    5:50 After the turn I think I would have checked just in fear of being reraised and not being able to call and realize the equity of the nut flush. I like your play a lot more.....I think I play a bit too fearful.
    Nice wins.

      Playing tight and being aggressive gives you a chance to win pots without actually making a hand. This type of play prints money in the long run.

    • @pot_kivach160
      @pot_kivach160 3 місяці тому

      it helps when you READ opponent's hand strength. A lot! Playing tight and aggressive can bring you a grievance only. Three ways: a) *annoyance*: waiting too long to have something playable b) *disappointments*: when finally you have a made hand, nobody cares. c) *frustration*: when finally have a playable hand, someone puts max aggression on you; just to learn you ran into a stronger monster! Or being bluffed by a strong player who reads you playing tight and aggressive only!

    Hi Doug. As we all seem to do, we 'overvalue' AK... I think that sometimes (especially when you are up against a 'nit') you should just call
    and see if your AK hits the flop. Having AK is not a license to shove on a 'short' stack... What do you think????

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  8 місяців тому

      The deciding factor was the dead money from the other 2 players, makes a shove the best play IMO. Heads up, call would be standard.

I feel he made 2 errors on that hand. 1 his preflop raise was too small and 2. Betting pot on such a wet board leads to trouble. I think calling my jam was only slightly -ev.

      that makes sense. If you're card dead for a long, then you finally get something playable and continue losing/being outdrown - then a garbage hand always (96%) does! Try it.
