    it's hard to put on another layer to your outfit when you live in a hot country like india where it's above 40°c (100°f) most of the year barring the two or so months of colder weather we get

    • @machtmer
      @machtmer 2 місяці тому +2

      True, however Del apparently lives in South Louisiana U.S. So maybe not quite India, but (speaking as someone who similarly has lived there) not far removed. If you really want to, you can get unlined leather jackets that give the look without the heat, that you could get maybe six months’ use of annually.

      Thanks for the comment and @machtmer thanks for the follow up. Yeah its hot in South Louisiana. We do have air conditioning for the hotter months. You can however layer with a tank top and light shirt. Anything to create more visual interest. Perhaps accessories can be your statement

    I appreciate that you acknowledge the hurdle that most guys have to overcome to put on a leather jacket (especially a moto leather jacket) and embrace it with confidence so that they don’t feel like they’re wearing a costume. It is such a statement piece and says so much without having to say a single word.

      Yeah I get it! But it’s pretty awesome when you find a jacket you’re happy to do that with

    can confirm, ever since i started wearing leather jackets, my style game has been crazy. Getting into this heritage style was because of leather jackets for me. This vid is basically leather jacket propaganda and I'm all here for it lol

    I've been a fan of the ol' leather jacket since I was in high school, and I still love wearing them today in my 40s. Also, Del, since I just noticed you have a merch store, it would be amazing if you created a t-shirt with the slogan "how does this jacket jacket?" in like a traditional tattoo font or "bandito" script. I love your usage of "jacket" as a verb, and that slogan would look fantastic on at t-shirt underneath a leather jacket, lol.

    Nice, we used to wear them all the time in the 80s. I just remembered I have a bike jacket just like that one that I hardly wear since picking it up second-hand. It really is about confidence because very few guys wear them and you will stand out. Must check out your other Leather J's.

    totally agree, i see lots of people wearing a schott on social media, but i never see one in real life. the 618 is totally my most complimented jacket

      Yes one of the most “online is not real life” things is comparing how often I see em in real life vs Instagram/ UA-cam

    It helps to put yourself together proper, but if I put on my Schott 613 one star jacket, I am already standing out. People will notice, especially if you rock it.

    Once you have entered your thirties, dress like an adult. By this, I don't mean the style you wear, I mean the fit. Wear clothing that is your actual size. Manufacturers seem to absolutely hate the idea of standardized sizing, so getting things to fit requires effort. It doesn't matter what body shape you have, getting the right size or having a few alterations done makes the difference.
    A side note: I just received a 618 from Japan. I had to filter through a thousand listings to find one that had the correct measurements, but it was worth it.

    • @waynekoren828

      You nailed it, proper fit takes you to the next level. Put yourself together.

    I think most of us are conditioned to blend in respect the status quo. I have been guilty of this. No more! Conformity can be soul crushing. Style won't affect who we are, but it can definitely improve our outlook.

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  5 місяців тому

    If you really want to be cool you should first dump the graphic tee shirt. Also the Canadian Tuxedo is not a good look. I love leather jackets and have a number of them. However, if you are over 30 and don’t ride a bike you should skip the biker jacket. As I said I love leather jackets and have a number of them but none of them are biker jackets. Mine are all Italian leather jackets purchased in Florence. So dump the graphics tee and get a nice Italian leather jacket.

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  5 місяців тому +3

      1) wrong about the tee
      2) wrong about Canadian tux or double denim
      3) anyone can wear a biker jacket
      4) much is up to personal preference. Don’t wear those things if they’re not for you but making coherent looks that are true to yourself and a particular vibe or era is ok. If your look doesn’t fit or doesn’t have coherence that’s something different
