- Neil Young performs "Long May You Run" with Willie Nelson live at the Farm Aid concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 4, 1997. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

i guess they don't have good musical taste!
The dislikes probably have to do with all the hypocrisy coming from these influential celebrities, who threw their undying support behind the forced downgrade of America.
On one hand, these celebrities still get to go out on (whats left of the town) to act like the advocates of all the poor people on the face of the earth, while they continue to solicit a yield from those who are one paycheck away from poverty on the other hand. Many of us just don't like the fraud behind their Americanized dream of Socialism.
Also, we don't enjoy the soft Communism they keep pushing, or that they're busy giving away the people's power and property to an ever-expanding authoritarian state that taxes us all into poverty to support a series of foreign conflicts, while our poor die in the gutter from drugs and hunger as a result of some of their other subsidized ideas!
"We the people" have thoroughly been cheated out of the decision making process in every area of human life for the longest time and so there's a big disconnect between those who still fall for the scams of the owners of people like John Mellencamp and Neil Young, etc., and those who can finally see the grift.
You have to get fairly deep into cause and effect to understand the dislikes here and why all this is now such a problem for those who continue to manufacture artificial problems for us to solve with more taxes, when we used to be way more "e pluribus unum" back in the day.... before they got rich.
If people came together under God and respected traditional America and Americans instead of being forced into playing some elite identity politics game, there wouldn't be this charade of cancelations brought on by the very people who gave us a dislike button.... and then took it away from us when they found out we disliked their future plans for us.

One of my very favorite Neil Young songs. Neil's words in this song and in "Old Man" and "Sugar Mountain" have poems and melodies that produce heart wrenching emotions like no other musician's can besides Bob Dylan. Mickey Raphael has always been the best harmonica player in the business - my husband started playing the harmonica for fun which started an interest in going to Willie Nelson concerts in SF and we saw the late Waylon Jennings and wife Jessie Coulter perform together in Santa Rosa which was fantastic.
It's nice to see Willie relaxin' in sneakers and just being laid back. Watching Neil and Willie playing together is a wonderful thing! Such talent!

"Chrome heart shining in the sun" likely a reference to the shiny (aluminium cased) transmission out of "Mort," a 1948 Buick Roadmaster Hearse Young was touring out of which needed repaired in Blind River Ontario after "missing a shift" on the long downhill. The son of the mechanic tells a great story about his mom feeding hungry Young and the band sandwiches; them sleeping in the hearse at night..
