The purge keeps telling me it’s too hard to reach the coffer. Seems to me they just want me to let them in and take everything. Yet they wanna send npcs in droves to attack me. I feel it’s too difficult to run smoothly and not enough reward for a victory. Great idea Funcom, but they need to work out the instability
Figured it out. They need two direct pathways (doors, gates) to get to the treasure coffer. If yours is raised then use two sets of stairs or two stairways side by side. Keep in mind if the stairway gets congested then they’ll more than likely despawn.
i have a genuine army of archers on elevated positions pelting the way to entry to The Crevice base with golems holding the line. not kidding even tier X Purge died ; it looked like Normandy Landing . REMEMBER : you can upgrade parts of Golems to do variety of damage types .
nice guide :) we found that zombies (from named thralls specifically) and golems were much cheaper than regular thralls since you don't have to level them.
Very nice guide, I built my purge base on a cliff side with a big open area below with one path leading up so I can funnel them that way. Built a balcony against the cliff side lined with archers to shoot them and a bunch of berserkers and golems in front of the entrance. So far I've beaten a lvl5 purge pretty easy. With the archers I set their behavior to attack all enemies, attack range to max and to stop them from running around I select under tactics stand and guard. Not one of my archers has run down and got into the middle of the fight
I attempted something similar one one of the plateaus outside the central savannah... only for the game to declare the purge couldn't build a camp near by and couldn't spawn.
People are exploiting this new purge system on PVP servers to get infinite easy zeals. You just launch a level one purge on a throw away coffer base, and never kill the commander so that npc's keep coming. Level one purge npc's are easy kills and you can harvest unlimited favors from the bodies. The purge should stop and dissappear if no one challenges the Commander with in a set time.
Currently at level 9 with the wife it's easy with our setup. When the star caller comes I'm just waiting at a distance and just butcher him with an authority war party build and than just finish. I'm not really worried about level 10.
My partner and I are having to move base locations. We're playing on the Savage Wilds mod map. We've built a great base to defend against the old purge. But, it's not going to work with the new purge system. Which is sad. I really like our base :( Thank you for the information @KiahOnFire. Thia will come in handy.
A clan place a treasure room nearby my base and they trigger a purge and those purge thralls also attacking my base and thralls. Im PvE server i did not know this is possible because i where offline.
Kiah, have you seen the Abyssal Bow? I got one in the drop from the Asura Priest at Sinners Refuge. The problem is that it said “This item cannot be moved”. It also had a timer on it.
If you want to keep the archers from blocking each other or running around uselessly, the system mentioned with the triangular stones and ceilings, sealed behind them with a fence is the best solution.👍
like it got to lvl 7 in the purge and it beat the crap out me, this looks a smarter way of doing it, only problem the purge kept spawning right on my door step!
the thralls are good but i find if you use golems it works out better since they shrug off damage have them supported by archers and you got a unstoppable force
another trick is to use inside inverted door frame instead of walls, so to maximise the number of thralls in the base, x2 per door,, (protecting area order to thralls)
Nice guide and very helpful thank you very much for this. I do have one question for you. Does the amount of thralls you have also influence the purge ? I.E the more thralls you have the more invaders are in the purge.
should try the test with the different orders to thralls, they defend themselves better when they protect the area, instead of attacking everyone, they are all for one, you have to let the AI work a little. my trick is to open the door for them and let them in,, close door, repeat
nah no doors for me, tht attracts material cost up keep per purge, just keep a zig zaged path with archers having full shot clearence, probably use t4 bearers as meat shield if u dont have enough archers, theres tons of hidden mechanics for the purge could be a whole video on its own right, got spawn maniuplation and maximum pathing range on my purge build and its built inside the jungle ruins ( just incase they decide to fix those trebuchets dont want to deal with structure damage ) only thing i have left to do is slowly replace my cannibal brute archers with the 2.88 ranged multi for the purge thralls with 3.09 ( free 21% more dmg multiplier woop).
@@devilsmessanger only time i use golems is when i want them dead for blood crystals lol, i got legacy bearers with over 18k hp, did recently put a "healbox" in their range too basically a dancer with lifebloodspear on for alittle more sustain feel like its unnecessary though ( also heard a rumor tht when legendaries got buffed lifeblood spear stacks with multiples now havent tested it yet so for now just the one dancer)
zzzz built 4 different bases now to try to get the thing to spawn just keep getting told no suitable location to setup base but theres plenty of flat space around the base it just never spawns hope they figure this out soon cause not really trying to build a base out in a open field just to enjoy this "new" system so far they kinda just butchered the old one at least it spawned lol.

So basically, they don't attack foundations and everything in their way, they just try to beeline the treasure room (and break doors in the way)? Very good to know.
correct, however, from my experience, sometimes they accidentally damaging some walls but not so much to destroy them. Never had any damaged foundations.
I think people are going to tire of this new purge system very quickly. I've done 2 purges and I really don't see much point in doing many more. I had to build 2 new bases just to find a location that they purge would set up their camp. And beware they will set up camp behind the green barrier and you can never reach the commander. I had to remove the treasure from the coffer to end the purge. And even when you find a place to set up sometimes it takes several tries before the purge will set up camp. I liked the old system better. I had a reason to train my thralls and build a strong base, now that I can choose to never call a purge I feel no incentive.
So I just flew all around isle of siptah on xbox didn't find 1 greater???? Or any gem things for the surge how are we supposed to do a surge now .xbox just had a patch about a hour ago
Im in Xbox one and it’s unplayable now with many texture glitches and crashing almost everytime I check thralls or my own inventory and I did expect the old gen to not be perfect but it was much more stable before this update
The new purge pathing IS TRASH, PURE TRASH. You are FORCED to make a purge base for this crap. A lvl 9 purge won't even give you named t4/5 thralls to capture. UTTER CRAP 'UPDATE'
the new purge system nice but the rewards are trash and not worth it. i dont see any reason to do purges now. u lose more than u get. from chest u get loot that u can get from chests of nearby NPC camps and from farming iron and wood. and the trader dont even have thralls to buy as reward and only some mercenery and the other items are usless in PVE-C. the update is sucks. and the rewards that was changed from normal chests in camps are bad too, its 90% decorations that after 3 times looting u just start ignor it and stop loot it. the update is bad in terms of loot and rewards. lvl 8+ purge can lose u multiple golems/thralls(lvl 20) just so u get some avarage loot and not even granted good T4 thralls. not mentioning u cant get T4 crafters from purges anymore becose they cant appear in cages and the trader not selling them.
very true. The outcome of a purge is forgettable. The new purge is only for the thrill and a battle with many many thralls/NPCs. The old system didn't have good loot either, but was more unpredictable. with multiple spawn points around the base. after the update, it's just concentrating all available troops on one point of the base. However, by adjusting the loot system in general, at least the looting in the world makes a little more sense and "fun".
@@spacequack5470 You are absolutely right. But I think it's about the fact that the loot in a purge is not in proportion to what you put into the defence of the base. In the world itself you can find a lot of good loot through the new system and a purge is not particularly worthwhile.

I had a heavy armor and was lvl 60 with points in hp

How do you lvl your thralls for the purges? Id normally have lv 10s but rarely train purge thralls further as it takes forever?

have you tryed making a volcano purge and let the lava kill the level 10 purge?
How do you make the new burning siege cauldrons? Is it a recipe you have to get from purge loot?
I cant get more than 1 door in my construccion before it starts telling me it cant reach my xxxx

Whats the max amount of doors before the purge doesnt like it. Iv seen 6 doors freak it out but you have like 15 doors.

use Golems to tank damage .parts are dropping still very often.

Loot is awful, not worth losing thralls over this loot and thralls. Another massive fail by funcom...
