    I think humans don’t give enough credit to elephants. We see how smart every animal underwater is in response to humans such as dolphins and whales. With elephants the vibrational sonar they are able to use is that within the same range of the whale. A great feat of earths law of nature

    Elephants are huge, so some consider them violence, frightening etc, but they look calm & friendly in this video. Actually, I don't have many chances to see elephants in Japan, but I love elephants!

      They were rescued elephant .but if you see the wild one don't try to get near them.Not all elephant are kind especially wild male elephant that live alone
      I live in Thailand and right now I help some work with my professor to conserve elephant and reduce conflict between human and elephant (occured often in village live near the forest. So many died both people and elephant)
      But I agree with you when elephant move their big ear it was so cute ♥️
      P.S.If you want to get close to elephant. I recommend you to visit Elephant nature park in Thailand. Here we rescued elephant(So they are calm&friendly and you can get close to them) .more than this you can have special time to be a volunteer caring them. Great view and food too!

    How about that one elephant that made all the other huge elephants look small? Whew. Beast seemed like it could just walk on top of that van and ride it like a skateboard. So they can hear thunderstorms better, they have those long trunks, clearly making some low freq noises, can they communicate in a lower freq than we can hear too? Like land whales communicating across long distances? Lower freqs carry better.

    A question I've wondered is, do the tusks play a role in picking up low-frequency soundwaves to help them hear? Would they conduct the vibrations to the skull and inner ear? I think of Edison who bit onto a piano to "hear" it play as his teeth allowed the soundwaves to get to his inner ear. I've wondered the same thing about Triceratops if they used the frill as a dish and horns to help them hear as well? Solid objects conduct sound better than soft tissue...might this be possible?

    in minute 3:00 to about 3:04, it shows raindrop being recorded falling on a stick and everytime the water drops hit they create sound. but since its being recorded at a smaller level. the sound they create then becomes infrasound. how do they use to record this ?

    Am I the only who's curious about what would happen if you play the Scientifically Accurate Low Frequency Vocalisation of a T Rex in front of them? I've seen people talking about playing that sound In front of their pets and their pets suddenly become squirrely and on edge. It proves that we mammals have an innate primal fear for Low Frequency sounds.

    If infrasound is so good at letting elephants know where a storm is coming from, then why don't weathermen use it to predict the weather?

    • @PeterDanielBerg
      @PeterDanielBerg 6 років тому +1

      satellite imaging of weather systems changing over time, coupled with statistical models, is more accurate on a larger scale and further in advance. i mean the elephants can only detect the storms when the storms are already in earshot. even if they could invent like, really big umbrellas, that doesn't give them much time to prepare themselves for the storm.

    • @Olivescat
      @Olivescat 5 років тому

      weather scientists can predict storms before the animals can in most cases. It is just amazing to see how a natural being can predict the storms way way before our natural selves can

      it seems the elephants are in a nice reserve. and like stated in the video they are rescues. The noises changed their behavior in a non-hazardous way, they knew the elephants weren't going to hurt them selves or be hurt by the noises. It is a very much harmless quick experiment on natural animal behaviors. Nothing wrong with this experiment from a moral perspective
