I love these guys, and have done for nearly half a century. Their profound pop smarts, their warmth and quirky humour are such balm to our souls. Ron & Russell, long may you prosper.
What I like about Sparks is that they play the music exactly like the record. That's what most of the public really wants : a live exact rendition of the song. The Stranglers do the same. It may be kind of boring for the musicians but it's about pleasing the audience.
So very humble, so sincere, down to earth and obviously appreciative of those who love and support them. No attitudes, no swollen ego, no BS! How can you not love these guys? They put their heart and soul into performing a GREAT show...it's obvious they feed off the audience and vice versa. Hoping they come to a venue in our neck of the woods sometime. Really would like to be a part of the excitement.
I saw Sparks at the Magic Mountain amusement park stage (free with admission to park) in 1982. They were younger then. They were already brothers, though.
I have loved these guys for many years. I am now 65 and have never seen them in person. 😞 It's a dream. Ron and Russell have been my obsession for so many years. Strange I have not witnessed their wonder, close up!
Traveled around following these guys through different parts of SoCal back in the day. Listened to them on a "walkman" on a two-week trip to Japan. Just me, Sparks, and the Japanese people and culture. Love them!!! So happy to see this!! I will watch this many times over.
Just saw them in concert in Berlin last weekend. What an absolutely amazing concert. I've loved them for over 40 years, since I was introduced to them in high school. FINALLY got to see them in concert. Run, don't walk, to their next concert near you!
Sparks in the late 1970s was a huge influence on my own Str8 Sounds music. Unlike some major influences, Sparks continues to be freaking incredible, fresh, with that Sprechgesang talk singing that is still my own style. THANKS for uploading this astonishingly fresh and relevant performance! Thrilling. Geniuses.
Thanks so much. Bit of a newbie of sorts, was always very aware of them growing up but never delved further. I'm a complete die hard fan now. Look at Russ go! He's 73 for goodness sake - an inspiration to us all.
I just "joined the team" last year! Love this band SO much!! They're amazing. I also dig 10cc, ELO, and Genesis, so it guess it kinda makes sense I'd like Sparks. My wife calls my favorite bands "overly-dramatic" music.
On the one hand, it drives me bonkers when people have their phones out instead of being in the moment. On the other hand, there are some really good clips here, and your editing is excellent - thank you @chezdan9! (Born-again Sparks fan here, finally saw them in Toronto on 02 April and am still in humble awe of their smashingly brilliant show; it was All That and more!)
You did a good job sourcing and editing this video, thanks! Also, "All That" is such a great song to end the show on. You can tell Russell enjoyed singing it to the audience a lot.
I was at this one at the Crystal. My good friends is a bog deal at McMenamin's. He got me into the VIP near the front for free! Best show of my life!!!
This is truly a masterwork. Thank you so much! I HAVE to go and catch them on their next tour; I saw them during the Two Hands, One Mouth dates but I really need a Sparks set with the energy of a full band!
In the "My Baby's Taking Me Home" video from Amsterdam I can see myself very briefly. 😊 Incredible imagination that I actually saw Russell live in front of me, even for 3 times! (Amsterdam, Berlin and Hamburg) Oh, btw, they played at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown L.A., not in Anaheim. 😉
First time they were on TOTP BBC TV everyone sniggered and said they're stupid. Them people now say they're a great act. It only took 45 years for the change.
Saw you in Seattle and I brought the whole family! Epic time we will never forget. One of the best Dad things I have ever done. Ron and Russ are so fn awesome rock stars and genuinely good people.
Thank you! I am a new fan, just "discovering" the band in 2021 with the documentary. They have easily become my SECOND-favorite band! (Sorry, Sparks, you'll never replace ELO in my heart!)
Thanks! It was fun to do and I'm happy that so many people have been able to enjoy it. I started doing one for this last tour, but have been so busy with work that I can't seem to finish it.
My Baby's taking Me Home is EPIC!!!! Sadly underrated in the 70s and appeared too early to be appreciated or understood. Kimono My House and Propaganda are timeless and lyrically ahead of their time. So happy to see them still playing and selling out concerts. Love this band and still producing amazing music. Fans Hall of Fame without a doubt - Never understood the logic in how they choose the recipients but appear to miss the bloody obvious!
Thanks for putting this together! I was trying to do this too, filling in my Atlanta/Nashville footage with other clips from neighboring dates. You made it all the way through the setlist!
In their documentary by Edgar Wright - which is a work of art btw - someone says that when they are in the studio they don’t need to talk about what they are doing - they just need to look at each other and it is as if they are communicating telepathically about what needs to happen next. There is a small example of this at 1:35:00
Genuine question, just curious as to what do you mean by that? "So Mais Oui Start" in full English would be "So But Yes Start"; the opening song of the tour setlist was indeed "So May We Start?" To open with it and end with "All That" was perfection on top of Sparkstastic perfection!
@@MadcapShambleton Sparks discography and lyrics are full of interesting word play. I didn't mean the literal definition of Mais Oui in English more the fact that it sounds the same as May We.....Ron definitely does things like that in his lyrics
They should take a group of songs like where did the groove go, I phone, edith Pilaf said it better and many others and do a three penny opera style show on Broadway.
Thanks for putting this together, its great - I am currently watching the video of someone filming a video of them performing lawnmower - SPARKS must use this as an idea for one of their official videos one day...how many iterations of looking through multiple iphone screens before you see the actual band.....?
"So may we start" is such an amazing song to open a concert
THANK FOR UPLOADING THIS TO WHOEVER COMPILED IT!
That's their genius all over.
So much so, that Simple Minds use it on their tour, as a walk on. 🙂🙂
I love these guys, and have done for nearly half a century. Their profound pop smarts, their warmth and quirky humour are such balm to our souls. Ron & Russell, long may you prosper.

Damn, this band is timeless...
Not too shabby for a 74 and 77 year old.
Long may Sparks fly.
Wow! Bravo SPARKS!
I would love to see them live. I will sing every song and probably cry! ❤🎸
I feel like I'm never gonna get to see them live. Never a close city 😢
I've seen them about ten times in the last fifteen years - you will cry ;o)
They will not come to New Orleans either
So very humble, so sincere, down to earth and obviously appreciative of those who love and support them. No attitudes, no swollen ego, no BS! How can you not love these guys? They put their heart and soul into performing a GREAT show...it's obvious they feed off the audience and vice versa. Hoping they come to a venue in our neck of the woods sometime. I saw Sparks at the Magic Mountain amusement park stage (free with admission to park) in 1982. They were younger then. They were already brothers, though.
"Live fast and die young, live fast and die young, live fast and die young - Too late for that!" They're absolutely brilliant. Long may they continue.
I can't remember a tour that sparked more joy than this
Uncomparable! Ron and Russel are playing in their own league!
My god he's got some energy for a 73 year old. Hope I have in 6 years time.
A Force of Nature.
Always been a huge Sparks fanatic since a teen was fanatical about them as a boy and young teen! And still to this day love them!
Sounds like my story. The first band on my bedroom wall, Kimono and Propaganda were played to death
Sparks greatest hits in one place !!!!
They are good guys. 74 years there and is both attractive and fast. Just love their songs. Started listening to them in the 80s.
I have loved these guys for many years. I am now 65 and have never seen them in person. 😞 It's a dream. Ron and Russell have been my obsession for so many years. Strange I have not witnessed their wonder, close up!
So fortunate to have seen the two Disney Hall shows…pure magic ✨
Just discovered sparks now totally adicted
Unique humble brilliant catchy tunes lyrics love it
I've loved Sparks since they burst into TOTP 1972....Ron & Russell BLOODY brilliant and fascinating ❤❤❤
Sparks didn't appear on TOTP until 1974 with This Town.
Traveled around following these guys through different parts of SoCal back in the day. Listened to them on a "walkman" on a two-week trip to Japan. Just me, Sparks, and the Japanese people and culture. Love them!!! So happy to see this!! I will watch this many times over.
I was at the Atlanta show in the front row 😭 dream come true omg
OH HOW I LOVE YOU GUYS......
FROM THE THE DAYS OF THE
YEAR 1973- ALMOST 50 YEARS-.
Just saw them in Chicago & Milwaukee on back-to-back nights. Still amazing!!
Just saw them in concert in Berlin last weekend. What an absolutely amazing concert. I've loved them for over 40 years, since I was introduced to them in high school. FINALLY got to see them in concert. Run, don't walk, to their next concert near you!

Try "unlike most influences".
"Shopping Mall Of Love"? I LOVE IT.
So glad they are coming to Austin, TX in 2023. I have to get a ticket. Never seen them in person before.
Thanks so much. Bit of a newbie of sorts, was always very aware of them growing up but never delved further. I'm a complete die hard fan now. Look at Russ go! He's 73 for goodness sake - an inspiration to us all.

@@chezdan9 any dramatic music is good. Especially Sparks. Last time I saw them was in the mid 70's.
They are everything music should be. quirky and surprising and sophisticated- Love you Ron and Russ!
I was at the St. Paul show 3/18/2022- so much fun! I had the ticket for 8 months, just waiting!!! What a night!

La voix est toujours là !
Merveilleux Sparks !
Wow, thank you so much Mr Chezdan9. Lots of love.
Thank you, thank you from the deep of my heart!!!
what a lovely gift to all of us... great job!
Klasse Band - great Band
Ingenious for a half century !! 🏆🏆
I just love Sparks!
I’m late on the scene, I’m obsessed.. Really great, I’m a fan..
If only they’d come back to Australia…What a fabulous selection of their songs they’ve chosen for this tour….and I could sing along to all of them.
This is truly a masterwork. Thank you so much! I HAVE to go and catch them on their next tour; I saw them during the Two Hands, One Mouth dates but I really need a Sparks set with the energy of a full band!
That’s a wonderful live album 👋👋👋👋
you won't be disappointed, this last tour was quite amazing!!! (would have loved to see the Two Hands.... concert!)

I remember that first appearance very well - I was 14 and was hooked immediately!
THIS IS AMAZING!! I was so blessed to see them this tour. This is bringing back all those warm fuzzies all over again!! SPARKS FOREVER!! 🧡💚💜💛❤️
Nice that you start with Portland. Great night.
The 2nd half of We Love Each Other So Much (which I think is Aria In The Forrest) is powerful!
If they ever came to Las Vegas, I would love to see them live
this is an amazing souvenir of the tour. thank you for the effort.

Or maybe aliens Idk . All I know is they are all that!
Mano vaikystės grupė. Jėga. Myliu. You are forever in may heart.
This is put together smashingly !
Portland got the opening video and I started crying, that was the best show of my life and to have it open this comp wad perfevt
I didn't realize how much the kick drum was distorting the image in this clip. Oh well, I am truly happy that it has brought you joy!
They are ageless!
what a beautiful project by one of the best fandoms for two great atists
Thank you! I am a new fan, just "discovering" the band in 2021 with the documentary. They have easily become my SECOND-favorite band! (Sorry, Sparks, you'll never replace ELO in my heart!)
What a Run Boys...THANK YOU SO MUCH! Rest up, for I need to see you again ASAP!
Great job, Chez Dan.
Thanks! It was fun to do and I'm happy that so many people have been able to enjoy it. I started doing one for this last tour, but have been so busy with work that I can't seem to finish it.
Legends simple as that remember seeing them in the film Rollercoaster in 1977 brill
"LONG LIVE" Ron & Russ!!!!!!
Absolutely love this. Sparks fans are the best :-) Thank you for the presentation.
Had to laugh! I'm tempted to go home and rename by Roland to Ronald as well.
I'm so happy they're still doing "Angst in My Pants".
Angst in my pants and I Predict are my personal faves 🙂
If only the angst in my pants would go away...

Such a great compilation! I wish I had caught this tour. Maybe next time.
Me and my wife loves 💖🙏 SPARKS.
Us too!!! Pure JOY!!! 🤩🤩
Great footage. Thank you. I was at the roundhouse london, think it was the best concert I’ve ever been to in about 35 years of concerts.
Amazing performances! Congrats Sparks and big thanks for sharing them with us!
Wonderful. This proves that taking care of yourself pays off! As brilliant as ever.
BRAVO - superb compilation!
Extraordinary
A cool, tight band 😎 🎶🎵
Sparks still rocking!👍
You are my hero. What a brilliant idea and labor of love. Thank you!!!
Really fabulous to watch. Sparks are the BEST!
This was a joy to watch. Thank you.
Amazing idea and what a tour!
This is just soooo epic and wonderful!! Thank you so much for your time & effort putting this together and sharing the joy!
