I have live in USA (Florida) for 4 years, I know lot of South African keep on criticising the SA Government left right and Centre, But trust me this Government have transform this country very big in a short space of time, thats a fact.
The problem is these govt fools are corrupt.
White govt schools have produce world leaders like Elon Musk, Mark Shuttle worth, Koos Believe & that NASA black guy who has a public named after him
This will be unpopular 😂 you know who always negative
Facts 💯
Is so true we don't appreciate what we have
Excuse me!...don't kid yourself...please don't comment on something you know nothing about...our South African government is a thief steeling tax payers money.....not to mention the amount of ex convicts released from prison who are still part of our government...who are in the ANC cabinet....do you research before spewing such nonsense.
This video is truly enlightening. As a parent who recently moved to South Africa, I've been quite concerned about my son's educational journey in a new country. Your insights into the diversity and inclusivity of South African schools, and their focus on nurturing kindness and independence in children, have brought me a great deal of comfort. Thank you for sharing this valuable information. It's reassuring to know that my son is in an environment that fosters such positive values. 👏
Happy happy this brought clarity and comfort. Much love fam
Just always make sure to not choose predominantly Afrikaaner schools. Over there you will not have peace.

The cognitive dissonance you guys are giving us South Africans it too much because we grew up being told that America has the best in everything and most of us aspire to go that side not knowing that SA is also top tier. We appreciate the awakening

This definitely went beyond talking about the schooling system but rather felt like we were being schooled on life skills in general, a proper run down of a winners mentality and just a Plathora of gemstones after gemstones of wisdom 😊

One other thing is the respectfulness of the kids at schools.... They'd be greeting you saying "Good day Sir / Ma'am"
Yes so very true that was something we recognized immediately
When my son was in high school (years ago), his favourite subject was Philosophy and Culture. It opened his eyes to endless possibilities. The private school would invite influential public figures like the National Soccer Coach, Business tycoons to share their journeys, books they read etc. That changed my son’s outlook in life in so many ways. The access and exposure derived from great private schools is priceless.
Wow guys I’m so proud of u as parents for even choosing those languages for kids especially Zulu and they are going to learn it fast and speak it with friends and even teach you guys 🙌🙌🙌

Thank you for this school review. As a retired school administrator, I am very interested in how other cultures educate their children. I led public schools and one charter school and must say that parental involvement and expectations make the biggest difference in a child’s education. Rain and Ricky III will excel anywhere with you two as parents! Kudos!
Thank You for sharing your thoughts and parental observation of Rickey JR & Chrystle.
You're welcome and yes you would be proud of the way things are here for sure! Thank you for the compliment

THANK YOU!!! We South Africans are used to trash talking our own system. I am a South African now living in Australia and I am so surprised how different the schooling is.
Right, you don't know until it's gone!
Repertoire is the word I think you were looking for. Wow!! I need to get to South Africa ASAP
Yes yes yes, that works too! Thank you
I support uniforms for students. Some of the clothes worn by students in the US are just not right.
A chartered school would be more like an equivalent of what we used to call Model C schools. At the beginning of our new regime, previously whites only schools which are still state funded were opened to all the other population groups. Since white people's education was always funded more than for other groups, their education was better than ours. So when things changed most Africans were able to take their children to those schools which are affordable than the private schools and they offer good education.
Nailed it.
I attended Westville Girls' High School, a Model C school in Durban that is a mix of public and private schools. It is one of the best girls' schools in the country.
I just wanna add on the teacher's part, they are really great and caring, one time my niece had to have an operation, the teacher made her classmates to do a cute video for her, wishing her a speedy recovery.. That was so cute, it sure made her feel better 🥺
That is awesome!

Great topic around private schools in South Africa. It's evident that the diverse landscape of education options plays a crucial role in meeting the varied needs of families, with private schools offering autonomy, specialized curricula, and often greater resources, while public schools remain a vital avenue for providing accessible education to a broader spectrum of students.
We also have some bad public schools but we also have some that are quite good.
My boy done was done with us in the 1st week after they closed in December. He was so ready to go back to school. He kept on asking us the when are the schools are opening. Luckily for him they opened this week on the 8th.
hahahahaha right! It's a beautiful thing that the kids enjoy going to school!

Learning Zulu helps them hear many parts of Xhosa, Tswana and Sotho!! and with Afrikaans they can also bridge it to Knowing Dutch, German, French, and English.
Ok ok thank you for this
Yes, unfortunately the schools in the US are lacking. They don't teach phonics like they used to when I was growing up and it has become a real problem with students not being able to read properly or read at all.
True true.
What in America in SA areas like deep rural is where you get kids who can't read
@@sekgabimasobe9690 It's not just in the deep rural areas. It's all over. Children in high school have problems reading. I think it's because of the way they teach nowadays. The took away the old system that wasn't broken and replaced it with something inferior.
Your kids are well-mannered… keep up the good work 👌🏿💯
The experience a private school student has will be hugely different to a public school student from a poor rural area like in the Eastern Cape for instance. The lack of infrastructure (electricity, internet access) , security, adequate teaching staff, lack of technology severely prohibits the learning experience. The difference in the quality of education is massive.
Have you ever been in eastern cape or you hear people talking about it loooool.
@@lulamabidla4374 I live in the Eastern Cape and have done so for decades.
Most South Africans are linguists unlike other African countries where people know their mother language and English or their coloniser language only. Great country ❤❤

That is not true. Other African countries speak both.
I enjoy just hearing the children saying " yes teacher, no teacher". That level of respect is obsolete in the USA.

There is no corporal punishment in SA in both public and private schools. No spanking
Hey. There are some schools that practice it in SA. Even the parents approve. Example the Eastern Cape.
We did hear about these!
@@simangelelekhuleni6467 Which Eastern Cape? because I live there stop spreading lies. You think kids in 2023 will accept corporal punishment when there wasn't any by the time we finished Grade 12 in 2004. Rural Eastern Cape still has pit toilets and other infrastructure challenges but don't spread lies about corporal punishment. Kids have phones, don't be so ignorant and aloof, even in rural parts of the province kids have phones and South African kids don't shy away from knowing and telling you their rights and this generation in particular has no allegiance to the thinking of their parents when it comes to their rights. There is simply no need to lie to be part of a conversation. I have nothing to do with the education sector but casting aspersions on a sector that already has so much to deal with so that you appear like you know something is just an illustration of intellectual dwarfism. What I hate about lies is that they tend to catch fire and stick better than the truth.
In Ntabakulu and Bisho. I have close family members who went to schools in these areas and they used corporal punishment to discipline the students. I am not spreading lies. If you think I am that's fine not going to spend time proving you wrong.
Uhmmmm I stay in Bloemfontein, a city in Free State....Most of the school still uses corporal punishment. some teachers and principals..parents aprove....I aprove.@@luthovellem865

True
OK this is the more expensive schools, not the standard for regular government schools, which don't have any of those things, when you rate a country on their schools it must be on the lowest level not the highest, on how much money can buy
They were rating the school their kids are attending not the country
They are rating what they are exposed to.
True! lol
they said south african schools they did not mention a certain school@@sbanda1909
Religion is also out of our public schools, unfortunately. The contrast between Public and Private schooling in South Africa is astronomical. The only Public schools that are on par and sometimes better than Private Schools are the former "Whites Only" Afrikaans schools.
The rest of the public schooling will be a hit or miss for most. I went to a public school and the pattern is simple, if you're smart you'll always make it, if you're average to below average you may not make it...Where as in Private schools if you're average, they can push you hard to at least "Above Average" or at least just Average at worst.
That's pure lie .. Please don't do this. There are schools that are fully Public Schools that are doing even better some private schools. They are not Afrikaans schools or former Midel C schools. The stats is there actually.
@@zusibone I said a lot of things, which exact part is a lie? Please quote something that I said that is a lie.
There is not such a thing as a 'Whites only' public school in SA. There are a few Afrikaans single medium schools in SA and because there are more non White Afrikaans home language learners in SA than White Afrikaans learners, you will find that these schools are completely multi-racial. There are however a few Afrikaner private schools in SA, as there are Indian schools, Jewish schools and Muslim schools.
@@ChrisTus83bull hoorskool every my friend don't lie.
I think we need to be careful when we say something is affordable here in South Africa in comparison to the United States of America. You need to factor in the exchange rate. Because private school in South Africa is actually very expensive for South Africans, & not really affordable. This type of language makes it even more expensive & very exclusionary because Americans & Europeans who settle here accept these high prices, driving them even further up.
Thank you for sharing. Please let me know the way to pay less, what would you recommend to do so. We would rather pay less however we spoke to what we did pay.
How did you go about getting your Visa etc for being able to live in SA?

From what I've seen about SA is that it's a very progressive society, but it has hard heads, people who refuse to move beyond apartheid.
we only been free for at least 20 years, the remnants and impact that apartheid had are still visible within our society. the wealth gap between black and white is worse as black people who are majority in the country still doesnt have economic freedom...its realy sad and disapointing that South Africans especialy those who where directly and ramnants of apartheid are still leaving with the pain and the loss......a 40 year old can still remember it like it was yesterday. its ohk when u dont share the pain but dont insult people cos its not like they are refusing but everyday scenarios keep on reminding them.....am the first in my family to go to university (am greatful). My parents could not cos the oppotunity was not there. and thats only on education. so please be respectful when talking about the struggle..we come far as a country and we are still trying.
@@mamellomaripa3946it's 30 years since the end of Apartheid, not 20. More White South Africans than not also did not have the opportunity to go to university, because before 1994 education was not free for poor to lower middle class students like it is today. During Apartheid every province had a university for Black students, some provinces had 2. Numerous Black students obtained diplomas and degrees and also postgraduate qualifications up to doctoral degrees then.
@@ChrisTus83 are you really gonna compare middle class white people with black people ?
@@ChrisTus83 black people had low level of education qnd were restricted to study most courses while dealing with poor infustructure for them and being treated inhumane.
Bern beaten and treated like animals with no respect for their life's...racism in all aspects.
The moment u get treated like dirt for no reason mybe u might understand that in this day and age how a black body is still a crime.
Please teach us how do you move beyond apartheid?
why relocate to joburg and not cape town, i mean when people visit SA they go to the cape.
Cape town is a tourist destination not a place for proper integration into SA community. I am Cape Townian myself and I work in Jozi. Jozi is a place for hustling and making money.
Joburg is far more Cosmopolitan and global (inclusive and diverse) while Cape town is very Eurocentric and segregationist. Rich white people and Rich black people share the same spaces and experiences, middle class blacks and middle class whites share the same experiences while Cape Town is what we all know.
They are tired of racism already. Cape Town will bring back US trauma.
Joburg is richer than Cape Town, so it has more opportunities, it is also more diverse and has a better weather and friendly people. Cape Town is nice for a weekend, not to live permanently.
