I don't get the haters on this one. Goodwill is a valuable asset and is worth a great deal of future income. A lot of companies screw up their goodwill for the short term profit and end up regretting it. (see Dungeons and Dragons for current example).
It was an inexpensive investment that will pay dividends as long as it is maintained.

I’ve been a Ethan fan since Boston Billiards so I know how aggressive/punting Ethan can be. It sucks for the initial buyin investors if the win is only shared to the last buyin investors because Ethan is more inclined to punt more on the first buyins. I would personally like to stake his 2nd and 3rd bullets but never the first punting bullet. What I really believe is the win should be proportionally split to all bullets, in this instance first bullet investors get their returns based on half of your win, as all bullets contributed to your presence at the tourney.

    • @viaje21
      @viaje21 Рік тому +8

@@jerryhan7533 I agree. This is why I could never stake someone in a rebuy tournament without "share dilution". That first bullet is a "cheaper bullet" so the player may be more reckless with that money vs if they put up all 100%. I'd only be interested in staking the player for the tournament, not individual buy-ins.

if you know someone is deliberately punting your money then playing a much more risk averse style with their own money once they've torched yours, would you ever back them again? Pretty sure any reasonable person would answer no to that question which begs the question of your motivation in doing so. I feel like refunding anyone who did buy action is pretty much mandatory in your situation since you're essentially using the fans to free roll yourself despite having a bankroll big enough to deal with the swings of 5 figure tournaments.

    - That's not true. There doesn't exist a GTO spot in poker where you have more bluffs than value(on the river obv)
The reason for that is, no matter how big you bet the opponent will ALWAYS have better odds than 50% to call.
If you bet 1000000x pot, the opponent will get the odds 49,999999% on a call.
So if someone bluff 50% or more on the river, you call ALL your bluffcatchers.
Betting full potsize = 66,67% value and 33,33% bluffs
    Betting 200% potsize = 60% value and 40% bluffs

Ugh that 86 call was rough. I honestly feel like when people overbet the pot like that and "polarize" themselves it's actually weighted a lot more towards value. I know it's MEANT to be more weighted towards bluffs and/or looking like you're "trying to buy it" but because SO MANY people do this, it's actually become (imo) more of a value play.
I also don't really agree that 86 is a good bluff catcher there. Kx would be - Kx with no spade, no club would be a great one. But I think you've got too little invested in the hand and too marginal of a spot to make that call.
But hey, you have 1 million profit in poker last year and I have nothing so honestly wtf do I know.

So I started watching your Vlog because you were fun, but reckless I thought. Then suddenly I started hearing about "Rampage" and I thought Hey that looks like the guy in the Vlog. His name is "Rampage"? Anyway, I started seeing you on tables with big poker heavies, and there YOU are with your pearly white teeth. So now here you are a winner!! I'm having a "I knew you when" moment. Cheering you on from Grand Prairie, Texas. I think I'd beat you at Pot Limit Omaha, by the way.

Not sure if you misspoke when talking about Taylor’s over bet with QJ against your 86, but over bet doesn’t mean you have more bluffs than value combos, your percentage of bluffs should equal your opponents pot odds if you’re talking about GTO, which means you should never have more bluff than value combos because in no scenario in Texas HOLDEM will your opponent will be getting better than 1-1 and I’m not one for correcting people but I want more people to play the game and don’t want some newb hearing that and going fucking bonkers playing like a lunatic and after inevitably getting destroyed doing that and end up quitting

Love the KQ fold. Think the J8 jam might be a bit ambitious, ICM isn’t as relevant 3 handed as say 6-9 handed, especially with the structure of the payjumps.

Congrats. IDK why you think folding is boring. Do you think Ivey or Dnegs worry about being "boring" when they make a soul read and a hero fold? It doesn't take much skill to play "no fold'em hold'em", just a very large bankroll.

Only mistake in analysis I think is around 27:30 mark. He says his 10 is pretty good against most other kickers. In actuality, your 10 is only good against a 7,8,9 kicker. You tie a 10, so about 2/3 of the deck (kicker wise) wins.
That being said it’s great analysis.

Yesterday i almost got heart attack holding AJx on Ax4x4x in a cash game . Shorty shoves pre 20 blinds i cry call cause i had feeling shorty could be quite strong i probably should fold to him but whatever. For my surprise one more player behind me called 60 BBs in a pot .On the flop overcalling player decided to bluff jam QJo for the pot size bet and his remaining stack i snapped and after i saw his hand i was almost sure im going to win but his 2 % somehow got there hitting two perfect cards for broadway . Seriously this hand drastically changed my pulse and i had to immedietely leave the table. The worst feeling in a world being such a favorite just waiting for the chips to go your way and still lose it. Im getting too old for this poker thing.

In this stage , i mean the bubble you need a lot of luck.. you were behind like 3-4 times and managed to win , the poker gods helped you a lot , well i assume it wasn't only luck , 107 high roller players 25 k buy in.. you had to play against the sharks.
Very nice content , congratulations .

Horrible play just very lucky - only hand you got your money in the middle while actually being ahead was KJ vs QJ lol. You would get crushed at most 25k+ buyin tourneys.

I just lost my 28k in a slot machine. I would find Vegas Matt at Casino, roll him the parking lot for 33k. Call my wife and tell her I just won 5 grand and let's go get a nice dinner and buy her some lingerie and then go to bone Town. Sorry for the inconvenience Vegas Matt. Get well soon

Side note: I do have a problem with players who sell action, but it's only applicable for the first bullet. If someone is staking you to play in a tourney and it takes you multiple bullets, they should get a percentage of all your action, even if it is a decreased percentage due to a second bullet. If they have 10% of you at $25k, then they should get 5% of you at $50k. At a minimum, you should offer them a second chance to stake you on the second bullet. My two cents.
