You've done a great job compiling this list and it's a good starting point for anyone who isn't familiar with the Amstrad CPC and wants to try some of the 'modern' games for the machine. The quality of some new releases, particularly in the last two or three years, has been amazing. I'm not really sure why the titles of the top 10 games aren't displayed on the screen, though? Inevitably I have to disagree with the rankings of some of the games. BB4CPC, Betiled! and Galactic Tomb should have been higher in my opinion - and no sign of Imperial Mahjong (with its unique graphics mode) or Doomsday Lost Echoes?! Shame! ;-) Orion Prime is a deserving winner; I helped to translate the game to English, and I'm very proud of that. :-) As for The Sword of Ianna, erm... that ain't CPC music I'm hearing LOL! I'm finding it difficult to compile my own rankings, but my own top 10 ranking of 'modern' CPC games would probably be: 1. Orion Prime 2. Imperial Mahjong 3. Pinball Dreams 4. Dead on Time 5. BeTiled! 6. Baba's Palace 7. Dragon Attack 8. Galactic Tomb 9. BB4CPC 10. Megablasters: Escape from Castle in the Clouds
Thanks for stopping to let me know your thoughts 👍🏻 apologies, what do you mean by “displayed on the screen”? I love all those games you mentioned including Imperial Mahjong and played the heck out of Doomsday lost Echos, but the game’s I’ve included are genuinely the games I’ve played the most on the Amstrad. That doesn’t mean I don’t recognise the others are great also. I think your top ten list is great! Very impressed that you worked on Orion Prime, you must be really proud. What an experience!
@@ClassicReplay The games from 40-11 have their titles and the year of release displayed at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds, whereas the top 10 games don't - but most of them display their title on the loading screen anyway. _Imperial Mahjong_ is perhaps not a game you can pick up and play straight away if you've never played mahjong solitaire before, but once you get the hang of it, it's really addictive. I think translating _Orion Prime_ took me nearly 9 months on and off (real life got in the way too much), but the result was well worth it in the end.

Thank you! Cheers!
Thx for the effort! I'm an Eastern Europe Speccy clone owner and the Amstrad CPC is better than any 8 bit machine out there except for the sound. The C64 has that shitty color scheme otherwise it will take the 1st place from the CPC!
You can plug in stereo speakers, makes a big difference. Thanks for watching 👍
The sound is a matter of personal taste. I personally find the c-64's muffled, mono sound horrible.
Yep, can’t argue against personal taste. I’m impressed with what’s coming out for all 8bits these days. What I’m finding is that the ZX Spectrum and C64 were pushed pretty well back in the day, so we’re not really seeing anything new in the look and feel of these systems, but maybe more innovative ideas. Where’s on the Amstrad, we’re seeing things we previously thought weren’t possible. So exciting times for all 8bits really.
@@ClassicReplay You're trying not to take sides on this, for obvious reasons, but I'll say it: it's even more exciting for us CPC fans. 😁
Our system of choice, finally being done justice.
Vespertino can't come soon enough.
I just think every system offers something different. Vespertino will be the Amstrad’s Travel Through Time, maybe better 👍
What is the title of No.5 the great shoot em up?
No. 5 is Sword of Ianna
@@ClassicReplay sorry I meant no.6
Red Sunset
@@ClassicReplay bless your heart, Thankyou+++++

hmm, nope, the CPC still sucks as a games machine
Okay mate! Thanks for letting us all know 👍 cheers
nope when you actually know it
What a disrespectful thing to say to all the authors of these games you probably never even bothered to play, miserable git.
Better be unborn than untaught, for ignorance is the root of misfortune 🤦🏻♂️
Click and play 😂 I swapped my cpc464 and master system for a megadrive at my local video game shop when they did the Sonic pack in promotion.such great memories of the mid 1980's
I swapped mine for a Megadrive as well. Strider, Altered Beast, you name it, all amazing on console.
