Evening everyone 😊 quick update 🙏have now done 5 chemotherapy sessions cancer levels are reduced, surgeons are going to meet and decide my future,op or further chemo, watch this space, another great vlog Doug Sunday night entertainment here in the uk😮 go Dodgers 🎉🎉great weeks poker by the way!!
Nice vlog... Nice session.... I was right with u on yearly update till this month(October) this entire month is been running bad! Help 😅... just kidding.
Hey doug, love the content, on the KQ hand, if you were putting him on a hand like J10, why did you decide to jam river? I feel like if you had bet super small, you could maybe entice him to bluff raise? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Once he called the turn bet, I felt that he is more likely to have JT. I originally thought he had top pair because calling 25 bucks from the small blind with JT is dubious.
@@dougmccuskerpoker Got it, so looking back at it in hindsight, do you think you should have bet small on the river and tried to induce a raise? Thank you for the reply!
@ that’s a valid line, I don’t think he was going to make a move. His body language was giving up. I jammed just in case my read was wrong and he had value.
on the AKc hand, you very well may have made the right play vs. a small flopped flush(4 outs against that). if you raise and get shoved on, then what???)
If they shove, I cry and fold. Some players will bet small to entice a raise, I don’t feel this player had that move. I feel treating the small bet as a check is best. Just raise to the size I would have bet if checked to.
12:02 I'd folded KQs pf. This is great example of how these two cards can put you in troubles easily. Why folding a high promising hand?? (might be the argument of many). B/c you heavily depend on flop!!? (this is. a3-bet pot. In which you are not the Aggressor. Remember??).
Doug, why would you ever feel like you should shove over the top with top two pair, when there’s an obvious flush possibility? Anyone holding two diamonds has you beat already, and is certainly going to call. Shoving there (not knowing the outcome on the river) is either going to get a fold by an inferior hand (minimizing your win), or an insta-call with a flush (maximizing your loss…if the river wasn’t a King).
I think raising to deny a cheap draw is best. I don’t think I said shove, if I did, I miss spoke. I would raise to a size I would have bet if checked to.
You may have left some money on the table with that first hand, but it looks like you end up getting it later. I’m so happy you stopped trying to win $5000 a month, it really set you back. I’m looking forward to another visit in 2025. Might combine it with a stop in Reno to visit another vlogger Ben Deach too. And if our gut is correct we can celebrate the market too.
I’m pretty sure that weak bet was not a flush. I believe they made the flush on the river. With that small bet, I should raise to a size equal to the amount I would have bet if checked to.
Depending on how the game flow is, folding is not out of the question. Calling KQ OOP is dangerous. The flop basically trapped him into losing his stack.
Doug : with your first hand AK if I had top 2 pair I would have raise the price against a weak bet. Definitely he doesn’t have a flush with the way he bet and he bet on the turn so quick so obviously he would not have a value hand . Raise the odds and make him pay for his draws on the turn, he had 18% of hitting a one liner flush and raise it up to 60% or 70% pot would be ideal
I would agree, I feel the best line is to pretend he checked, then raise to the same size I would bet if check to. Some tricky players will bet small to entice a raise. I don’t think this player has that move in their arsenal.
AKcc: I don't have a problem with your flop or your turn play. I think you lost value on the river. Villain is likely not calling without at least trips. You might as well go bigger. KQds: I think you may have lost some value on the turn. Kx or JT likely calls a larger bet.
I appreciate the feedback, I think I should have gone bigger. The AK hand, the weak lead is buying a cheap draw from this player type. I think a raise equal to my bet size if check to is best.
Still enjoying your vlog Doug. I noticed over past few videos your standard open at 1-3 is $15, plus extra for limps. And you are often going to flop 3-5 handed. What happens in your game if you move your standard open to $20+limps? Does that still get the desired action but gaining head-up more often?
standard is 5x, then 7x, its hard to determine the number of callers. Sometimes I am playing with many vlog watchers that are determined to make the vlog no matter their hand strength. This week I had 3 limpets and raised to 40, got 4 calls!

I love a game full of limp-folders. Not as big an upside as limp-cllers, but free money
True, free money is available with both extremes.
I didn't screw it up too much - my new line!😅👍
Sometimes I really F it up, lol

It’s a tough fold with the action at this table.
@@dougmccuskerpoker True. It's a table dependant.

My gut will be correct 😀, sooner than many believe. Look forward to your next visit.
The AK 3 diamond board hand that you were upset with, almost certainly you were beat no?
I’m pretty sure that weak bet was not a flush. I believe they made the flush on the river. With that small bet, I should raise to a size equal to the amount I would have bet if checked to.
@@dougmccuskerpoker I assumed they had the flush since the Kd came on the river. Could have been something like AxQd AxJd as well though.
As always a great poker content Doug.. keep grinding!
Thanks! Will do!
Excellent content yes doug should be winning more money$$$$$ there must be a reason
I don’t play a lot of hours, 12-15/week.
Nice week.
Thanks!
To be honest with KQ suited I would not call preflop. With that against a three bet(top of the range) out of position is in a very bad shape
Depending on how the game flow is, folding is not out of the question. Calling KQ OOP is dangerous. The flop basically trapped him into losing his stack.
Thought the run good was good but you played well too
Thanks, it is easier to play well when the deck hits you.
The AK hand , you really missed a lot of value on the turn , I don’t get the check 😂

‘crying call’ needs to be removed from all vlogs, doesn’t sound good
a poor action cannot sound good, can it. And, if the name of a poor action is "crying call" then why not name it.
Thanks for the feedback, I will keep it in mind
