- Researchers listening to elephant sounds and observing their behavior are compiling an elephant dictionary. Bob Simon listens to the language of the forest elephants first hand.
If this area would become a killing field without her constant presence, then Andrea is risking her life every day to study and protect these animals. What a brave woman, and a brave way to live a life. I hope there's someone to take her place when she retires.
The death of the calf broke my heart. The family members trying to revive the baby was too sad. These are intelligent, emotional creatures that deserve our respect and protection. And especially our love.💕🐘💕
Elephants, dolphins, chimpanzees, killer whales are all animals that are exceptionally interesting and intelligent creatures. They can all verbally communicate, but we don’t understand them well enough to learn their languages. If we put more research into learning these animal languages then it would open doors of communication that would be earth shattering in the world of science.
Thank you so much for this story. My late father was very much a respecter of animals and we shared the love and fascination of elephants. May they and all beings be blessed with long, contented lives.🐘💕
Forest elephants are my fav animal atm. Majestic, eccentric, and elusive - all my fav characteristics of animals.
I watched Adene Roode calming a very traumatised snare victim a baby called Fenya and it was a very low rumbling sound she made it absolutely won me over. Sadly this little elephant didn't make it but ended her days in the knowledge that she was loved. Adene Roode and her team perform miracles as do the other conservationists and Orphanage
I Love Andrea Turkalo she's an amazing Biologist and she knows a lot about Elephants by their Names Sounds and Families and also their Behavior and RIP Bob Simon.
Wow what a calling that woman has. It seems so lonely where she is. Bless her.
I’ve watched 60mins in 14mins
I want that dictionary. It's so awesome we finally start to meet other animals at eye level and learn how life looks like through their eyes.
RIP Bob Simon, this was one of your many pieces! You are sorely missed
