I love the GBA, but I love Outrun on the GBA just as much. In fact I take the GBA and Outrun everywhere with me, especially when travelling away from home or for work trips. I rarely play the other Sega Arcade Gallery Games, but they do provide a challenge, especially Super Hang On. Enjoy this nostalgic trip. #Outrun #Sega #gba

Dangerous, Spooky PS1 games make up a huge staple of the PlayStation library. These are my best picks from the games I owned and played. I think it's testament to the PS1 that it still shows, with the lights out, no matter the dated graphics... Games can still be a little bit scary. There’s something about PS1 graphics that can make you jump even today. I will do this for other consoles and com...
The 10 Most Forgotten Amstrad Games!
Переглядів 1,3 тис.9 місяців тому
The Amstrad CPC was my first home computer. I had the Amsoft ten pack that came with £100 worth of free software. It felt like a great time to be alive and I played those Amsoft titles until they refused to load. Later I discovered that you could pretty much walk into any supermarket or retail store and buy additional games. One problem, pocket money was rare back then, so that meant I could lo...

The 30 Greatest Arcade Games of the ZX Spectrum - Ranked!
Sourcery!
3:00 FEUD - I spent my of today hacking this game, I managed to get invincibility but so did my nemesis :)))) Tomorrow I'll do it right. Exolon clearly isn't perfect, ZX version is much better. Too bad you neglected "Rogue Trooper" it just shines on Amstrad CPC leaving ZX and C64 versions far behind. Thanatos is also the best on CPC. Tau Ceti is amazing and would be the best if it were not for its sluggishness on the stock CPC, good thing we have emulators that allow us set 125% speed (or more).
Nice work.your intel is almost perfect. It was a proper mission impossible - so were we lucky or brilliant?
The guys who worked on bringing the Amstrad CPC to fruition were nothing short of remarkable. I would say genius, not luck.
But the sound is so bad. SID wins.
Jog on 🤦🏻♂️
Nice. What frontend are you using?
Just Google Legends Ultimate
This is pretty much my perfect list as well!
Cheers my friend 👍🏻
What are you playing all these games on??? I need to know!!!
Just Google Legends Ultimate
The Coleco Vision does not live up to all it's hype, it does not Blow Away the Intellivision, Donkey Kong was your typical poor quality home version of the arcade version, only 3 boards and no cut scenes and the control is horrible, it's sloppy and un responsive and Mario moves up ladders too slowly unless you double top up or down on the controller and Mario doesn't even spin when he dies and when you clear a board it just jumps to the next board, no high can you get screen and even the Adam Version still has the horrible control problem if not even worse, also the music is not accurate, it has no gaps between the notes. The Music is not as good as Intellivision because it is tiny and lacks BASS. Mr. Do plays the wrong Music and he throws a dot and not a ball and it's too choppy and the enemies kill you too easily and Digger that was a home brew conversion of the PC version was a better Mr. Do than the offical Mr. DO on Coleoco Vision. Frogger just keeps playing the same main tune over and over again and never plays any different songs. Omega Race is Not just like the Arcade, it's Not Vector style graphics and they added stuff not in the arcade, the Intellivision Home Brew replicated the Vector Style Graphics and the Sound Effects and Music are almost perfectly Spot On to the Arcade version. Miner 2049er 's timer is too fast so it's hard to clear boards beyond the first one. The Intellivision Home Brew is better because it's easier and has better control. Tutankham Arcade by Champ Games for the Atari VCS is better than the Coleco Vision version and so is Mappy Arcade by Champ Games because it has the bonus rounds and looks and sounds just like the Arcade Version. Most of the games don't have smooth scrolling like Zaxxon and Cosmic Avenger and Zaxxon does not look like the Arcade, the Fuel Tanks don't look anything like the Arcade Version and neither does the Zaxxon Robot. Coleco Vision still has flicker like the Atari VCS and only had 16 colors. The Controllers are even worse than the Intellivision Controllers. It's still a good system and definitly better than the VCS but so is any other system that came after the VCS. Mouse Trap is Awesome, with good music and graphics, so is Pepper 2 and Spy Hunter is good and easier than the Arcade Version and has surprisingly good music. GORF Is good too even if it's missing Galaxians and the voice because the Music makes up for the lack of voice. Lady Bug is good but the you get stuck trying to round corners is worse than the Intellivision version but the Graphics are better on Coleco Vision. Jump Man Jr. is good but the C64 has better music. but not as good graphics.
We will have to agree to disagree. I’m planning an intellivision video soon 😉
Great video and nice CPC games
Glad you like them!
If Coleco had a mascot who would it be
Cabbage Patch kids 🤣
What are you playing that on
Collectorvision Phoenix 👍🏻
I played That for hours
Amazing console to have owned back then...
I Loved Bounty Bob
I played it on the Amstrad, very good game.
I Need To Get 1
My Fav Console Ever I Loved Mine
If I could go back and buy one, this is the Console I'd have purchased.
Nice video man. We love Roland!
Very good presentation including the graphics and I can read the text pictures on my laptop!
Thank you ☺️
Batman the Movie. Best game I ever saw on the Amstrad. I remember seeing this as a kid and thinking it was impossible to make any game look that good.
The cathedral level is exceptional. How did they make it look so good ❤️
I think virtual racing only ran at about 15-20 FPS.
This probably sounds daft, but back in the day I didn’t really notice until people started pointing things out to me. The first real time I realised it was a major problem was when I played Sega Rally 2 in the arcade and then the same week played Sega Rally 2 on the DC. I couldn’t believe the difference
Thanks for really making this system and its library come alive for me. As someone with no connection at all to this side of the 8-bit sphere, your enthusiasm genuinely gets me hyped to jump in to a system I would have hardly known about. This is what youtube is for - great channels for passionate gamers.
Thanks for sharing this feedback. That’s my aim, to reach people that had never heard about these wonderful 8bits. I sit there sometimes watching vids about computers I’ve never heard of. I can also literally sit there for hours if I’m not careful and watch people restoring old consoles and computers. UA-cam from that perspective is amazing. Please spread the word and share this vid with other like minded retro enthusiasts ❤️
Really great list. Only thing I can think of missing a mention is Midnight Resistance.
You know, I thought that was in there. One of my favourites for sure. In fact I completed it recently on the ZX Spectrum for the first time in 2 decades and it felt great. Thanks ☺️
I’d add Way of the Exploding Fist, 3D Deathchase, ATF and Ping Pong to this.
All quality games there. I could never work out what to do in ATF, everything came at you so quickly and by the time I was ready to fire a missile the target had passed me by. Still great times had trying though. Ping Pong is one of the best, hardly ever gets the credit, but it’s a great challenge. Thanks
Looking the initial screen, I agree wonen should be given the opportunity to drive and not only be expectator in next OutRun. Maybe a "Flower attack mode" where Alberto requests tasks to the girl and gives her flowers as she completes them.
Tomb raider !!!
La abadía del crimen!! Better game of all games.
I'd say it was better than the equivalent mainstream efforts. The story and well thought out game design was brilliant.
No Manic Miner? I'll see you down by the bike sheds after school mate 🤛😂
Jet Set Willy for me, but yes, Manic Miner is a classic.
The footage is funny. Booty looks like me the first time i tried it and had no idea how the game worked 😂 hope you had never tried it before too! Mario Bros was good too, looked like me playing it for the first time as a 7 year old 😂 Great video ❤
Is that a hint of sarcasm I detect 😉 We can't be great at every game. I hope you're not claiming such a thing.
Spectrum does have a homebrew GTA clone, cant recall the name though.
Let me know I will play it and review.
The good thing about Amstrad is that its not drowned under a million MkII games like Speccy
Not today, but once upon a time it was side swiped with Speccy ports.
Modern Amstrad games are really showing the power of the machine. Some great stuff being released. Great to see the updates at the end that show how much more the system could do than bad Spectrum ports.
It was a step up when programmed correctly. Sadly in some cases it was just seen as a quick and dirty extension to sell already existing/written Speccy code.
I loved Rainbow Islands as a kid. I played all home versions recently and apart from the TGCD arcade perfect one, i genuinely think Spectrum was the best home port of the game. What a great game.
I personally preferred the Amstrad and Amiga conversions and Master System from memory. But yes, Speccy version is class 👍🏻
Whats the game in the bottom left of the opening? Is there any other system where an all time top 50 would have such a high % of homebrew? Genuinely i would probably have about 40 homebrew at least.
We live in a world with such great homebrew that the games of Noentiendo get no attention despite the awesome Gandalf, Manic Pietro & Get Out of Mars being up there with the best games in each of the three genres.
Homebrew has Mighty Final Fight as a better beat em up, Rubinho Curacho as the best driving game ever, Gandalf as the best platformer, Manic Pietro the best Manic platformer. Cousin Horace the best umm, adventure? (Hard to classify Cousin Horace lol)
You've got some games I've never played in this video though, will have to check them out thanks!
Wow the Turtle game looks great.
Mission accomplished ;-)
How could you forget "MAZIACS"!!!!
Ah the nostalgia...back when games were original, playable, fun, affordable and made by people who cared.
2.
"I've personally played this game for over 3 decades..." - you must be tired! 🥵
No way, I’m just getting started
Deflector is used in gta online as security passes.
The Coleco system never had it's chance to reach it's pinnacle like the NES did with "Super Mario 3." I believe it was overpowered for what it could do and could have easily overtaken the Atari 2600 and possibly even the early days of the NES. So sad to think it never had it's chance. I mean, the damn thing was so advanced, it had cross compatibility with the Atari!
Awesome
Awesome
I'm not a big ColecoVision fan. Believe me, I've tried to give it a fair shake (and even made a game for it, Whack 'Em Smack 'Em Byrons), but it falls far short of its promise of arcade perfect ports more often than not. Yet people still fall for the marketing hype forty years after the fact... GORF, arcade perfect on ColecoVision? Silly music, wrong colors, weird character movement, and inaccurate graphics do not an arcade perfect port of GORF make. The AtariSoft games were typically pretty good, though. I'm an Atari 5200 fan (one of six, apparently...) but the ColecoVision version of Galaxian BURIES its 5200 counterpart.
Nes was great.. Pc Engine was also outstanding..
Welcome to Turrican ahahahhahah
Great list but I personally think Target Renegade was a much better game than Renegade. Also a couple of games I loved on the spectrum that never seem to get mentioned by anyone are "Striker" by cult games and "new wheels John" by Automata. Played both of those to death
I think I know what you mean about Target Renegade. Back in the day I was just over the moon to have owned two great beat ‘em ups.
Pud Pud - Joffa Smiths first Speccy game. His wacky humour and imagination was already apparent. Frankie really was a weird game. Totally bizarre and different. Deus Ex Machina - was it the first 'interactive experience?'. Not really a game but a bit of an experience.
Hahahahahahahaha!!! That might be the most laughably uninformed video title, ever. Thanks... Long day...
The OG PlayStation sold more units than _every_ Atari console, every non-portable/handheld _Nintendo_ console, every SEGA console, and every X-Box console, ever. ColecoVision sold _maybe 2_ million units to Atari 2600’s 30 million - and the NES doubled what the 2600 sold, albeit in the late ‘80s, after Atari had solidified home gaming as a legitimate market of its own... It did sell 2/3 of what the Intellivision did, though...
Double Dragon is a horrible recommendation, its full of slowdown…
i would disagree with you about donkey kong playing like the arcade since all screens have modifications such as missing girders on the barrel and rivet levels and no "I-beams" on the elevator level along with the missing conveyor belt level
You missed medal of honor underground
Did I ☺️ one of the best PS1 games without fail. Question would be does it still hold up today
I dont know about the UK, but no-one in the united states, including nintendo of america in redmond washington, knows where or how to view hamster/arcade archives "online world record leaderboards". ive been to Hamsters website, full of Engrish, and there is nothing in the menu directing to any high scores or leaderboards. but yet when your done playing an arcade archive game, a prompt asks you if you want to submit the score. I guess they get locked away in the cloud, because no one knows where this supposed leaderboard is.
