Looks like Kenya 🇰🇪 is putting up a very serious fight against South Africa 🇿🇦 😅 I know SA wins especially on infrastructures but the fact that you said you can live in either country without feeling like you’re missing out on what the other has to offer, speaks very highly of Kenya’s rapid emergence as a force to reckon with 😊👍 Kenya 🇰🇪 definitely has an edge over SA in terms of reliable electricity, Wi-Fi and mobile data services! I read that SA needs R500 billion to repair the dilapidated roads but the ANC doesn’t have the money! I’ve not even touched on their power grid also coz that’s a different issue altogether 😅 SA is crumbling while Kenya is progressing very well 👍 Kenyans should stop thinking that SA is still setting the bar for other countries to follow! Am a Kenyan🇰🇪, I really appreciate you guys for taking your time to visit the continent and sharing your experiences in your travels! In this comparison video I believe you got it right while Kenya has been making commendable strides in terms of development in various sectors I think South Africa is ahead of Kenya in many sectors. As Africans we just need to learn to appreciate and encourage each other even as we learn from each other! Enjoy your stay in Kenya and wherever else you go. I hope your experiences can get to attract many more people from the world over to come visit the continent!
I love your honest opinions, we Kenyans we love South Africa and i hope one day will reach their level. It's up to our leaders to work harder for the citizens
As a British who has traveled the whole of Africa and currently living and working in South Africa I would say SA is more developed than Kenya but Kenya beats SA in internet and electricity hands down. Also with the current fragile political, social and economic situation in SA, I would see kenya overtaking SA in infrastructure and many things in about 15 years or so.
Kenya will never overtake SA in infrastructure we are busy building two new city around Johannesburg excluding steyn city which is Lanseria smart city and waterfall city also with new Estates popping up which are on another level, so your statement is incorrect... Durban is building a new coastline development new hotels and apartments.
@@reantai7101 Kenya is also building 2 digital cities.Google Konza Technologies and Mwale Medical and Technology city. They are Silicon Valley of Africa. The first in the whole of Africa. Travel outside your country and you will appreciate progress a cross Africa.
i totally agree with the electricity part since SA is facing a crisis but on the internet part i dont agree with you SA has the best internet on the continent you can even search that up not to mention that SA spearheads 5G in Africa. the only time the internet is slow is when the power goes out and it comes back a few minutes later.
I'm South African and I'd say you haven't explored much of SA. And many of the shops you saw in Kenya are SAn. Makes it easy to actually live there. But, I speak for all South Africans when I say we love Kenya and how they work so hard to develop their country. Their people are so nice and smart.
And they did Africa proud the way they hosted it. Especially after the British media tried with the negative coverage in the run-up. I as a Kenyan agree with this video's verdict.
Fellow Kenyan & true .. they take their sports seriously as compared to us. Aside from.our athletics, most of our athletes can't go 'pro' & depend on it as a career from pay, to healthcare different aspects. We really have to improve on that for them.
As a South African who spends a great deal of time in Kenya, I'd say SA is more ideal for urban living (although Nairobi comes very close) and Kenya has a very safe rural lifestyle (outskirts of Kisumu). I stay on the lake every chance I get when I'm there
We luv both; enjoy the food in SA much more. While Durban is warmer than Joburg, in winter it's not nearly as warm as the Kenyan coast. We made Kenya our home; and we are grateful to be here. Overall we luv our home continent. Both countries can be a great choice.
My two beautiful countries. So many similarities they share. From foods, languages, products sold in supermarkets and so on. Travelling between the two countries is very easy with so many airlines flying between the two. Good analysis guys.
My opinion,You really have to explore like you mentioned the hidden gems of both countries,South Africa has a lot more going than Kenya to be honest.I think the data speak for itself. Diversity there is no other country in Africa like South Africa. Kenya is beautiful and has its own to hold up, but SA is on Another level .
Well, that was a very close tie. South Africa is a lot more richer that Kenya and thus for Kenya to be very close, its quite exciting. Even if South Africa were to win hands down, I don't think Kenyans would fret coz that would be the expectation. Thanks FREEDOM CHASERS for your very objective comparison of the two counties.
The highest favorability seems to be a function of level of development and prosperity. I haven’t been to SA but I love the people of Kenya. They have embraced me and made me feel at home. We ain’t rich but life is about so much more than that. I’ll put in my 2 cents to up the prosperity so we’ll go from there. Nobody has a crystal ball to see 20 years out but, as an African American, this is where I’m putting down roots...
@@msimisidlamini5399 In short if you decide and chase those boers as you normally propagate in political rallies, then you are gone!!, you will be compared to Niger, Mozambique and other funny funny Africans nation
Honestly as a south african who loves her country i could fully respect u guys choosing Kenya. They sound so similar and with the lower crime rate and the fact thst kenya is catching up and SA is having problems escalate - it is a very tough call. Those beaches in Kenya look amazing! I think if I'm ever forced to move i know where I'd wanna go 😉. Thanks again for great, honest content! ❤ Also it might be a good idea to visit both in summer again if they're your top choices overall. I'm pretty sure Kenya is much hotter, since its closer to the equator. Also for the allergies, check your bread. Bread is supposed to go stale after a day or so. I've noticed a lot of people have bad reactions to the long life bread because of whatever they use to increase shelf life. Also cape town has amazing artisanal food places which will have higher quality fresh food-based meals on the menu which might also help. 😊
The weather in Kenya varies depending on where you are. Nairobi for example, doesn't go beyond 31/32 C in the summer. Summer temp averages around 26-29 C, and there tends to be a cool breeze even at those temperatures. Rest of the year will range between 14 to 26 C
I love my country Kenya soo much but on this I agree with you. SA is much ahead. I especially love the music and the National Anthem, i feel like it represents the whole of Africa
As a Kenyan who has been to cape town , the beauty there surprised me. Its beautiful and modern and cheaper food prices. More modern stores. Only negative in SA is security. But if given a chance I would move to South Africa at a heartbeat. I love Kenya as well and am glad it’s putting up a great fight to SA. So salute to my Kenyan brothers and sisters. Maybe in a few years we will be there. So yes I am with you in the tally of scores
Anyone who has experienced both countries would appreciate your objectivity.Yes they are both attractive, livable places . However, my view is that South Africa has depth and Kenya ambition. The gap is still quite significant but it's narrowing.
I’m so proud to see foreigners objectively rate Kenya so close to South Africa. I’m pinching myself because South Africa is literally a developed country and to bring my country Kenya that close, makes me so proud.
This video has made me want to come and see Kenya, afterall we have a shared history with the people of Kenya and a language as Swahili is closely linked to Zulu.
Just because two Americans are been diplomatic friendly about two countries doesn't mean Kenya can be compared to SA, they have to be kind and not tell the actual truth because you guys will be offended. You cant compare Kenya to SA in any sense, that will be doing injustice to people of Kenya and lying to them
I been to SA countless times, it is such a beautiful place. Its landscape is amazing. I hav never been to Kenya, i ve heard of its beauty as well. I really wish to visit it some day. Lotsa love to both Mzanzi nd Kenya. I am from Botswana, a very small nd laid back country, please visit it some day.
@obakengotlwaetse3440 Yhuu "laid back" does not extend to parties, Batswana party hard😭😭 Chobe is a very beautiful national park, I am not very fond of game drives but I could repeat Chobe any day.
It's cool that you guys are doing this. Overall there are places in Africa that people from across the world can visit and settle and feel like they're part of the global space. I feel that here in Nairobi where I've grown up, and from research about south Africa, there are really great places to live. Welcome to the continent. Welcome home, our old siblings.
I commend Kenya, a small East African nation without any minerals or oil but has managed to make hee mark globally through agriculture and tourism only
Kenyans are always honest and do admit facts that S.A is kinda far from Kenya in many ways and this sounds wow istg😊❤Buh funny Tz would never admit they're 30 years behind Kenya in almost everything. We Africans and it's good to appreciate the goods that the neighborhor has. All in all. Let's let's go MAMA AFRICA. We Proud of your soil🌍🎉🎉
This is because an average Kenyan is well traveled and exposed to appreciate the differences and draw informed comparisons. This is not so with most Tz who sees things from one lens.
Kenyans are very ignorant and total opposite of what you said and in actual facts, most Tanzanians I come across are very down to Earth people, honest and not delusional. Even by reading most comments here, you can see how problematic your people are and the vile things they say about SA while trying so hard to lift Kenya. I wouldn't want to be around such people, no thank you
You guys really walked a tight rope 😂 well done 👏 The fact that we can even measure up to SA is amazing to me and means we've come a long way, (and still improving!). Although I think you were a little kind to Kenya, but I ain't complaining 😏
Guys I like your comparison which is very honest, fair and mature, anyway I am proudly Kenyan since we are the most developed country in East and Central Africa which means the future is bright for us
Your points are so well thought out. As a Kenyan who's lived in SA for a while, I especially liked your point about housing - getting more bang for buck, and also there's no comparing SA landscape to Kenya's. Most of their provinces have such breathtaking landscape! I'd still not move here for good though. I love Kenya 😊😊
My feelings are a little bit hurt but it's quite understandable. Being actually compared to such a giant country that has been dvpd for quite some time is such an honor. Again it's all about preference and we respect your decision.some would prefer my beautiful Kenya based on their own known reasons of which we do respect also
@@roblucci2366 but from what I understand it had been receiving massive support from western powers during colonial period and had some kind of favorism and isolation to other African countries and together with the citizens, they highly contributed to its growth at that time. From 1994 it was just but a mega boost to what was already there. I stand to be corrected though..
@@TrizaBundi all countries in Africa were developed by the coloniasts In South Africa's case we build upon the existing infrastructure which was only built to accomodate 10% of the population
@@roblucci2366 I disagree. Kenya for instance had machakos as the place chosen by colonizers as it's capital. Little was done there and till date it remains just but a mere town. Nairobi on the other hand was made a capital city after independence and had it's first iconic building,KICC, built by the first president mzee Jomo Kenyatta in 1974. Also little to nothing was taking place in other east African countries because they didn't see much value here since there were no minerals. This place was seen as a useless bush full of wild animals and held no significance to them. Ethiopia on other hand successfully resisted colonization and they are really doing well for themselves in terms of infrastructure. In those days Uganda was actually chosen as destination for colonizers ,and reason behind Kenya-uganda railway because it was landlocked. Looking at Uganda today we can all testify nothing of much was done there
Kenyans pay attention. We had a sleepy moment from 1978 to 2002 where the economy was badly mismanaged, and corruption became the order of the day. We must work hard to recover from these lost decades. Economies like Malaysia 🇲🇾 Singapore 🇸🇬 South Korea 🇰🇷 which were at per with Kenya 🇰🇪 in 1978 grew to Trillion dollar economies. For Kenya 🇰🇪 to become a trillion dollar economy we must continue with high growth , innovation and we must maintain political stability and continue to attract investment. We can do it Kenya 🇰🇪 Thank you for the video.
You're right about Kenya doing well and maintaining the growth speed but sorry to disappoint you that now we will just stagnate unless we change the leadership but with the current one expect the worst
We love Kenya and Kenyans in general. I think Kenyans and South Africans pretty much share the same aspirations for their countries respectively which is why it's so easy to relate to one another.
I m a Kenyan, I lived in Durban, Warmbath and Joburg South Africa, for three years but I missed Kenya in everything. I had to come back to Kenya. Infact I missed people in Kenya and I cannot compare Kenyans with SouthAfricans 1:59
A very fair analysis 👌 Both Kenya and SA complement one another effortlessly. One can be working in Kenya and vacationing in SA or vice versa without losing touch with their comforts, familiarities etc yet get to experience a whole new world from different perspectives. On electricity issue with Kenya, gone are the days of load shedding and infact Kenya currently generates more power than the connected market can absorb. The occasional outage is purely on maintenance schedule or accidental infrastructure hitch. The KPLC issues notices and updates on upcoming disruptions both in print and social media. Primarily this is to alert customers and especially to cushion itself from possible legal suits. Yes, in Kenya, power disruption without notice that cases losses of any kind is seriously enough to sue for compensation.
Venture out to the country side. Take a road trip to Western Kenya, pass through Nakuru, the Rift Valley is scenic. Central Kenya is the backyard of Nairobi and Mt Kenya likes to show off sometimes with the snow capped peaks and all.
"In South Africa, food prices are lower; however, it's worth noting that this is a developed African nation that is known for producing genetically modified food. On the other hand, a significant portion of Kenyan food is either organically grown or conventionally produced."
❤❤❤ Thank You Both ❤❤❤ I just happened to stumble upon your channel, and I'm loving it. I've been binge-watching all day. I am living in South Africa now, but I was raised and schooled in the country of Zimbabwe... I consider both as home and I love them equally. I have travelled extensively in the SOUTHERN AFRICAN regions, visiting every country in the south. I have recently been blessed to travel the EASTERN AFRICAN regions of Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya, spending a month in each country. I must confess that so far... I love little Rwanda in the east, and little Zimbabwe in the south best. I found Rwanda and Namibia to be two of the most beautiful, cleanest and safest countries in Africa. It is honestly difficult to make a choice between South Africa and Kenya, but because the Kenyan people are so friendly and welcoming... Kenya is the one! Cities are cities wherever you go... but the countrysides and open spaces are my favorite, and every country in Africa has its own unique and beautiful features and humble people. I LOVE AFRICA❤

As South African I know crime here is on another level! We all agree. It's always hearing about our country without a bias. I thought Kenya was going to beat hands down on Electricity.
Nice informative video. Literally the best analysis I've heard. In your stay in Kenya I hope you get to explore more beauty within the country. Places like rift valley Lakes, longonot gate, abardare ranges etc.
I love the stories you tell and comparisons you identified etween South Africa and other countries. Impressive. I am based in Benoni, East of Johanneburg. I wonder if you guys have beento provinces yet - Mpumalanga Province could be another destination I am so sure you will love to explore. It is hot though, winter season is also warm in that province. You may need to have your hat ready and sunscreen when visiting that area. Mpumalanga also has games reserves - and it is home of the Big Five animals. Love you guys ....

My daughter and I moved from Texas to Ethiopia 2 years ago and plan to travel and experience east Africa, looking forward to meeting more love minding souls to co create beautiful uplifting realities for our community 🙏🏾💚
You should add another index when comparing, the projection or trajectory of the country future. SA is an African giant that has riched its pick and it about to embark on economical transfer from colonial masters to native. During that transformation, it will go down before it comes back with the owners in the drive city. For now the future of the continent is in East Africa. Pinned this comment in mind for future reference.
that's not really a valid analysis and i would have to disagree with you,you saying "SA is an African giant and has reached its peak" is not really accurate youd have to include Nigeria and Egypt as well and the same would have to apply since they are in the same caliber in terms of economic output, yet all these 3 countries are still growing altho SA is growing very very very slow due to its internal problems so long story short NO. SA might be ahead of its African peers but its hasn't reached its peak.
@@TrizaBundi yeah most African countries have a lot of corruption it's not only Nigeria but the economy is still growing at the end of the day but it would be better if the average Nigerians also saw the difference( again this applies to most African countries).
@@sykewtf9820 I agree. Although considering their economy they should be miles ahead. Their leaders are really doing them dirty.A country like Kenya ,with a relatively much smaller gdp doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence with Nigeria
Kenya is 72% rural you will enjoy it more SA is only 30% rural... And most are are developed...... Some villages have houses better than those found in Sandton
@@AustineAKwe build mensions in our rural areas, proper houses, we farm coz most of them think we Don't A typical black SAn have two houses in Rural and Cities even youth we not talking about Mamas house in Rural ......... You guys need to do a lot in Kenya. Northern Kenya is very different from Nairobi. There is also a lot to see in central and western Kenya. It would be nice to see y’all see the natural sights.
I am Kenyan and I do love SA In terms of Infrastructure SA is ahead of us but in the past 10 years Kenya has been working on improving and upgrading infrastructure which I appreciate. Why don't we stop arguing here and continue building our nations. For I pray for all of us to grow and stabilize.
Kenya needs to build 10 nairobi sized cities, pave 10 times more roads, build 30 times more industries than they already have, etc At that while South Africa does nothing for the next 50 years
Lovely video, the biggest difference i noted between the 2 is in SA you can live in various cities with similar conveniences to Nairobi while in Kenya other cities like Mombasa, Nakuru may not be at Nairobi level. Another good comparison maybe a city to city comparison, like Capital to Capital coastal to coastal meaning, Nairobi vs Pretoria Mombasa vs Cape Town Maybe Diani or Kisimu vs Durban Etc etc
I couldn't agree more! The freedom chasers have just given us a comparison with regard to their own experiences, but not a holistic comparison of the two countries. As far as their method is concerned, Kenya has faired better than expected. As a result, many Kenyans and South Africans are surprised! For Kenyans it's a nice surprise, and for South Africans it's a not so nice surprise!😅 😅 Kenya is the real winner here, because it is now making South Africans very curious about Kenya, which they thought was no comparison to South Africa, together with other African countries. Most South Africans, when they talk about countries of interest in Africa, they only talk about Mauritius and Seychelles, which are premium tourist destinations. They will now include Kenya on their list, and Kenyans have the freedom chasers to thank for that.😊😊
Great point you made there. Places like Mauritius, Seychelles, Zanzibar are exotic and offer something unique. In Kenya a town like Diani can be that but it's rather small and not so developed. Kenya needs a city similar to Nairobi along the coast to be a serious player, especially in terms of tourism numbers. When the family was in SA they went to Jo'burg, Pretoria and Cape Town. In Kenya I've seen their videos in Nairobi and Mombasa. They could do a comparison of like Pretoria to Nairobi and Cape Town to Mombasa just to put things a bit more in perspective.
Thank you for the educational review, as a South African I say the whole of Africa is unique and has alot to offer let's celebrate our differences, lets travel more and experience the entire continent for educational purposes not to compare who is better but to see opportunities of offering solutions in the areas where a certain country lacks so that we make Africa stronger to a global force respected by all nations, remember Africa is the only continent that has has all the natural resources and minerals that can make us flourish without any other continent food to almost everything. Let us please do away with pointing fingers and saying Kenya is better or SA is better rather find ways to collabrate our unique strengths to develop Africa to a level where every contry in the world can visit any contry in Africa and feel at home, we have been devided for centuries by colonialism let us not do that in this day and age, Africa is a continent with strong community values and we have to educate rhe world including the Africa. Diaspora on this very thing. Both SA & Kenya are recovering from white supremacy and we have to build our counties fight unemployment, crime, poverty political instability, corruption which brings things like loadshedding. Keep up the good work with the honest reviews, as i close Kenya is too big to explore even the citizens dont know all of it, its vast with endless scenic sites Similary SA citizens dont know all of SA its too vast n spread offering too much to see and appreiate. We celebrate the effort and energy investing time and money to explore Africa, document it for all people in Africa and rhe world to see and appreciate, keeep up the good work
I really would like to appreciate the Kenyan leadership for the progress they've made, especially from early 2000 to date. I'm sure such a comparison would not have happened a few years ago because South Africa much ahead.
Great content. Being in both countries. but prefer kenya 🇰🇪 to south Africa. This is because kenyan do not support the LGBTQ Bullsht. and also kenyans are friendly than SA.
People who are anti-other groups are more friendlier than us? This constant need to lift Kenya by trying to downplay SA because of envy doesn't make you guys look good. Also with the current fragile political, social and economic situation in SA, I would see kenya overtaking SA in infrastructure and many things in about 15 years or so.

Also it might be a good idea to visit both in summer again if they're your top choices overall. 😊

Serious development in South Africa only took place post 1994
Before that the was no development especially in rural areas
@@roblucci2366 but from what I understand it had been receiving massive support from western powers during colonial period and had some kind of favorism and isolation to other African countries and together with the citizens, they highly contributed to its growth at that time. From 1994 it was just but a mega boost to what was already there. I stand to be corrected though..
@@TrizaBundi all countries in Africa were developed by the coloniasts
In South Africa's case we build upon the existing infrastructure which was only built to accomodate 10% of the population

Both Kenya and SA complement one another effortlessly.

Only time will tell
that's not really a valid analysis and i would have to disagree with you,you saying "SA is an African giant and has reached its peak" is not really accurate youd have to include Nigeria and Egypt as well and the same would have to apply since they are in the same caliber in terms of economic output, yet all these 3 countries are still growing altho SA is growing very very very slow due to its internal problems so long story short NO. SA might be ahead of its African peers but its hasn't reached its peak.

Kenya needs to build 10 nairobi sized cities, pave 10 times more roads, build 30 times more industries than they already have, etc
At that while South Africa does nothing for the next 50 years
Lovely video, the biggest difference i noted between the 2 is in SA you can live in various cities with similar conveniences to Nairobi while in Kenya other cities like Mombasa, Nakuru may not be at Nairobi level.
Another good comparison maybe a city to city comparison, like Capital to Capital coastal to coastal meaning,
Nairobi vs Pretoria
Mombasa vs Cape Town
Maybe Diani or Kisimu vs Durban
Etc etc
@@africaneagle7397delulu
@@africaneagle7397Kenya can't be compared to SA just like how SA can't be compared to USA, let's not be delusional
We might do that in the future
We celebrate the effort and energy investing time and money to explore Africa, document it for all people in Africa and rhe world to see and appreciate, keeep up the good work
Amen. Well put, this comparisons is not good for our relationships
Am from kenya and i love my country but i also love south Africa.
We totally understand
LGBTQ pain you Neh 🤔
@@lebohangthebe-hp4gw😂😂😂 oh yeah
@@lebohangthebe-hp4gw It's pure Bullsht. Confused people men. I can't stand them
People who are anti-other groups are more friendlier than us? This constant need to lift Kenya by trying to downplay SA because of envy doesn't make you guys look good. There are more African migrants in SA than African migrants found anywhere on the continent and they all here because they can live and survive. Where did you do your survey to find out who is more friendly?
MOST HIGH YAH BE PRAISED FAM!!! SHALOM GREAT VID.! LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING IN KENYA SOON!!!! YALL VIDEOS HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL 🙇🏾♀️
Thanks fam. Shalom.
U people don't know South Africa. The only place u know Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town. There are hidden beautiful big cities in South Africa.
So… you've been everywhere in South Africa?
@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE yes I am South African
That doesn't mean you have been everywhere in South Africa.
Proudly South African. So happy you guys love it too
Love your honesty family....Tough one..Africa is beautiful regardless Kenya is on point a few things we crying about they have good that side...Peace and love and im happy and wishing u the best moving forward...❤
Thank you so much
The fact that South Africa has more Kenyan than South Africans in Kenya, says it all!
South Africa remains the best in Africa, but has a lot to fix politically, socially and economically
And hope more black Americans can make SA their home and investment destination
Is not a crime to have kenyans in SA too !!!
We hope so too
@@josephdesouse4320it's not crime but it does say a lot
@lozi4163 it's says nothing there professionally workers filling the gaps needed it happens in most countries not SA only ...travel my friend u open Yr 🧠
@@josephdesouse4320 Your own president was in SA in 2021 begging our scientists and Engineers to come develop Kenya, what kind of skills will people from an a none industrial nation such as Kenya bring to SA? first of all, your education system is inferior to ours, you don't have skills like us, your universities are inferior to ours to a point were Kenyans are coming to study in SA, what skills? SA will never need skills from Kenya, Kenyans are just coming here on survival mode like all other Africans, don't ever think to yourself that SA need you guys or you bringing anything of value. You cant even built your own freeways you need the Chinese for such.
2:40 As a Kenyan I would give that point to South Africa for sure. S.A is well developed.
Kenya sounds like a really nice place, Kenyans need to stop bashing their country when they're around South Africans. They usually tell us that SA is much nicer and there's no need for us to visit Kenya because it has a lot of problems. The people that usually have good things to say about Kenya are South Africans that live and work there...
Both countries are great
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE Agree.
All African nations are great, 🇿🇦
