- Time to unbox the Master Supply Co Daytona.
This particular model is the Daytona 224. It has some slight design changes from base model Daytona. It's also made in a different leather. MSCo calls it "Accelerust" which is a medium brown base with black pigment on top. Apparently a very fast-fading leather.
In this video I go over why Master Supply Co caught my interest, the idea behind their product, and the box opening with first impressions and first wear of the Daytona 224 leather jacket.

Thanks for reviewing the 'middle' tier of brands. Good to know what people will actually get for there funds in an industry that can be a bit sketch and new brands can blitz over social media with high production ads and pictures.

Hey Duds, I have never heard of this particular brand before. Therefore this vid was so interesting and instructive. - I especially loved watching you at that particular moment, when you started unboxing that jacket from this beautifully designed Master Supplies box. I liked that cool picture card which was enclosed together with the jacket. It looked very good on you despite the discussed internal pocket issues. The liner has a pretty beautiful colour and design.

Thanks Willy! A lot of folks have been asking for me to provide my thoughts on less expensive brands, so this is part of that effort. I have returned this jacket and will be getting a different model from them to wear and review over time!
I think this is a somewhat fair review. Although with a bit more attention paid to the description on their site it clearly states it’s basically a brown / black. I have maybe 10 of their jackets. They are amazing. Yes, it’s Pakistan and not USA made, but I really think that’s the only difference between some of the higher priced brands. The other great thing about Master Supply Co is it there are ANY issues whatsoever, they email back RIGHT away, and make it right without arguing etc. I hope you try more of their stuff as it really is great. I am also not affiliated with them in any way or linked to the company other than being a customer!
Thanks Chase. Yes clearly my error with the leather. I returned it and they’re making a Daytona Reload for me with a couple of modifications and shorter length. Agree on communication, had a couple of good email convos with Josh. Will review the new one when it arrives!
Avi leather and Fivestar not too bad for the money. Bought two jackets a sheerling D-1 and an A-2. No it’s not Eastman or super high end but actually surprisingly good. Bought em for fun. Was happy
You may have lucked out a bit with your 5 Star as I’ve heard they tend to work out like you want 15-20% of the time
Speaking of budget-friendly leather jacket brands, would love to see a review of a Rugged West jacket. Awesome stuff as always man!

Yeah looking at the video after making it, I have to agree. I like the fit much more than on the Thursday jacket I reviewed for sure. It’s a pretty pliable leather even it it has some thickness to it, which makes it drape easier right out of the box than some sturdier / stiffer leathers

As someone who lives in an area where jackets are only worn maybe 3 months of the year I don't need a high end heavy leather jacket so I'm very interested in these mid tier options from Master Supply and Fivestar type places.

@@DudsByDel not at all, I don't mind used. There's just none to be found in my area. I don't want to buy used online because it's so difficult to really get a feel for the condition of things and the overall weight. I don't need anything too heavy.
Talking about BUFFALO LEATHER jackets,just got mine from five star a beautiful A2 reproduction.Amazing value & WOW that leather is nothing more that amazing (dark brown with tints of the rainbow).Thx for sharing this very nice jacket with us.

Thanks Del! Between your concerns and mine I’ll likely stay away from MS. The lining looks like it may creep/sag over time and those action back slots look like they don’t go deep enough - I had a jacket from Pherrow’s with about the same amount and within a few weeks of receiving it the base of one of the slots started to open up!
Yeah it’s a smaller action back. I feel that some Aero cafe racers have one like this and they sometimes to get over worked depending on how they get used/worn. Will take a closer look at the lining for the review. First impression it was less blousy than some but also less breathable

I purchased "Convoy" design from Master Supply....great quality, but fits very small.
Interesting on the fit. I found the Daytona to be a little roomy at my standard medium, wonder if it’s a difference between the models

Actually really good fit for the jacket coming out of the box. Im really interested how will it ware in. The price range is similar to avi leather that im still looking at often, not only because of the price but because their d pocket looks so clean, they also do their in Pakistan. What leather is this one made of?
Hey Bruno. This one is made of 1.3mm buffalo. They call the color way accelerust, it’s a light brown base with black pigmented on top. I’m going to return it after initial review for a different leather
As someone who owns a few custom Wested jackets, I think they’re a superior mid-tier brand compared to Master Supply and Thursday. At least everything about Wested jackets comes from the UK and they don’t outsource materials and labor to other countries.
Have seen wested jackets on FedoraLounge but not much elsewhere. Will take another look
Straight to Hell is another middle tier that has quality stuff. I have one of their Defector models. Got in in December and it’s already developing a nice patina

Their roughout chore jacket is incredible. Doesn’t look cheap at all

Seemed like you had concerns with how it would look with all the excess pocket and bulging potential but I have to say, I think the jacket looks really good on you. Much better than I expected and I'm curious to see what your final thoughts are about this item. I never really knew what to think about them because the price point seemed too good and the marketing was a little as you say...over the top. But it looks like this might actually be a good value decent jacket.
Yeah it’s funny I should have had a mirror or something because I couldn’t see myself wearing it. But I was surprised by the fit, especially on the back
The fit is right for your "average" sort of body type. It has a slim aerodynamic sort of fit without highlighting every aspect of the torso. I think you said something about rust being in the colour description, that must be the brown showing through the black.
Yes the “accelerust” leather. They release in different hides and models from the base, this is the one I saw available when I was buying. As for the fit, yes i tend to agree with you
I remember noticing you make a comment in another video referring to jackets that fade in months and sounding quite cynical about it! Looks like maybe a faux action back?
Yes probably in my recent Rainbow Country update video. I don’t personally like fast fades and would prefer it to develop more naturally. I’m actually going to complete the review on this jacket and swap it for one in black
Is Avirex a good brand?
Hmm I am not totally sure. Haven’t handled their jackets personally. Avirex is now Cockpit USA as far as I know
@@DudsByDel I hope you review aviator leather jackets also. I think your content can be trusted... I was thinking of getting an aviator or the good deal all saints... Its really hard lol
I have a couple Master Supply jackets. Prefer the ones that’s have the more “perfecto” style but they’ve been pretty good.
Perhaps I should have tried one of those…I felt like checking out a simple design first would be a good baseline

You should try their goldrush model. Its incredible, i think its one of the best jackets ive ever seen in my life
I understand that it’s popular and may very well review it in the future. But I wanted to start with a simple model that is more my typical style
You wear shorter jackets, this one is visibly longer, the jacket is very pretty but it doesn't fit as well as yours, which are shorter on the hips. Sorry for my English.
Yes I agree this one is longer than I’d like. I’m getting another from them customized to be shorter!
