So is this the newest stupid meme that people are going to be doing on every Ramsay video? For years it was the obnoxious Nino thing, lamb sauce and Raw comments I had to see.
Yep. Smart lady your Mother. Whether on a boat or on the rocks, you always keep your eye on the sea. She's a tricky & unpredictable lady who's totally unforgiving & without remorse. She chews up idiots & spits them away as if they were nothing. Best to just stay away unless you're with someone who really knows what they're doing. We get many rock fishing accidents & deaths in my country, mostly people with little to no experience who've done no research & go by themselves instead of with someone with experience & local knowledge. NEVER go by yourself.
Oh wow ! I genuinely wondered for a minute why they were having a conversation about pig rearing by the ocean…. Thanks closed captioning it made for a very funny watch.
(As an American who has eaten at the “F” Word) I was so excited to record and share with my Portuguese husband (Pedro de Carvalho) my favorite chef’s trip to Portugal. OMG, my husband was so upset that I ended up apologizing during most of the episode and watching the rest by myself. Why visit a German pig farmer that now is in Portugal? Why stay with mostly seafood when Portugal has many other options? Why show the wonderful Portugal wine and dessert when you don’t even mention it at the conclusion of the show? Portugal has so many other great tastes and I hope you visit again and take time to see more “Portuguese” places of food, cheese, wine and other GREAT food!
Portugal also has a reputation among us surfers, the best waves but the most dangerous. Where gordon is now we refer to as "a devils kettle" and it's not a place you want to be
I grew up with the cold and rough pacific ocean, but one look at those rocks and the violent surf has me terrified. "Never turn your back on the ocean." is some very familiar advice...
Richie, foi proprietário da POCEAN e nosso professor de surf em Ribeira d'Ilhas. O conhecimento dele do mar lusitano e, principalmente, das ondas do Atlântico fez dele um especialista em Percebes. Good job Richie!
The funny thing is these grow everywhere where I live and no-one eats them. They are gaining more popularity at seafood restaurants but yeah you can just go anywhere at low tide and fill a bag in 20 minutes.
@@healtheworldforabetterplace I pictured Gordon Ramsay and the production crew relaxing, drinking some beers and eating barnacles in some family owned business. Some random local joins them, hoping to get free beer, and proceeds to convince them he's this barnacle expert, with a secret harvesting location. Suddenly, they're all taking part in a "once in a lifetime experience" . XD
The funny fact that it is 100€ a kilo, but for people who live here and if you know the right guy you can get it for like 15€ or 20€ 😂 I can’t believe Gordon was only about 30KM away from me
he does before on the uncharted episode, basicly you just throw them into boiling salted water and eat them like that, they taste very close to what you taste when you swallow ocean water it's very weird
I think this is were aquatic unmanned robots will come in handy. The robots drill & attach themselves to the rocks and collect all the bannacles. Once there is innovation the price of sea bannacles will drop.
Its quite easy actually. Just put the on salty water (similar to ocean) and take them to boil temperature. As soon as it starts to boil they are done. Don't add anything else, just water and salt. They have a really specific taste and are one my top3 seafood. I'm portuguese and I've cooked tons of these, so I know! I live near the beach this was filmed.
They are creatures who attach themselves with a little barrier shell to crayfish. They are. I'm honestly not aware what kind of barcles these are, but they definitely are massive

You know it's gonna be good when Gordon is just *beep* *beep* throughout. I thought free diving for octopus or lobsters was hard but this is insane.
I have to say national geographic and all these professional shows do a really great job at capturing footage. Much appreciated.
Cameraman was right in there too, cheers to all three gents
It's harder.
its a gopro strapped to their chest with a drone.
I agree it should've been a group hug
from the angles, it's cameras strapped to those two, drones and zoom in from long distance. the cameraman is safe and dry.
No cameraman there bud
Gordon Ramsay is everywhere doing everything
What did he do there? Get a couple of them? Get real. Ramsey needs to stay in the kitchen and YOU need a dose of reality.

Same with being at sea. Even on a large ship such as mine, rogue waves are very dangerous while you're on the weatherdecks.
My father said the same.
