TO MUCH WHITE AMERICANS LIVE IN CAPE
What do you two do for employment
@@FreedomQuestsI'm curious as well
One doesn't realise how privileged we are to call South Africa our home. 🇿🇦🇿🇦
Thanks for watching.
I travelled all over the world CPT is one of the most beautiful cities is the world... sadly the government is really making a mess off out beautiful country 😔
@zparkergeco we need to have faith that this government will loose control. SA is too big to fail Africa and the world is too reliant on it. I wish all South Africans could receive one trip to the Cape to see what things could be with a proper government.
For the privileged and the rich white collar crime evil people who enslaved other races to be where they are and exclude the indeginious people of our country and powered by thieves called politicians.Go to the townships of the very same Cape Town you will see two separate worlds
All thanks to our patriots of old that built , and planned and laid it out ,do hope it remains like this clean and pristine , the only city not governed by the ANC
I am a Capetonian, and when I saw your JBh video, I said "wait 'till you see Cape Town!😂" I am very proud and so happy you enjoyed the stay. Save travels guys🥰
Thanks so much for watching.

Thank you for giving South Africa,Cape Town a great review. The politicians and many business leaders paint our beautiful country negatively abroad.
True
Thanks for watching
Very true
What poli-tricks-cians
Yea our political climate isn't exactly warm.
As a South African I have loved watching your videos of SA. I have been in Cape Town for about 3 years now, lived in Joburg for about 10 years before that., so it's been really nice so see a foreigner's perspective on those 2 cities. I actually just wanted to thank you, because honestly your optimism about of SA is refreshing. I'm sure you might have similar experiences with America but when you've spent your entire life in a place you are all too aware of the dark underbelly of that place. It's nice to be reminded every so often of the goodness of my country, and of Cape Town in particular.
Thank you so much for watching and for this kind comment.
Isn't that true! I always thought people are just exaggerating but when I saw Cape Town I was completely spellbound by this incredibly beautiful city. The air and light is magical.
It definitely is. Thanks for watching.
Cape Town is breathtakingly beautiful, out of this world!!

The Province of Beautiful Nature for sure
It’s too much hey 😊
When you come again, please pay a visit to the Winelands, Stellenbosch in particular, the West coast and the Overstrand, all part of Cape Town.
So glad you saw Cape Town as well. When you do a wine tour on the wine farms you will be surprised how beautiful those wineyards and mountains are, as well. The wines are some of the best in the word. Stunning place!!! Also to the other side of Cape Town on the West coast you will find the fishermen with their fishing boats and freshly caught fish. The Cape is whole world on its own.
Hopefully we can see you next time
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE Piggybacking on what @annalizevanderwalt7579 said: most of our wine farms in the Cape have lovely restaurants (not just the fancy, fine dining type either) and delis, and many of them have spaces for children to play. Spier wine farm even has a sanctuary for birds of prey (viz. Eagle Encounters), where some of the birds have been trained to put on shows. Anyway, yes. Come back and experience more. Come over to my parents' house even, for some bobotie or a snoek braai... We'd love to have y'all.
Glad you enjoyed Cape Town, hope ya'll come back again soon. Chapman's Peak Drive is insanely beautiful, Camps Bay sundowner's, fish and chips in Hout Bay, sunset picnic on Signal Hill... so much more to experience!
Enjoy Durban... wait till you try an authentic DURBAN bunny chow! 👌
Yes, we definitely have to make another trip. Thanks for watching.
Mouile point. Is the place to be. I checked in la splendida hotel
Those were wild penguins, that is their natural habitat, no-one “brought” them anywhere 😂😂
So glad you guys had fun, we are all very proud of CT 🤗❤️
That’s good to know
Yup. As a child growing up on those beaches, there were no fences, etc. Just a wild beach and wild penguins. The sanctuary has been created to protect their environment.
They weren't there always though… the story is they only started surviving there from the early 1980's - pitched up little by little - must have called their friends .. to let them know of the most beautiful beach in Cape Town… and the rest is history :)
Do a township tour to experience the vibrant culture and history of local communities. Love your content! ❤
Hopefully soon
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFEjust be careful who you hook up with to do the township or community tours.
Thank you for the positive comments and visiting our sunny shores! koeksusters pronounced are pronounced as "cook sisters" 😊
There are traditional Afrikaans "koeksisters" but there are also traditional Cape Malay / Afrikaapse "koesiesters". Both delicious, but quite different from each other. The koesiesters are the ones with cardamom and coconut, so good - if you haven't had them yet, you're missing out on a real treat. ❤
Thanks for the info!
@SherrySolman-TheOriginal ah I've learnt something new today ! I thought they all fell under the same name. They were eating the ones with coconut so must have been the koesiesters! Now aside from eating an entire packet of Ghost Pops just now I now desperately am in need of a Koesiester! 😆
Durban is the home of bunny chows and roti with currys etc. Cape Town more Gatsby and babotie and snoek braai... Maybe vetkoek as well, that you you should find everywhere, though. Going to the malls you are only going to get an 'American' experience so to speak.
Naah bro. Those koeksisters are rhe Cape Malay version. So it should be prunounced ‘koo-sies-tes.
Cook-sisters is for the white version which those on the video are not.
You two are wonderful storytellers; when I watch your vlog, I feel as if I was there with you and experienced the same thing. I must say, I'm really enjoying hearing about your vacation to South Africa. More video from your stay in Cape Town would be appreciated. Shalom. 🙏🏽🤗😊

Cape Town is sooooo beautiful. You don't get tired of it.. even through its unpredictable weather, it still keeps you content because of its scenery and ambience. Your channel is filled with so much positity about Africa. Thank you
Thanks for watching
Bunny chow is from where I am from DURBAN. Its a traditional meal made famous by the Indian migrants who were brought to work in the suger cane plantations by the British in the early 1800's. India as well as SA was a colony of the british. The Malay people are tradionaly from CT so the currys etc are different than from Durban.
Good to know
You guys are so positive about our country, thank you for the free publicity on our beautiful land. Much love.
Thanks for watching.

Wow, sounds like Cape Town was a 10/10. Glad y'all are enjoying Kaapstad.
Gatsby - Cape town
Bunny chow - Durban
Kota - Joburg and surrounds
Same concept but probably different flavours/taste
The jackass or the African penguin 🐧 is definitely native to the South Western part of Africa (Namibia and SA) so it is home there.
It definitely was
Bunny Chow - definitely Durban, agreed!
Full of white people
Sphatlo - Pretoria
I was thinking wtf is a kota lmao
Glad yall enjoyed Capetown💜fun fact: you can see the MTN from everywhere it literally towers over the city..do see DBN just as beautiful✨
DBN would be a huge disappointment after going to Cape Town.

@Truthseeker i disagree. Dbn is beautiful in its own way. KZN as a whole.
@@Mbalings I think the midlands is better than Durban area itself. Is some nice costal spots but Cape Town as a city just has it all.
What you guys ate were "koesisters" which is a very Capetonian pastry - not to be confused with "koeksisters" which is a braided deep-fried dough with syrup. Most South Africans outside of Cape Town won't even be aware of koesisters & the difference between that and the much more well known koeksister.
Love your videos. I'm originally from Cape Town and it's refreshing to hear your take.
You taught me something
@@Stevenewmansa even me 😂
I've lived in Cape Town for a few decades, and only recently became aware of the existence of koesisters as opposed to koeksisters.

Cape Town is called the Mother city for good reason ❣️

So wonderful you guys posting a clip like this after visiting my home town. You just made me re appreciate where I live. We so take it for granted. I guess whatever looks the same around you for many years leads to appreciating your surroundings a little less as years go by. Thank you so much. Wonderful and such good news you enjoyed Cape Town so much. Just so refreshing. Love you guys. God bless.
Same to you. Thanks for watching.
I am amazed at how beautiful Cape Town is! I’ve always wanted to go to Durban or Johannesburg but lately I’ve been gravitating towards Cape Town. This video seals the deal!
We are glad you found value in this video. Thanks for watching.
As a Johannesburg resident I can tell you without any doubt that if I were going to promote South Africa, it would be: Land in Joburg and spend two days in Sandton. Go northeast to the Kruger Park on Safari for 3 days. Then go to Cape Town and spend the rest of your time there and up and down the coast on either side.
Just my very personal opinion.
Durban is excellent - I have family there. Nice place.
I love how you experiencing our country and the local culture. Your channel and the manner in which you share your experiences is so refreshing. We have a daughter who is almost 2 years old and traveling has always been a daunting task, but you make it look so easy, which is inspiring. 🧡
Thank you so much.
So the difference between a koeksister and a koe’sister is the following. A koeksister is a braided dough that is deep fried and then layer in a heavy sweet(lemon) syrup. The kie’sister is more like a doughnut that is also deep fried and then covered with coconut and a little sugar. It’s more a Malay Indian dessert. The koeksister is more a Dutch dessert.
I love your videos. Cape Town really is 1 of the most beautiful places on earth. So happy you enjoyed it so much ❤️
Thank you so much.
If you are here in September you must go to Hermanus (2 hours from Cape Town) and see the whales.
😍😍 that sounds amazing
Wine tasting is an experience on its own. Spier Estate!!!!!
I just returned from Cape Town last week - I agree with everything you all said!! It is absolutely gorgeous even though there was some rainy and foggy days- just absolutely breathtaking!!
You should get a kota in JHB/PTA and not CPT . When it comes to Bunny chow, get it in DBN. Apparently the cape town one is nice too…
NO ONE TALK ABOUT MOSSELBAY . ITS A MUST 😢
They must go the too...
Thanks for the recommendation.
Note: most of the uber drivers are foreigners acting like locals hence some of their info (for example koeksisters recepe) will be way off.
Oh my goodness, I must set a reminder. Even though I was born in South Africa, I've never gone to Cape Town, thus I know this video will be interesting to me. ❤💜💚
Joe-cq It is really sad to see that after nearly 30 years of "democracy", the majority black population is still confined to the "townships" the Afrikaners built to keep them, and most of them are not even trying to get out. It is like Rosa Park enjoying riding in the back of the bus. In the meantime, the nice cities the white folks built for themselves are decaying at rapid rate ever since the whites left them to build their own bunker neighborhoods. They are the only ones that can afford to fly in or out of the country. If you do not believe me, just go to any airport in SA.
You definitely have to go to Cape Town. Thanks for watching.
Myb your driver was not from south Africa as you know lots of Uber drivers are from outside of the country

Because of open minded people like you the world will get to know that Africa is not a jungle big up to you guys
So glad you enjoyed your time in Cape Town, it's refreshing to see CPT from different eyes.
The spiced doughnut covered in coconut that you had is called a Koesister, it's a Cape Malay pastry. Koeksister with two K's is a plaited deep fried pastry dunked in cold syrup, that's from Dutch origin.
Thanks for watching.
KOEK-SISTERS... Koek = Cake... + Sisters = Sister... direct English Translation = Cake-sisters. Don't ask me how or who ever came up with that name, we just always knew it as such, let's just hope its origin go nothing to do with nani.... Spelled 'Kota' is actually a 'Quarter' just pronounced in slang-ish township accent, but derives from the Quarter of a loaf of bread... Penguins are indeed endemic to Cape Town.... Bo-Kaap - literally 'Top-Cape', meaning The Top Section of the Cape, as in geographic height.
Thanks for the info
You guys are fantastic! Such positive vibes and happy people ready and willing to try new things.

Most black Americans love Jozi but I have noticed that there is a good number of those that loves Cape Town as well. It seems like all this is just natural and maybe it relates with the State's or cities they grew up at in the state. Very interesting
Thanks for watching
From what I've seen/heard, it seems like they love Cape Town's beauty, but prefer staying in Johannesburg because:
- Joburgers are fast moving go-getters. We Capetonians like to chill. It seems many of these African Americans are here to hustle and make money. Joburg is the place to be for that mindset.
- Property is apparently much more expensive in Cape Town.
- They feel more comfortable with the demographics in Joburg and Durban. I've often heard Cape Town described as "cliquey" and more racist compared to Joburg. I've lived in Cape Town all my life, so maybe I'm blind to it, but that's what I've heard.
So ja, it seems like they treat Cape Town more as a holiday destination.
@@StAlfonzo87 You honestly think Cape Town is more beautiful than Johannesburg? Beautiful in nature? Maybe with nature
@@StAlfonzo87 If you are on a tourist visa, you can't work; therefore, I'm not sure what you meant by "African Americans are here to hustle and make money." Additionally, even if one could work, there would be little desire for Americans to earn rands, when one could easily earn dollars in the U.S.. Black Americans who are in SA on a tourist visa are vacationing.
@@Blissful-es1kk Making money was a poor choice of words. Perhaps "conduct business" would've been better. I was thinking of the likes of Mansa Mayne (definitely did a lot of hustling), Asad El Malik, Changing The Narrative, Julian Albino, etc. They're not necessarily here to make money, but they all seemed to settle in Joburg for living permanently or conducting their business.
Thanks for this. Cape Town is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world with the mountain and sea vistas pretty much everywhere you look. The penguins are native to the area :) It's the African penguin (a.k.a. the Jackass penguin, because they sort of bray like donkeys).
Gr8 video. You had koesister (one ‘k’). Something different is koeksister (two ‘k) - very sweet / cooked in suger syrup.
When in Durban :
1) Live at The Pearls Umhlanga
2) Shop at The Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga Rocks.

Thank you for a great review of SA. Our country is going through a lot of transition and mostly we are painted with black paint. Your review would be widened if you also look at the smaller towns as they also can be hidden gems.
Thanks for the advice.
You must also go see the other side of Cape Town, Cape Flats which gives a vibe of like it’s a different World . Township of Khayelitsha Langa in Particular , even MichellsPlain
Don’t miss Robbin Island learn of History too where Mandela was held for over 20Years
Enjoy my City though 😄✌🏽
Thanks for the recommendations.
