Gordon Ramsay hunts for Crayfish off the coast of Tasmania. Have you ever hunted for crayfish?
isn't this Spiny lobster and not Crayfish?
my brothers and uncles have, but I haven't done it yet. good idea though, thanks for inspiration.
who were the filmmakers who captured in Tasmania, it'd be great to watch a longer video from them!!!
Yeah I feed it to the cat!
You know they like mini size Aliens right
I love the show, but really, I'm totally against of hunting and killing anything. I think there is plenty of natural food we have over there.
The thumbnail looks like Gordon Ramsay is sitting down and having a heart to heart with Gordon Ramsay.
Yes it does 😂😂
Even in the video Gordon Ramsey looks like he is having a bro moment with Gordon Ramsey.
He would be so lucky
Lmaoaoaoa
Lol
Being the one of the few comment here... I want to use this time to thank national geographic for making our childhood awesome
You just want a heart lol
I second that comment
😛 yes a Large Thank you .
You said it! 👍
Amen to that
Agreed i watched National geographic all the time in the late 80s early 90s..I'm not so sure about some of their programming now though.Seems like their trying to insulate people from the real brutality of nature..
I saw two Gordons in the thumbnail
YeH XD
Those are two different people
Omg
Bruh I legit thought the right one was Gordon until I looked again
I didn't know which one was him but I knew one of them was 😂
Me, an American: “Odd way to fish for crayfish. They’re way to small for that.”
See’s the monster he pulls out: “I stand corrected.”
We aren’t in America my fellow American, this is Australia.
@@kadensmith3894 Is this a normal sized crawfish for Australia? That's pretty cool
@@sajid7039 I don’t have a clue I’m from America.
@@sajid7039 Yup. They're called and sold as Rock Lobsters here given the size.
Thats Tasmania for you much better then the mainland 🙄

I live in Tasmania, very proud to see our island featured!
Tasmania is truly an amazing island! Thanks for watching.
You know I just watched the show, tasmania ep..love gorden show casing different food and culture love it.. but one thing kinda stick out to me was not one native aborigine in sight why is that.. I see lots of gates wonder who you trying to keep out.. they keep saying the natives uses this and that, but would of love see one native.. at least the NZ ep.. had little bit of all culture and native people..
kimo sylvester there is not a single 100% aboriginal left in Tasmania unfortunately Tasmania doesn’t have the best history in the world but still a beautiful place.
@@TheRampagebunny .. that's very unfortunate imma learn the history behind that.. hopefully they have a plaque or a monument on what happened... unlike pearl harbor non of the local native who worked on the base during Japanese bombing don't have anything to remember them...sad...
Tassie is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. If you love fishing, diving camping look no further.
he just looks like Gordon 10 years younger

Really enjoying seeing Gordon being authentic and at peace. Seeing the passion from him, it's amazing. I've been blown away from this series, so many different places and people. Wow.
2:04 Enough for 6? I like how chefs always think you only eat 15g of protein in a meal.
Hopefully those chefs mean that it serves 6 as part of a 12 course menu where you get lots of small dishes, it's amazing how little they think people eat.
He's thinking of restaurant
Seriously, when i see it.... I immediately know that i will need a second lobster
u have to think... 3 michelin star plating. petite portions
@@marcusduck Yeah but why? What's the rationale behind the plating? Its to rip you off. I'd be more happy to be charged more for a normal portion rather than my time wasted having to order additional dishes.
"Enough for 6 people"
Me: takes one bite*. "Yes gordon. Im simply stuffed"
1:51 "it always tastes better when you earn it" one envy I'll always hold against hunters and fishermen
What’s stopping you?
You know outsides just over there right
get a fishing rod, reel and lure , .. go to your nearest fishing spot then voila ..

Looks like a lobster to me.

Gordon throwing in a casual 'mate' into his sentences. He is adapting!
Other than everything you can learn from ramsay. The best thing he shows in every single show i have ever seen his face in. Is PASSION! This human being has such passion that i have not seen before in my life
LOVE these kind of videos of HUNTING AND COOKING!
Enjoyed Your Video. Thank you National Geographic.
We're glad you enjoyed. We love being your portal to the world...and beyond!
Never knew crayfish got so big. I'd think it was a lobster. Looks delicious.
Its raw
That's pretty cray-cray
I see what you did there... lol
@Shamsulazhar “cray-cray” Crayfish 👍 😂
@@HeyMJ. isn't it a lobster tho? I thought crayfish were more in land in streams? I think... maybe.. 🤔
Crazy when famous people come to this small island, gives me tingles
Now this, is epic
I never had this before. I always like my first time to be great! In everything I do. Why I love sushi, caviar and Champagne. Beautiful! ♡
Grew up as a kid (I'm 63 now) catching and eating crays (and Abalone) at the beach in Western Australia..., many many years before they became popular restuarant items..., in fact we use to buy a cray tail to use as bait to catch Herring (Tommy rough in the eastern states)
Catch one for lunch, light a fire on the beach, throw the cray into some sea water...., yummm.
I’ll be over there eventually in my show. I can’t wait to find as many species as I can in Tasmania
Amazing video ! Under water world is really AMAZING !
We couldn't agree more! What was your favorite part of this video?
This is why I love tassie, diving, fishing, camping 👌
Oh dear.. that looks amazingly mouthwatering 🤤🤤🤤
This reminds me too much of Anthony Bourdain. He’s irreplaceable.
Anthony had more of an edge than Gordon.
Very true, Anthony was one of kind very honest, and thoughtful when he explained a culture's and there true histories, the good, the bad even the dark history.. real culture education everytime I watch his show.. He even tries to speak the languages...
I remember hearing about when he was in the state a while back so it's nice to finally get to see the videos.
This was made 6 hours ago an someone is gonna watch this 7 years later like all the other videos like this dam
"best for your travels, cant wait to catch you in the end"
What an excellent fishermans goodbye. Loved that
I live vicariously through Gordon Ramsey.
I live in Launceston, Tasmania - awesome island we have down here
That looks incredible!
Good One! thanks for the advanced method of Fish hunting in fresh water.
Wow so amazing
one of my favorite channel natgeo💓
Samehere
I'm still amazed at the size of that crayfish! I'd love to see Chef Ramsay use the ingredients he forged for during the natgeo uncharted's during MasterChef seasons.. if there is any more..
Watching from PHILIPPINES
If Gordon Ramsey wants to go scuba diving, he just brings a camera and it pays for itself.
What is the dif between a large cray and a saltwater lobster?
Lobster is sweeter, and cray is little more rubber like texture.
One's Aussie and the other one isn't?
Lobsters have the large front claws, crayfish don't
Crayfish are found in freshwater, lobster in salt. Although they keep referring to it as a crayfish it’s really a lobster
tysonic777 yeah. We DO have actual crayfish though
In fact, they’re larger than our “crayfish”
1:48 who else realize on this point that's not Gordon who's cutting the sashimi lol
Yes in the swamps/bayous in La.
The freshest Crayfish Gordon will ever eat
Lovely experience Gordon.
beautiful Tasmania oceans
shellfish tail with aioli lime on a piece of burnt sour-dough bread is like the best thing ever.
I literally ordered lobster and Crawfish for dinner after watching this scene. So good.
I live here and I must say getting one from ya doorstep is a beautiful thing I wouldn't live anywhere else
I love how he kisses everything he catches in these videos
yeah, he even kissed an octopus lol
Kisses cactus
Omg it looks like a lobster on steroids
@Tilapia Aquaponics dummy use reading comprehension...I said look like not that they are...you just wanted to make a comment so bad didnt you? LOLOOL
Crayfish be like: My time has come.
Gordon saying mate is so strange for me
omg, its perfect))))
As someone from Tassie this is cool
He has a good comand on narrative
‘Mate’ good form
Amazing 😍😍😍😍
0:53 i never knew clapping underwater makes a sound... apparently the sound effect guy doesnt either
For a moment, I thought there was two Gordon Ramsay in the thumbnail
Having been to Tassi, I can tell you that you have to look no further than the road side for some "fresh" wallaby
This is better than any other poetry
I really want to visit Tasmania someday.
Good job ramsey ❤
Talking about Surf n Turf with Wallaby n Crayfish ; meanwhile I'm trying to decide on Beef-a-roni or Ravioli
Here in Canada, Ontario we get Less than hand size Cray fish. These things are huge!!
great content showe
If that's the size of their crayfish down there, I hate to see the size of their lobsters, they probably hunt YOU!
Pretty sure it’s just what Europeans call lobsters
CheezusCrust lobsters have claws that thing would’ve snapped all his fingers off if he attempted to grab it like that lobsters you catch in a net
@@thechoosenone9847
I just noticed that it doesn't have claws. Doh😲
Thechoosenone 984 nah I’ve dove for lobsters and caught them like that
Thechoosenone 984 just gotta grab it by the abdomen and they can’t get to ya

"That Crayfish is like the Rolls Royce of the sea" translates to .. "If I sold this in one if my Restaurants, I could sell it for an extortionate price" ..
the way he said it was super firm, you know if this was masterchef he would have spit out the food
Nice Video! Would love to try.....
The only show where he approves of the food the first time around
"Crawfish" LMAO 😂😂
I could totally see Gordon Ramsay being a nature reporter
It's one thing to order lobster at a fancy restaurant... It's another to catch it and cook it on the beach. Yum!!! 😍
First of all...I have never seen a crayfish that big!!
Its lobster bro,its a English thing.
That’s no crawfish living in southeast Texas 19 miles from the LA border crawfish do not get that size. That’s just a lobster.
Crayfish and crawfish are not the same thing... in Australia/tassie we have crayfish
@@andrewlang9485 crayfish and crawfish are the same thing. What Gordon caught was a spiny lobster
@@kevinbaboolal4225 and in Australia they are called crayfish, its not hard to understand that in different places there are different names for things. closest thing to crawfish in Australia are Yabbies or Marron
Smokin on that crayfish pack
Covid wreaking havoc upstairs, so Gordon decides to seek some more downstairs
Ive caught these and they are honestly the best tasting crays in the world
What Stardew Valley taught me, just put crab pot in the edge of water and you'll get plenty by tomorrow..
weve been waiting for sir gordon ramsay to visit or country to cook🇵🇭🇵🇭
Crayfish?? That was that freaking spider thing from Alien.
right mate!
“There’s enough for 6 there” explains Gordon after spending 30 years serving tiny dishes of food for a small fortune.
1:07 Gordon Ramsay kissing his victim before devouring it.
Aotearoa New Zealand is pure with our sea food kai here its beautiful
My God… I used to catch crayfish in a lake in Germany when I was a kid and keep them as pets. They were tiny, maybe 20cm max. I can’t believe how big these guys are! Look delicious too 🤤
You were catching crayfishes, Gordon here was catching a spiny lobster which Australians and Tasmanians call ‘’crayfish’’.
Good
i need that crayfish more than it needs me
That's the biggest crayfish I have ever seen. Invite me to eat this with you. lol. Amazon, car hop trays.
That's a lobster without the claws.
yes, rock lobsters are commonly referred to as crayfish in Australia. The Western, Eastern, Southern and Tropical rock lobsters all look more or less the same as this (with varying colours) but all are devoid of front claws, and all are commonly referred to as 'crayfish' even though they're technically not.
who else stuck in a loop of keep watching Gordon goes hunting animals and eating them now ?
Hardwork: DONE
"Welcome to Tasmania, our crayfish are larger than your lobsters".
Looks so yummy but here in California we call those lobsters. Crayfish are a whole lot smaller and found in fresh water.
Now watching from Phils ☺️
Tasmanian cray is awesome
