "GAME" not app. Ever wondered why boxers are so shredded, play it for two months and you'll find out.
I'm glad you found something that works for you! For me, TotF is more damaging than good. It's great cardio, yes, but the fighters are too tall even with calibration, and I end up using my upper traps more, shrugging my shoulders, and I end up with back and neck pain. TotF is great for people who enjoy that style of fitness. However, apps and workouts that include lower-body movements like squats are better for a holistic, full-body workout and will work for more people. The idea that "all you need" is a VR app is also misleading. If your goal is to look like a shredded boxer, you're going to have to pick up a lot of weights in addition to sparring, and it will take a lot longer than 2 months ,)
They are very similar. The Quest 3S weighs a little bit less, but it's wider, so it feels about the same. Fitness apps don't push the limits for visual details, so the 3S is great :) You also don't need the extra storage the 3 has if you're mostly doing fitness games/apps. The only thing to consider is that the 3S doesn't have an audiojack for headphones, but you can still connect them via Bluetooth or USB-C 😊
I am so glad you enjoyed it! And VR is so worth it :) There's a new leak for a Quest 3S (smaller, cheaper Quest 3) circling around lately, and it looks like Meta is facing out Quest 2. So have a look at those leaks/comparisons before making a decision :)
Thanks for this. I'm thinking of getting my FIRST VR set, Quest 3, strictly for dance workouts. If you or anyone has any tips since this was posted, please let me know! Meanwhile I'll see if investing in everything just for LesMills Dance VR is worth it...
there are a few new dance games that have just been released that are really good :) Dance Eden is one and Just Dance VR is the other. I plan to do a video on the Best Dance Games later this year :) Also, if you're only planning to use the headset for dancing/working out, I'd check out the new Quest 3S instead - as it will save you a few dollars :) www.meta.com/affiliates/51PbAm6TK
I LOVE Racket Club! I did a whole video on it for the release ❤️ It's definitely high up there, but with the learning curve, real vs. AI opponents etc I don't think it's consistent enough to make this list. But I 💯 agree that it can be a killer - in the right circumstances:)
It will definitely make you sweat and challenge your cardio, that's for sure! I've included TotF in every list up until this one. Honestly, I was dreading having to play it again to record for this video, which is why I decided to leave it off this time; I have a hard time recommending an app I am not excited about. The opponents in TotF are too tall for me, and I end up lifting and swinging my arms more than properly punching - which leads to a lot of shoulder pain and discomfort. I have no problems understanding why people enjoy it and get what they want from it - but unfortunately, I don't share that experience :/ So with the luxury of a lot of other apps to choose from, I left it off the list this time :)
I 100% agree with this I want to like supernatural but the boxing doesn't give me the same sweat or do the punches have that pop that Fitxr and Body combat have
I definitely think the app has a lot going for it and fit their target audience really well, but that's how I feel too. I plan to spend some more time with in the comming weeks, so perhaps I'll change my mind? Still looking for that workout that brings a good burn though
There's no direct integration or companion app that can pair with a heartrate monitor, but you can use 3rd party apps like YUR and I believe you can connect one to Meta Move
Thanks that was quite helpful. There's one thing though that is super important to me but no one ever mentions in reviews. The first thing I look for in a fitness/rythm game is that it has grades (S,A,B,C,etc.) for each stage clearly visible from the stage select screen. Seeing the stage select gradually fill up with S rank icons is my major motivation for coming back and challenging new stages. This was pretty standard with older games like Dance Dance Revolution, but it seems like in the fitness VR space they just tell you at the end of the stage how you did but don't actually make that visible from before you enter the stage. Or they'll make it visible but only after selecting each individual stage, so finding which stages you have mastered and which you still need to work on is a hassle.
I adore the music and scenes in Supernatural. Every time we play one of us remarks "Oh, that's so pretty!". When my kids play I have them look up where the scenes are in the world! Like where in the world is our workout today sort of thing. I also love the music. And the live guides. They give great feedback and I like the encouragement. I like supernatural so much I am scared to change to one of the others.
Thanks for sharing, as I start to travel to work, i'm considering getting quest 3 for my mobile gym. Any good yoga app to recommend? I've attended 110 yoga class in real life, of which 30 of them are yin yoga
VR is a great travel gym! Unfortunately, there's no good yoga (yet). There are however really good mindfulness apps, and some offer simple movement, breathwork, bosyscans, etc. You can also watch online videos of yoga classes through the quest browser - which can make it easier to follow along to a class :)
Love the video. I’ve been dipping my toes into VR fitness. It started with Beat Saber and Pistol Whip showing me you could really get your blood pumping. Then I tried TotF. Which wore me but I felt made me a little too sore in a not good way. So I looked for something more controlled. I decided to try the 7 day trial of FitXR and it’s pretty good so far. Though like you said the virtual avatars leave me guessing about some form. I just am apprehensive about the sub price. I’ll give the supernatural trial a shot next. And Curious to try Holofit as I have an exercise bike with Bluetooth. I really wish les mills had a demo
check my link in bio/description for 25% off Bodycombat! Hopefully that helps with the decision ;) And I completely agree on TotF. I get why people love it, but it's not fitted for me and I don't use my body right when fighting in it. But super glad you found something that motivates you to move 🙌🎉
SLAM? Yes, it's hilarious! I did it once without properly setting up, and I ended up running all over our coffee table and couch 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hope you enjoy FitXR!
@@VikingPrincessVR sorry meant slam mode! Yeah it's ridiculous. I gotta work on calibration though because I had to punch around my desk lol I also wish fit xr had knee strikes like les Mills does But I suppose that's why I found myself using both. Les mills for the martial artist in me and fit xr for the HIIT mode. Subbed because of your channel btw. Thanks the ideas and for all that you do!
@@Runny117 Welcome to the community 😊 And I agree, knee strikes are amazing and such a good way to engage the lower body and core. It seems like FitXR has been working on lot of different things this past year (Combat, sculpt, zumba, slam) so I'm curious to see what their focus will be this year!
There might be a free demo for X-fitness, and Supernatural, FitXR and LiteSport all have free trials. The lower tier acces for LiteSport is also free - and it gives access to a few different classes in each category. Free apps will have a different approach, so I plan to do a video on that in the future. You can also check out the previous video on my channel on EIR Training Lite - which is also free through Quest App Lab :)
I wish consoles stuck with motion sticks and sensors. I'd rather do game fitness looking at a TV than having to put a heavy headset on my head which I'll fog up the lenses after 10 mins
@TheRealCornPop The headsets are nicely balanced and do not feel heavy on your head - they are perfectly safe to workout with. Fogging is aslo not an issue if your headset is fitted properly. If you prefer following a video on a TV, I recommend you check out Les Mills+ -- they also have an app that can be used on Smart TVs/Roku.
@@VikingPrincessVR thanks for the rec. Les Mills looks good, but it's not interactive like a game. I think Nintendo switch (like Wii) has some fitness games, but I wish this was a more competitive space. I'm just not a fan of VR ergonomics
@@TheRealCornPop Something like Quell might be what you're looking for? The difficult part about that is hardware (like a Wii etc) is expensive and really hard to sell to people unless the games/workout options that come with it is solid -- but all that cost money, and as a developer it's hard to justify making games for a hardware that doesn't have enough usersto make your money back. Meta Quest is a bit different, because Meta has funded most of the games and apps on their platform (and other platforms). There's also a fitness mirror that has more stats etc built in which you might find interesting!
I am 100% disagreeing on that ;) But I am glad you found something you enjoy and that works for you :) I actually just completed a 1-week vlog using Supernatural every day for my workout. I'll be editing it this week and should have it up by the weekend!
@@VikingPrincessVRthat would be great I will watch. There’s a “fun” aspect to all of them and some might enjoy different platforms but viewers should be aware supernatural has a much bigger player base and daily active user count compared to Les mills for a reason.
lol! I prefer workouts that let me go for long enough to actually see a physiological benefit ;) But I'm glad you found something that works for you :)
I'll video on the subject talks only about apps, wich I dont care about. Workout shouyld be fun. I've played hundreds of hours in Ragnarock VR and lost 40 pounds with it, but growing tired of it. I want to play a game not a boring fitness oriented app. I want to forget Im working out. beat saber is an obvious choice, but also became boring after a time.
on this list, only LiteSport (have free/non-subscription version), Supernatural and FitXR are subscription based. The other 7 (or 8 with LiteSport free version) do not have subscriptions.
@@VikingPrincessVR okay so let me start off by saying that I’m not hating on what you do and I never meant no disrespect but rather saying that with you having a stage by being an influencer that the actual game itself has more to offer than the others. Your video did not break down the actual benefits of Supernatural fitness game. The meditation with the scenery is on another level. The boxing is widely imitated by all games that are in this genre. So the boxing may be overrated but the stretching, meditation, boxing and the psychical movement of it all with the scenery is awesome. I understand not all fitness based games are the same for everyone but (In my opinion) supernatural provides more than just physical movement like games such as Beatsaber. Would you mind making another video that breaks down the benefits of the game itself besides taking in the cost factor of the app itself?
@@drtyrffnek No worries at all; I thought it was a funny comment! No one will agree 100% with this list because, just as you say, the games offer different things, and what they offer will be right for different people. I've played Supernatural a lot, and it's not for me. It does not give me a good workout, and I don't enjoy it nearly as much as other apps. The meditations are OK, but I prefer meditation-focused apps (Maloka, Headspace). That being said, I've been working on a 1-week VR exercise vlog where I only used Supernatural (doing my best to give it a good try, lol). It takes a LONG time to edit those videos, and I was hoping to have it done this week, but I have to put it on hold as I have 3 deadlines for next week for new games coming out. BUT! I want to get it out as soon as possible, and it will break down the benefits/shortcomings of not only Supernatural but VR in general. So, hopefully, that will help shed some light on why I have it in 3rd place :)

ANY of these FREE? 👀
Viki i love you
😊
The audio is really choppy 😢
I didn't notice when listening through after the upload? Do you have a timestamp?
Why did you leave "Thrill of the fight and Creed out of the list ? "
I’ve used body combat. It doesn’t even come close to supernatural vr.
I am 100% disagreeing on that ;) But I am glad you found something you enjoy and that works for you :)
I actually just completed a 1-week vlog using Supernatural every day for my workout.
@@McSlappin1 I would love to see those numbers if you could share a site :) I am a big stats nerd lol
Creed kicks on a butt on all your recommendations. 5 mins in and you are out.
lol! I prefer workouts that let me go for long enough to actually see a physiological benefit ;) But I'm glad you found something that works for you :)
body combat XR is no joke 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
Right? I hits hard, and so so goooood 💪💪💪💪🥵🥵😅
Thrill of the fight not in top 10 is a shocker
⚡⚡
I'll video on the subject talks only about apps, wich I dont care about. Workout shouyld be fun. I've played hundreds of hours in Ragnarock VR and lost 40 pounds with it, but growing tired of it. I want to play a game not a boring fitness oriented app. I want to forget Im working out. beat saber is an obvious choice, but also became boring after a time.
классно. хочу виар очки
Creed makes me sweat so hard
Glad you found something that works for you :)
The Most of the Games are Subskription titles. I don’t do buy Subskription Titles. I’m Only interested in Games without Subskription.
on this list, only LiteSport (have free/non-subscription version), Supernatural and FitXR are subscription based. The other 7 (or 8 with LiteSport free version) do not have subscriptions.
Thank you for your im informative Video
@@Haesin68 I am glad you liked it :)
Supernatural is better! Influencers are people with personal opinions! That is it!!!
And so are people who leave comments on UA-cam videos ;)
Glad you found a workout you enjoy!
@@VikingPrincessVR awesome, looking forward to it. Maybe I’ll check out your number 1 pick. Thank you
@@drtyrffneksubscription though. No thanks
You cant exercise in VR, the sweat would make it foggy and soggy.
Strange... I've been doing it every week for over 4 years now, and so have my clients and our community 🤔
Das kann ich jetzt nicht in Englisch schreiben. muss man übersetzen. Da gibt es so ne Art Maske in Baumwolle. Das saugt den Schweiß auf und verhindert das beschlagen der Brille.
Sounds youve never tried it buddy. Ofc you can.
@@KazaarLotha Am i missing some addon to collect sweat and stop it fogging up?
